WWC164 - Marsha's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge

This week I'm your host at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for our Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge.  For my design, I chose this wonderful hollyhock flower to color with my Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol.  It turned out so much better than I expected.  I love it!

Hollyhocks always remind of my grandmother.  She had this huge back yard and grew so many beautiful things.  When the hollyhocks would start blooming, she would make dolls out of the blossoms and let me play with them.  It was like having my very own dancing flowers.  Such sweet memories of Grandma.

Stamp Sets:  Jumbo Hollyhock (Stampendous), Apron of Love - sentiment (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Marina Mist, Oreo, VersaMark; Cardstock:  Sugar Cube, Oreo; Dies:  Double-ended Flag Stacklets (Taylored Expressions); Other:  Chicken Wire (Taylored Expressions), White Embossing Powder, Glossy Accents

For all of our challenge details and to share your project, visit the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge by clicking the image below.  We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Monday, April 9th at 6:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time to link up your project.

  3. What wonderful memories of your grandmother Marsha. She must have been a gentle soul. I can remember an aunt who made ballroom skirted dolls with Rhododendrum blossoms. What fun for a child! Your beautiful hollyhocks simply take command of this card with their vivid colouring. I haven't tried Gamsol for some years, so this is a good poke to get it out and try it. Beautiful card Marsha thanks so much for sharing.

    1. Thanks, Robyn. Taylored Expressions has a great video showing two ways to blend with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oesAiURLrIY. She also has a nice kit where you get the Gamsol and paper stumps you need for this technique. So much fun.
