Wacky Watercooler June 2016 Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Wacky Watercooler June 2016 Blog Hop!  As you may know, we have a new Annual Catalog full of some great new product.  Our blog hop this month has us celebrating some of our favorites among the new product.  Our favorite new In Color.  Our favorite Stamp Set/Bundle.  Our favorite Designer Series Paper.  There is so much I like in this catalog that it was hard for me to finally narrow it down.

Our blog hop runs in a circular fashion so, no matter where you begin, you will eventually find yourself back where you started.  Of course, that is not a bad thing.  With eight participants, I'm sure you'll want to take more than one look at all the great projects we have created for you.

My first project is showcasing my favorite new 2016-2018 In Color, Dapper Denim.  Yes, if it's blue then it's a favorite!  I also added just a touch of Sweet Sugarplum as that runs a close second.  Both the Dapper Denim and the Sweet Sugarplum inks were stamped off to give them a lighter, softer look.

Stamp Set:  Jar of Love; Inks:  Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Smoky Slate, Sweet Sugarplum; Cardstock:  2016-2017 In Colors Designer Series Paper Stack, Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim, Whisper White; Other:  Everyday Jars Framelits Dies, Pearl Basic Jewels

The sketch I used for my card is from the Sunday Stamps Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

My next project showcases my favorite stamp set, Jar of Love and favorite dies, Everyday Jars Framelits Dies.  There is so much that can be done with this bundle.  I love those little lightning bugs.  They bring back fond memories of childhood when we chased them all over the yard and put them in a jar.  Before heading in for the night, we'd always let them go so they could go do whatever it is that lightning bugs do.

Stamp Set:  Jar of Love; Inks:  Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, StazOn Jet Black; Cardstock:  Dapper Denim, Shimmery White; Other:  Everyday Jars Framelits Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Silver Gelly Roll Pen

My third and final project showcases the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.  I absolutely love Night of Navy and Whisper White together.  And, in case you haven't noticed, I seem to have a blue theme running through all of my projects.  What can I say?  I so totally love blue that it's my go to color. It wasn't planned but, trust me, I can so live with it.  :-)  Oh, and let's not forget that fantastic Copper Embossing Powder.  If you don't have it yet, you are definitely going to want to add it to your list.

Stamp Sets:  In the Meadow, Kinda Eclectic, Swirly Bird; Inks:  Night of Navy, VersaMark; Cardstock:  Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, Whisper White; Other:  Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, Copper Embossing Powder, Night of Navy Baker's Twine, Elegant Butterfly Punch

Jean Fitch is up next and I'm sure you are going to love her projects.  Just click the image below see.

  2. Nice cards! Thanks for choosing to use the Jar of Love set. I have it, but haven't tried making any projects with it yet. Now I have some inspiration! You're right, I do need to get some of the Copper Embossing Powder. Love your Swirly Scribbles card.

  3. I, too, used to catch fireflies in the summer evenings as a child--you brought back pleasant memories with that card. Your Swirly Scribbles card is the winner, though--love the sophistication of the copper on the navy and white!

    1. Thanks, Gail. It was the one bundle I was hoping to be on the pre-order but no such luck. It was the first thing I put on my first June order. :-)

  7. Marsha I love the way you've used the Jar of Love to show off your favourtie colour. How funny that I guessed it would be the Dapper Denim. Your favourite bundle is the Jar of Love, of course. Love the card and the taller jar full of fireflies. Great story to go along with it, too!. You have a blue theme and it carries on with beautiful elegance for that third card. Adding the Whirly Birds and butterfly finishes the card of with a "wow".

    1. Thanks, Annette! The sketch was a great one. I like being able to layer the patterned paper so it doesn't overtake the whole card.
