Gift Card Mania!

Today I stopped into the Crafters' Gift Boutique to take care of monthly business and to get my cards set up in a much nicer display.  Sherri, at the Boutique, loaned me some white hanging baskets which will make it easier for customers to browse through the cards.  The divider I made for the basket was card board from the bottom of a case of bottled water covered with none other than Stampin' Up! card stock.  I used Basic Black and Neutrals Basic Black Striped DSP.  They turned out well.  I need to get some pictures taken of the display and post here so you all can see what it looks like.

Also, my coaster set sold!  Woo! Hoo!  Apparently, there has been much interest in more coasters so I'm going to be making more but want to use cork board for the next ones.  The set that sold was one of a kind.  Another thing Sherri said people were looking for are gift card holders.  So, tonight, I found instructions for a simple but very nice one.  I don't remember where I found it or who I CASEd it from, but I so appreciate the inspiration for them.  I made up six and will add them to the display on Tuesday.  It was fun to see what I could come up with since they are all the same pattern.

Now it's time to finish watching my movie and then get some sleep.  Tomorrow I'm supposed to head over to my youngest son's for a fish fry.  We can only pray that he and his older brother will catch a bunch to feed ten of us.  The last fish fry was delicious.  It's supposed to rain so we shall see.

So, here are the new gift card holders.  They are all Stampin' Up! product and made with various stamps ink, punches and card stock.  The picture isn't the best so when I come back later to add all the "stuff" I used, I'll try to have a better photo for you.  :-)

Time Spent With Family

Tonight my youngest son, Michael and his wife, Jody and their three sons, Dustin, Zachary and Nicholas included me in their plans for a night at Principal Park to watch an Iowa Cubs game.  It started out rainy but we knew there was going to be a break in the rain so we sat in our seats while it continued to sprinkle down on us.

It was the first I-Cubs game I've attended and it was a good one.  They were ahead, then they were behind by six for several innings.  It's the bottom of the ninth, the score is 10 to 9.  Jody and I have determined that there will be no overtime as the boys need to get home to bed.  Well, to make a long story short, the batter slammed it and brought in the runners on third and first to win the game.  You just had to be there to feel the excitement!  The best part was the fireworks at the end to celebrate the win.  What a fantastic display!  Oh, it did quit raining before the game began and turned out to be a beautiful spring evening.

The other night, while going through some ideas I had printed, I came across the one for this Mini Album.  I don't have a name for the person from whom I CASEd it, but I do thank her.  The pictures aren't the best quality but it will give you an idea of what it should look like.  I used the Fast and Fabulous stamp set that my generous upline so kindly blessed me with.

It's So Cute!

Due to the off and on stormy weather, I've spent little time on the computer today.  As it doesn't take much to figure out what I was doing, here is evidence of how I spent my down time.  I found the tutorial by Holly Krautkremer on Stampin Addicts.  It doesn't take long to make and it can easily hold something other than nail polish bottles.  I think it will make an adorable May Basket for next year.  The only stamp set I used was the new Pretty Postage as well as the Postage Stamp Punch.  The handle part is actually made using the Decorative Label Punch.  Clever idea.

Now it's time to get on out of here so I can get this shaggy hair of mine cut.

Flower Bursts

This is today's creation.  I just felt like playing and saw a card that inspired the one I have posted below.  They are similar but different.  I'm really beginning to like our River Rock color I think I need to order an ink pad in that color.  The stamp sets used are Word Play and Fabulous Florets.

So, without further comment, and that only because I'm tired, here is another new card.

Imagine

A Fun Little Project

Making a gift card holder has long been on my list of projects to try.  Tonight I finally took the time to make one.  It was so easy and so much fun.  Gift cards are a wonderful way to remember someone.  I know I love them.

This is similar to one I saw during one of my blog searching days.  I don't remember where I found it.  I did change it up some but I appreciate the inspiration from the original. It is something that would be easy to design to fit any situation.  I was thinking of graduation when I made this one.

Happy Mother's Day!

I pray today is a wonderful day for all you mothers.  And remember, those who have not birthed a child are no less mothers.  God created women with a mother's heart so it is our nature to nurture.  I have several women in my life who are mothers to me.  It's such a blessing.  My mother is dancing with Jesus and some day I'll see her again.  Life is so good!

My first call this morning was from my youngest son to wish me a Happy Mother's Day.  One down and two to go.  :-)  I love it when they remember.  He and his wife are going to start planting a garden today.  A good family project for this day.  It's a gorgeous one here in Iowa.

Today's card is my first attempt at watercolor.  It's amazing what a little bit of color and water can do.  The stamp set is the On the Grow set from the Summer Mini.

Now I'm off to try my hand at using my new Flower Garden embossing folder.  I'm in the mood to try more water coloring.

So Much to Do; So Little Time

This is going to be a short note as I have a Workshop tomorrow night that needs a card designed and all the supplies prepared.  Would you say I'm just a tad bit behind?  :-)  I did take time to shoot some photos of three new projects.  First is the make and take done at Thursday night's meeting of Central Iowa Stampin' Up! Demonstrators (CIA).  It was so much fun to do and now I want to go buy up a supply of metal sheeting and make some for the Gift Boutique.  Second is one of the make and take cards from Friday nights' Girls Night Out with my upline, Andrea.  I can't find the other card but when I do, I'll be sure to post it.  Third, is a card I designed today to send to one of the people involved with me at the Crafters' Gift Boutique.  We've been at the new location for two weeks and she made a couple of sales.  The card will hold her check!  :-)

Now I must get busy.
