Christmas Card Challenges #26

Hello and welcome to this week's color challenge from Christmas Card Challenges.  Before I get to the makings of my card, I want to take this opportunity to let you all know that this will be my last post as a Design Team member at Christmas Card Challenges.  Since June of 2014 I have been honored to be a part of this team.  I'm sad to be leaving but there are other things in my life right now that are demanding my attention and energies.   I've enjoyed it very much and loved having all my Christmas cards done through out the year.

Now onto my card.  For the card base I used Early Espresso cardstock.  I added a layer of Calypso Coral then, a layer of Whisper White that I embossed using the Boho Chic Embossing Folder.  The Calypso Coral Baker's Twine was wrapped around the white layer four times and tied into a bow.  I popped that layer up with some Dimensionals.  The circles were cut from Calypso Coral and Whisper White using the Circle Collections Framelits Dies.  The stars are punched from Real Red using the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of each.  The sentiment is from the Reason for the Season stamp set and was stamped using Real Red ink.

Christmas Card Challenges #25

This week's photo inspiration challenge at Christmas Card Challenges is such a fun one.  Those round red and white peppermint candies remind me of my grandmother.  She loved those things and kept them around all year long.

For the card base I used Real Red cardstock.  After stamping the little trees from the Christmas Bliss stamp set using Cucumber Crush ink onto some Whisper White, I attached it to the top of the card base.  The patterned paper is from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  The sentiment is stamped in Real Red ink and it's also from the Christmas Bliss stamp set.  Then, I punched it out using the Decorative Label Punch.  I added Rhinestone Basis Jewels to the center of the candies and around the sentiment on the label.  I think it's definitely 'merry' & ' bright!'

Christmas Card Challenges #24

For the "Anything Goes" challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges, I just had to do something in blue.  The card base is white and I added a layer of patterned paper from the Silent Night paper pack by ki memories.  It's has just a bit of a shimmer to it.  The sheer ribbon is from May Arts.  For the snowflakes I heat embossed them in Whisper White Embossing Powder onto Gold Glitzy Glitter paper by DCWV.  I punched the large snowflake using the Flower Medallion Punch and the small snowflakes using the Snow Flurry Punch.  I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of each snowflake.

Christmas Card Challenges #23

Good morning!  Welcome to this week's Christmas Card Challenges.  It's a color challenge with some great winter kind of colors.

For this card, I used a card base of Tip Top Taupe to which I attached a layer of Whisper White.  The sentiment is from the Reason for the Season stamp set and stamped using Basic Gray ink.  For the horizontal strip, I used Sahara Sand and added a length of crochet trim from my stash.  The poinsettia is from the Reason for the Season stamp set.  I stamped the poinsettia onto some Whisper White using VersaMark, then heat embossed it with Pewter Embossing Powder.  For the leaves I used a Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Marker and colored inside the leaves.  In the center of the flower, I added some Pearl Basic Jewels as well as a few on the card itself.

Christmas Card Challenges #22

It's photo inspiration week at Christmas Card Challenges.  For this one I stayed with a simple red and white design.  To the Real Red card base, I attached a layer of Whisper White.  After punching out all the little flowers from Real Red cardstock using the Petite Petals Punch, I placed them in a circle to make a wreath around the sentiment.  They are mounted using Dimensionals.  Each flower has a Pearl Basic Jewel center.  The sentiment is from the Tags til Christmas stamp set and stamped using Real Red ink.

Christmas Card Challenges #20

It's a color challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges.  I fudged a bit as I used a patterned paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.  I used some Picket Fence Distress Paint to add some snow to the pine needles.  The card base is Whisper White as is the label that I punched out using the Decorative Label Punch.  I stamped the sentiment from the Good Greetings stamp set using Real Red ink.  A red bow and some Home for Christmas Enamel Dots and the card was done.

Christmas Card Challenges #19

This week's Christmas Card Challenge offers up a photo full of presents under the tree.  For my card I stamped the evergreen from the Lovely As a Tree stamp set using Garden Green ink onto the top of a card base of Whisper White Thick cardstock.  The gift boxes are cut from Crumb Cake cardstock and are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The bows are made from Whisper White Baker's Twine that I colored with Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss inks.  The sentiment is stamped in Real Red using the sentiment from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set.  Then, I added three Real Red Home for Christmas Enamel Dots.

Christmas Card Challenges #18

"Anything Goes" is the challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenges.  I always enjoy these as I get to do just what I want to do.  :-)  For the past couple of evenings I've been doing some coloring on some watercolor panels I found at Taylored Expressions.  This is one from the Christmas 3 x 4 Watercolor Panels pack.

For all the different colors, I used a variety of Stampin' Write Markers to color the little ornaments on the wreath.  Can you tell I was in the mood for lots of color?  What you can't see is the glitter from the Gelly Roll Glitter Pen (I don't know who makes these.) I used on the blue bow and on the frame line.  Sparkly just never seems to photograph well for me.  Sigh.

Onto the Marina Mist card base, I added a layer from the Everyday Moments patterned paper from Teresa Collins.  I've had it for ages but I love the polka dots.  A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and it was all done.

Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

Christmas Card Challenges # 17

It's time again for another Christmas Card Challenge.  This week it's a color challenge.  Since my son and his girlfriend were here helping me rearrange my craft room/bedroom, I discovered even more scraps that needed to be used up.

For my colors I used, Very Vanilla for the card base, Soft Suede for the narrow strip, Rich Razzleberry for two squares and Watermelon Wonder for the third.  I stamped the sentiment from the Good Greetings stamp set using Basic Gray ink.  Then, I added three Very Vanilla Home for Christmas Enamel Dots and several Rich Razzleberry Candy Dots.

Christmas Card Challenges #16

Today may be the first day of Spring but I'm still making those Christmas cards.  I love having them all done by the time December comes around again.  This week, at Christmas Card Challenges, we have a photo challenge for you.  Come join us and show us how it inspired you.

The card base is Crumb Cake.  The snowflakes are Crumb Cake stamped in Whisper White Craft ink using the Flurry of Wishes stamp set.  To give them the appearance of hanging like ornaments, I added Silver Metallic Thread and draped them over the patterned paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.  The sentiment is also from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set.  I stamped it using Soft Suede ink and punched it out using the Modern Label Punch.  To finish it off, I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Christmas Card Challenges #15

It's "Anything Goes" week here at Christmas Card Challenges.  So, I decided to use up some of my Christmas paper scraps.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler and to that I added two different layers of patterned Christmas paper.  I cut the circle out of Whisper White using the Circle Collection Framelits Dies and sponged the edge of the circle Always Artichoke.  I added a strip of 1" Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Happy Scenes stamp set and stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink.  The tree is cut from Always Artichoke using the Evergreen Dies from Taylored Expressions.  Then, I added little drops of White Opal Liquid Pearls by Ranger.

Christmas Card Challenges #13

Don't you think the inspiration photo for this week's Christmas Card Challenge is gorgeous?  I purple and white.  It makes for a very pretty non-traditional Christmas card.

For my card I used a Whisper White card base and added a layer of Elegant Eggplant cardstock.  The Christmas tree was made using Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  The rhinestones are mounted onto some cardstock and the tree is popped up using dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment from the Complements of the Season stamp set from Waltzing Mouse onto Whisper White using Elegant Eggplant ink.  Then, I cut it out using the label die from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.  A few more rhinestones and it was all done.  Very simple but I do love the sparkle.

Christmas Card Challenges #12

It's an "Anything Goes" challenge for you this week at Christmas Card Challenges.  It's one of my favorites because I get to do whatever I want.  Today's card was very easy to make and makes water coloring so easy.

For my card I Whisper White for the card base.  To that I added a layer of paper from Twelves Days of Christmas paper pad from Graphic 45.  Over that I used one of the 3x4 Christmas Watercolor Panels from Taylored Expressions.  To watercolor, I used my Faber-Castell Watercolor Pencils.  I love those things!  All you have to do is color then, take your brush and add a bit of water to get the look you want.  So easy!  The sentiment I used is from the Reason for the Season stamp set and I stamped it in Basic Black Archival ink.  Before adding the watercolor panel using dimensionals, I added some 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon.  A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and it was done.

All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

Christmas Card Challenges #11

This week at Christmas Card Challenges we have a Color Challenge for you.  I love when we get to use non-traditional colors for a Christmas card.

For my card, I used a Basic Black card base.  On the inside of the card I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set in Basic Gray ink.  The layer on the front of the card is Whisper White.  I inked up the inside of the Chicken Wire Embossing Folder from Taylored Expressions with Smoky Slate ink and ran it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  The Melon Mambo word Joy is cut using the die from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies.  I added a few pink rhinestones inside the wire to give it a wee bit of bling.

Christmas Card Challenges #10

We have a wonderful inspiration photo for you this week here at Christmas Card Challenges.  My favorite color is blue so I always appreciate getting to use that color.

On a card base of Whisper White, I added a layer of Night of Navy.  Using Whisper White cardstock, I punched a border of stars using the Confetti Stars Border Punch.  For the moon, I used a 2" Circle Punch and lightly sponged around the edge with Night of Navy ink.  Santa in his sleigh and his reindeer are from the Stampin' Up!® Holiday Home stamp set and also stamped in Night of Navy.  The sentiment, stamped in Night of Navy, is from the Compliments of the Season stamp set from Waltzing Mouse.  It's stamped using Night of Navy.  The four evergreens are cut using the Evergreens Dies from Taylored Expressions.  I popped them up with some dimensionals.  I did add some Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer to each of the stars but it does not photograph well but it does make for a pretty effect on the card.  A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Christmas Card Challenges #7

Welcome!  This week Christmas Card Challenges has a great inspiration photo for you.  Gold is not one of the colors I go to much, I'm actually a silver person.  But I do like the way the Gold Foil paper cut using the Sweater Weather Cutting Plate from Taylored Expressions.  I love all the detail.

Real Red and Very Vanilla paired nicely with the gold, don't you think?  I pulled out two favorites for the label.  I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Lodge in Real Red and die cut it using Lots of Labels Framelits Dies.  I popped up the label with some dimensionals and added just a bit of bling in Champagne rhinestones.

One thing I discovered is that shiny gold does not photograph well.  Then again, it could just be the photographer.  I'm still learning.

Christmas Card Challenges #6

Welcome to "Anything Goes" week here at Christmas Card Challenges.  For this one I made a little snowflake flower and put it in a vase.  I keep forgetting that I have these cute little Posh Vases Dies from Taylored Expressions.  I haven't used them in ages but they are so cute!

For my card, I stayed with mostly Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler for my colors. Other colors I used are Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. And, I've been itching to use this plaid paper from Handmade Holidays by Simple Stories because I happen to love plaid, especially if it's flannel.  The sentiment is from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and stamped in Always Artichoke.  The snowflake is a Studio G stamp.  It's stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  I know, I've never seen a red snowflake, either.  Let's just say it fit the color scheme.  I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of the snowflake and on each point.  So, what do you think, too much plaid?

Christmas Card Challenges #5

Happy New Year!  Welcome to the first Christmas Card Challenge of the 2016.  It's a color challenge for you this week.  For this one I used up some of the scraps that were laying around on my craft table.  Joy is cut from Watermelon Wonder cardstock using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies and the circle is cut from Rich Razzleberry cardstock using the Circle Collection Framelits Dies.  I thing the two pair beautifully.  The card base is Smoky Slate with a layer of Very VanillaHandmade Holiday by Simple Stories gave me the polka dot patterned paper.  It's a simple design but I love that the only thing I had to do to it was trim down the size, glue it together, add a few Rhinestone Basic Jewel and the baker's twine.  It doesn't get any easier than that!

So, come join us and start your new year with a weekly Christmas card.  By the time next December rolls around you'll have all you need to share with your family and friends.
