As promised the other day, here is one of the cards I designed using the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Bloomin' Marvelous.  When you spend $50, you can select this stamp set free from now until March 22nd.  It's a very versatile set.  Tomorrow I'll show you another design using another of the great stamps in this set.

Although you can't see it well in the photo, the bottom corners have all been rounded off.

Bloomin' Marvelous Secret Garden

What a day!  I didn't think I'd have a chance to do any crafting today but needed a break.  When Aiden took his nap, I sat down at the craft table and this is what I came up with.  I love the Secret Garden Bundle!  I even got out the Large Paper Doily Sizzlits Die and used it for the first time in months.

Stamp Sets:  Secret Garden, Bloomin' Marvelous; Inks:  Midnight Muse, Stampin' Write Marker/Summer Starfruit; Card Stock:  Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Large Paper Doily Sizzlits Die, Secret Garden Framelits, Pearl Basic Jewels, Anywhere Glue Stick, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimenstionals, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

We have had no sunshine here today so the photo was done in artificial light and didn't turn out the best.  It does not do the card justice.  The Midnight Muse card looks black.

The sentiment is from the Bloomin' Marvelous Stamp Set.  It's one of the Sale-A-Bration sets you can get free when you place a $50 order.  I love it.  Over the coming days, I'll show you more cards made using some of the other stamps that come in the set.  Contact me today to get yours.

24-7 Oh, Hello Flowers

Just a quick post for you today.  Many things are happening that will not allow me much creative time.  Here is the card I made for a challenge I participate in regularly.  I love the colors of this one.  The Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack has so many beautiful papers in it.

Stamps:  Pretty Postage, Oh, Hello; Inks:  Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Postage Stamp Punch, 1" Square Punch, Secret Garden Framelits, Mini Glue Dots, Anywhere Glue Stick, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

Vanilla Red I Love You

Although this card was made with Valentine's Day in mind, it would also be appropriate for an anniversary or one of those just thinking of you cards.  I love getting those.  It's nice to know that someone thinks of you now and again.

Stamps:  Just Believe, My Little Valentine; Ink:  Riding Hood Red; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Labels Collection Framelits, Full Heart Punch, Modern Label Punch, Stripes Embossing Folder, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack/Heart, Dazzling Details, Blender (to add zigzag to label), Anywhere Glue Stick, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

For the heart behind the stamped heart, I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack heart then, cut around it and it was a perfect fit for the background.  To get the texture on the Riding Hood Red layer, I ran it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, first one way then the other.

Aiden's Art

My three year old grandson, Aiden, is always wanting to sit on my lap when I am crafting.  Because he is such a little wiggle worm, I've not been able to let him do that.  The one time I did, I had to cover up many mistakes to my project.  So, this morning we shut off the TV, turned on the Oldies (he doesn't care just so long as it's music) and I turned him loose.  He had all the fun and made very little mess.  I was so proud of my little man.

We made a canvas for Mom and Dad out of left over punch outs and some of my acrylic paints.  He picked all the colors and put things where he wanted them.  Grandma is already thinking ahead to our next project.  As much as I don't like finger paints, I know he would have a ball with them.  Sigh... the things we do for our grandchildren!

Everything used is Stampin' Up!® product except the canvas and the acrylic paints.  The Rhinestone Basic Jewels were colored with permanent marker.

He did the printing with a wee bit of help from Grandma, of course.  He loved the paint brush!  If I would have let him, he would have covered everything with paint.  He is so excited about giving this to his parents.

Winter Frost Mini-Album

Update:  Click on the Winter Frost Mini-Album tab at the top of the page to see the whole album.

A couple of weeks ago I took a class at the local scrapbook store.  It was such a fun time and learned a lot about what you can do with your card stock other than just make cards.  :-)   I'm planning to make more of these using some of the card stock I've been hoarding from Stampin' Up!® to give away as gifts.  All you have to do is add your photos.

I do have photos of the whole album but it would make for a very long post.  So, what I will do is make a special page just for it and share it all with you.

Heart Canvas

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been doing some early spring house cleaning.  While going through some boxes stored in my closet, I found three 6x6 canvases that a friend had given me.  I love the mixed media canvases and I made this one for my granddaughter's room.

Stamp: Trust God; Ink: Raspberry Ripple; Card Stock:  Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack/River Rock; Accessories & Tools:  Hearts Collection Framelits, Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Bitty Buttons, Mini Brads/Silver, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Craft Paint

Now I'm off to make something for the grandsons.  Since it snowed yesterday and today is bitter cold, I plan to stay in where it is warm and cozy.

Thoughts of You

Again, I found a sketch challenge that I wanted to try.  I hadn't used any of the Core'dinations paper I ordered from the now retired Holiday Catalog.  Why, you ask?  Well, I kind of forgot I had it.  When I was looking through my card stock to use for this card, there it was.  I love it and now want to get it in the other colors offered in the Spring Catalog.

Stamp Set:  Loving Thoughts; Ink:  Early Espresso; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Core'dinations/Early Espresso; Accessories & Tools:  Top Note Bigz Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Little Labels Punch Pack, Pearl Basic Jewels, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

Once you lightly sand the top of the paper, the 'core' shows through and gives a whole new look to the design.  Isn't it great?

Thanks So Much

I've finally had a chance to play with some new product from the Spring Catalog.  Being sick and having new toys and not feeling like playing with them is the pits!  Now that I can breath again and not cough my head off, here is a card I made from a card sketch I found on my demonstrator only website.  I love the Secret Garden Stamp Set and Oh, Hello Stamp Set and the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  Well, actually, I love it all!

Stamp Sets:  Oh, Hello, Secret Garden; Ink:  Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Secret Garden Framelits Dies, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

I really do like the clean look of this card.  It's going to be perfect to send to my friend, Sandra, who brought me a care package while I was sick.

A Cute Little Valentine Puppy

The other day I was looking for ideas for my grandchildren to take for treats on Valentine's Day and came across a video by Dee Slater that showed how to make this cute Valentine puppy.  I gave it a try and it is really a cute and easy little card to put together.  I stamped the Happy Valentine Heart sentiment on the inside of the card using Real Red.

Stamp:  Happy Valentine Heart; Inks:  Real Red, Stampin' Write Marker/Soft Suede; Card Stock:  Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Rose Red, Very Vanilla, Basic Black; Accessories & Tools:  Hearts Collection Framelits, Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Owl Builder Punch, Large Oval Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Folder, uni-ball Signo Gel Pen

I think he is just the cutest thing!  We'll see what the grandkids have to say about him.

It's Been a Rough Week!

I'm taking today off and doing as little as possible.  Of course, I might do more when I can breath again.  Coughing until my ribs hurt!  Sneezing like it will never stop!  I really don't like feeling blah?  This is exactly how I really feel!

My Little Valentine

Okay, here is my last Valentine card for the time being.  I have three birthday cards to design for three of my grandsons.  They all have birthdays this month, one right after the other three days in a row.  I'll share those cards with you once I have them done.  Right now they are only images in my head just waiting to find their way to paper and ink.

For this card, I used some of the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper from the Spring Catalog.  It has some beautiful colors in it that I'll be sharing in future projects.

Stamps:  You Are Loved, My Little Valentine; Ink:  Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Hearts Collection Framelits, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

The Grand Opening for the Gift Shop is set for January 25th.  But, be sure to check back this Friday for all the details on how you can register to win a one of a kind gift.

Be My Valentine

Here is another Valentine card I made from previously cut supplies.  The original was also a Valentine card but the stamp set used on it has retired and I wanted to update it.  I already had a stamped blossom from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and thought it would make a great heart.

Stamps:  Delightful Dozen, Mixed Bunch, Tiny Tags; Ink:  Riding Hood Red; Card Stock:  Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Neutrals Designer Series paper Stacks; Accessories & Tools:  Full Heart Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

I love the heart punched from the Mixed Bunch blossom.  That has been a very versatile stamp set for me.

You Are Loved Valentine

With a class looming on the horizon, I've been busy trying different designs, trying to decide what ones I'll use.  Since I don't want to use retired product for this new class,  I've been re-purposing some supplies cut for earlier classes that didn't get used.  This card was originally a birthday card but I thought it would make a great Valentine card.  I'm not a big fan of pink but combined with Night of Navy, it makes for a very pretty card.

Stamps:  You Are Loved, My Little Valentine; Ink:  Night of Navy; Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Full Heart Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

The inside of the card has the Whisper White layer to allow you to write a message.  It also has been stamped with the Be My Valentine sentiment from the You Are Loved Stamp Set.  At the bottom of the white layer is a border of Pretty in Pink that was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

For more details about the Valentine Projects Class, click the Stamping Cafe Events tab at the top of the page.  There are a few spots still open so be sure to reserve yours' today.

It's a Work in Progress

Yesterday our local scrapbook store had a free Beginner's Scrapbooking class so I decided to take in the action.  It's been many, many years since I last did any scrap booking and I wanted to revisit the basics.  It was an excellent class.  Janet was informative, articulate and so very helpful.  It was a small class and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have long been wanting to get the photos I took on my very first vacation ever into a scrapbook.  The photos are old and mostly black and white.  Hmm?  Does that tell you anything about me?  To give you just a bit of back story, my grandmother took me on a month long vacation that started in Iowa, of course since that's where we lived, trailed west into numerous states and north into Canada and culminated in California to visit her brother and his family.  Then, we meandered on back towards Iowa.  It was fantastic and something that I have never forgotten.  I was only 16 at the time and had never been out of the state.  Grandma sparked my interest in so many things with that first taste of the world.

At the class, we were able to select three colors to work with and coordinated with the colors in our photos.  As you can see, I chose brown, cream and blue.

I can't wait to get the rest the photos all done.  It's a work in progress and a labor of love.  Oh, and just so you know and in case you are curious, this is what Old Faithful looked like back in 1966!

My Day of Rest and Worship

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.  Trust ye in the Lord forever; for in the Lord God is everlasting strength.

Welcome to my Saturday!

I have determined that this is going to be one of those slow, lazy days for me.  I'm going to do whatever I have a mind to do, whether it be crafting (which I've already done some since I woke up early), shopping, reading or movie watching.  It has been a whirl wind week and I'm ready for a bit of a slow down.

Framed Happiness

Over the holidays, I've had a lot of time to spend crafting.  I've not had to watch my youngest grandson very much so that allowed me time to get some new items made.  I love the black, white and gray tones but the photo does not do it justice at all.  I'm thinking I need to take another one and see if I can do a better job of it.  Of course, I always blame it on the camera.

And, now I'm off to work on the projects for my January 24th Valentine class.  I have changed my mind on what we will be making so I need to get busy and make sure I have everything in order for it.

Stamp Set:  Heard from the Heart (retired); Ink:  StazOn/Black;  Paper:  Royal Metallics Wausau paper for the solid layers and flowers, Wallpaper for the background and top layer of the flowers; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Mini Brads/Silver

Spring has Sprung at Stampin' Up!

The new Spring Catalog is here and does it have some wonderful new products.  You'll find the link on the sidebar just below the Annual Catalog.  Today's card was made using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and the A Little Greeting Stamp Set.

Stamp Set:  A Little Greeting; Ink: Cajun Craze; Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder/Honeycomb, Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Small Octagons/Nestabilities

To add a bit of differences, I cut out some octagon shapes to add to the hexagon shapes of the honeycomb.  It's going to be fun trying to come up with new ways to use this embossing folder.
