Flowers of Hope

Ever have one of those days when you just need to cheer yourself up?  That's been my today.  I have some stressful days and weeks ahead of me and something that always cheers me up and gives me hope are pretty flowers. I made these using one of my favorite stamp sets, Bloomin' Birthday Stamp & Die Combo by Taylored Expressions.

Usually, when I use my Distress Oxide Inks, I add water but today I simply stamped the colors and made these pretty flowers.  I love the way these inks look even without the addition of water.

Stamp Set:  Bloomin' Birthday Stamp & Die Combo (Taylored Expressions); Distress Oxide Inks:  Faded Jeans, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey; Cardstock:  Night of Navy (Stampin' Up!), Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions); Other:  Sugar Cube Enamel Dots, Sunshine Wishes Dies (Stampin' Up!)

The sketch I used are from the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  It's the second step in their Design Team process.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

The CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge is having a Design Team call and, since I love this challenge, I got to work and made this bright, cheerful note card to enter in the challenge.  I used the challenge colors of Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy.  I love how that Lemon Lime Twist patterned paper makes the flowers pop, don't you?

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #141 - Heidi's Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge

This week Heidi is hosting our Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  My youngest grandson turns eight in November so I thought I'd make this bright, cheerful card for him.  I used the Party Pals Stamp and Die Combo that I won during Taylored Expressions 9th birthday celebration.  I've had my eye on this set for quite some time.  It's one that I first used at a TE event and fell in love with it.  In fact, this card is very similar to the one we made at the event.

Stamp Sets:  Gorgeous Grunge, Party Pals Stamp & Die Combo (Taylored Expressions); Copic Sketch Markers:  B00, B05, Y13, Y17, YR09; Inks:  Cookie Monster (Taylored Expressions), Tuxedo Black Memento; Cardstock:  Cookie Monster, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions); Patterned Paper:  Rainbow Brights Paper Pack (Taylored Expressions); Other:  Cookie Monster Enamel Dots, Party Pals Stamp & Die Combo (Taylored Expressions)

Happy Thanksgiving

The challenge at Addicted to CAS was to use pumpkins so I used my favorite Bushel of Blessings  stamp set from Taylored Expressions to make this copper embossed pumpkin.  Once I had the embossing done, I water colored the pumpkin.  The photo doesn't do it justice since you can't see how pretty that copper embossing looks.

Stamp Sets:  Bushel of Blessings (Taylored Expressions), You've Got This (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Old Olive, Poppy Seed, Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand, Tangerine Tango; Cardstock:  Shimmer White, Sugar Cube; Other:  Bushel of Blessings Dies (Taylored Expressions), Copper Embossing Powder

I'm entering my card in the Addicted to CAS Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Happy Holidays

One of the Make & Take cards I made at the Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2017 Event is this beautiful ornament card.  As you can see, I didn't get my small ornament lined up with its string but just image the string is a wee bit bent behind that big ornament and comes out fine at the end.  I know, I know!

Anyway, I wanted to share this card with you and enter it in a new challenge to me, Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  I love making Christmas cards throughout the year.  By the time they need to be sent, all I have to do is address envelopes and put a short note in each card.  It has eliminated the stress of sending those cards.

Stamp Set:  Twinkle Twinkle Background; Ink:  Sugar Cube; Cardstock:  Gold Foil, Red Pepper, Sugar Cube, Sweet Basil, Toffee; Dies:  Ornament Accessories Dies, Ornament Overlays Dies, Picture Perfect - Vertical Dies

I've entered my card in the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the images below.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #234

Hello and welcome to another great sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This card is another of those Autumn birthday cards that I need.  For this one, I used up bits and pieces that were lying around my craft desk.  I love it when they can all come together for an interesting design.

Stamp Joy 2017 Kickoff Party!

Today was the start of Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2017.  I took a class  this afternoon called Fall Shine that was taught by Lori Craig and was it ever a fun class!  We made four cards using different products that "shined" things up a bit.  I will share those with you in the coming days.

For now, I'm want to share with you the card we made at tonight's kickoff party.  We used the Stitched Stems Stamp & Die Combo that we received free for attending the event.  I have to say I love this set and I'm sure you are going to see more of it in my future designs.

The two small flowers were stamped directly on the layer but the larger one was cut out using the die that comes in the combo.  What I love is that the large flower, the small flower and that cute butterfly all have a die to match.

Here's a picture of the stamp set and the dies.  That butterfly is so cute and I can't wait to use it.

Now I'm off to make it an early night as tomorrow is another day of crafting and fun.  If you ever get the chance to attend her Stamp Joy annual event, you are going to have so much fun.

Just A Note

Big, bold and bright.  That's what I would call my daisy.  The colors for the Color Throwdown Challenge were orange, kraft and white so I used some orange Copic markers to color the daisy and added a few orange sequins.  To get the white in there, I added a white pearl to the center of each sequin.  I love this Big Blooms - Daisy stamp set from Taylored Expressions.

Stamp Sets:  Big Blooms - Daisy, Simply Stamped-Butterflies - sentiment; Ink:  Basic Black Archival; Cardstock:  Crumb Cake; Other:  Harvest Matched Sequins, Pearl Basic Jewels

The colors I used are from the Color Throwdown Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the images below.

May Your Dreams Come True

Today found me up early so I figured why not start the day with a session in the craft room.  The background for this design was one I did a week or so ago.  I used the Twinkle Twinkle Background stamp from Taylored Expressions and heat embossed it using White Embossing Powder.  To get the stripes, I cut strips out of Stamping Mask Paper, placed them over the background and sponged over it with Pumpkin Pie ink.  It sure made those twinkly stars pop, don't you think?

The feathers are stamped and cut using the Light as a Feather Stamp & Die Combo from Taylored Expressions.  I stamped them in Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment was stamped using Sugar Cube ink from Taylored Expressions.

Stamp Sets:  Light as a Feather, Twinkle Twinkle Background; Inks:  Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Sugar Cube, VersaMark Watermark Ink Pad; Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Sugar Cube; Other:  Light as a Feather Stamp & Die Combo, Linen Thread, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, White Embossing Powder

The colors I used for my design are from the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the images below.

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Halloween

It's the first Saturday of October and you know that means it's time for our September challenge at Crafty Calendar.   Our theme this month is all about Halloween.  One of our sponsors for the month is Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.

First I created a background using Distress Oxide Inks.  The word boo was colored with my black PrismaColor colored pencil.  I took a paper towel and smeared the black all over the image then colored the ghost with a white Signo Uni-ball Pen to make it stand out.  After fussy cutting the image, I mounted it to the background using foam tape.

Stamp:  Spook (boo) - Dr. Digi's House of Stamps; Distress Oxide Inks:  Black Soot, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Wilted Violet; Cardstock:  Basic Gray, Watercolor Paper (Strathmore), Whisper White; Other:  Harvest Sequins (Taylored Expressions), Black Prismacolor Colored Pencil, White Prismacolor Colored Pencil, White Signo Pen

Thinking of You Shaker

Shaker cards are so much fun to make and I don't why I don't make more of them.  Guess I'm going to have to change that as I think my grandchildren would like them as well as the adults.  I wanted to do one with Fall colors to go with the new Harvest Sequins from Taylored Expressions.  The Pitcher Vase Die is perfect for a shaker card.  This one is going to my oldest favorite granddaughter.  Being as I only have two granddaughters and she is the oldest, she definitely qualifies as the oldest favorite.

Stamp Set:  Simply Stamped - Butterflies (Taylored Expressions); Ink:  Poppy Seed (Taylored Expressions); Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions); Patterned Paper:  Playful Patterns - Harvest (Taylored Expressions); Other:  1" Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon,Bloomers 4 Dies (Taylored Expressions), Everyday Jars Framelits Dies (Stampin' Up!), Foam Adhesive Strips, Glossy Accents (Ranger), Harvest Sequins (Taylored Expressions), Pitcher Vase Dies (Taylored Expressions)

Hello Friend

It's just a short post for me today.  It's one of those days where there is much to do and so little time in which to do it.  But, I wanted to share the card I designed using a stencil I made from various leaf dies.  It was a fun way to create my own background and use my Distress Oxide Inks.  I spritzed a bit of water onto the inks as well as added some drops of Glossy Accents all over the card front.  Of course, the Glossy Accents drops are not showing up well in the photograph.

Stamp Set:  None; Distress Oxide Inks:  Fired Brick, Frayed Burlap, Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick; Cardstock:  Baked Brown Sugar, Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, Sugar Cube; Other:  Assorted Leaves Dies (Darice), Friend Die (Taylored Expressions), Glossy Accents, Hello Die (Taylored Expressions), Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies (Stampin' Up!)

I've entered my card in the following challenges.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the images below.
