Llama Birthday

So, what do you do when you wake up early?  I usually grab a book and read while the house is still quiet but this morning it was a make a card morning.  I had such fun making this cute llama birthday card.

To add more texture, I used the Bubbles Embossing Folder on the layer of Blushing Bride and the Subtles Embossing Folder on the banners cut from Shaded Spruce.  For the party hat, I stamped the hat image on some Shaded Spruce cardstock, then on some Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  I fussy cut the part of the darker hat and added the pieces to the lighter layer.  For the finishing touch, I used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to add some shimmer to the hat but it doesn't show up well in the photo.

Isn't that llama just the cutest!  I used my Prismacolor Colored Pencils to color it.  Yes, there is a white pencil.

I've entered my card into the following challenges.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Happy Birthday

Okay, it's getting late and I have to be up early in the morning as I'm having breakfast out with my youngest son which means I'm going to keep this post a short one.  It's been a long day and I'm ready to shut everything down and enjoy some quiet time.

Using the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, I created this masculine birthday card.  I always have need for plenty of cards for guys.  I love how this one came together.  I stayed with the light and dark layers in the sketch and this is the result.  I embossed both of the layers but you can't see it on the patterned paper.

Here's another view of the card, which shows off the embossing done with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!  The patterned paper was embossed using the Subtles Embossing Folder also from Stampin' Up!

The sketch I used is from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Hello and a Happy Friday to all of you!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a new die from Cheapo Dies.  I'll be here every Friday to share a new die with you so I hope to see you again.  In the meantime, be sure to take time to check out all the different dies they have available.  I'm having so much fun with all of the dies I've been sharing over the last several weeks.  They are good quality and you can't beat the price.  I know you'll love them as much as I do.  You can see them HERE.

The dies featured today are the Snowflakes Die and the Typewriter Font Die.  The card base is Sugar Cube to which I added a layer of patterned paper.  I cut the snowflakes out of Sugar Cube cardstock and the letters are the reverse side of the patterned paper.  Using a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, I covered the snowflakes and, while it doesn't show in the photo, they have a pretty shimmer to them.  The finishing touch was adding a few rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes.

Angel

Hello and a Happy Friday to all of you!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a new die from Cheapo Dies.  I'll be here every Friday to share a new die with you so I hope to see you again.  In the meantime, be sure to take time to check out all the different dies they have available.  I'm having so much fun with all of the dies I've been sharing over the last several weeks.  They are good quality and you can't beat the price.  I know you'll love them as much as I do.  You can see them HERE.

The die featured today is the Angel Die.  I used up some things I aready had made.  The cardbase is Sugar Cube cardstock to which I added a layer of Lovely Lipstick I had embossed with the Regency Swirls 3-D embossing folder.  The sentiment is from the Holiday Florals stamp set and was stamped using Oreo ink.  The angel is cut from Powder Pink cardstock and glued over the embossed layer.  For the finishing touch I added a few rhinestones for a bit of bling.  Another simple but pretty Christmas card.

Again, you'll have to forgive the photograph.  I'm still getting sorted after my move and I'm just not there, yet.  It's been an interesting time trying to find what box my boys packed things in.  There was absolutely no labeling done, so I'm being surprised with every box I open.  It's an adventure!

Stamp Set:  Holiday Florals - sentiment (Taylored Expressions)
Ink:  Oreo (Taylored Expressions
Cardstock:  Lovely Lipstick, Powder Pink (Stampin' Up!); Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Angel Die (Cheapo Dies)
Other:  Regency Swirls 3-D Embossing Folder (Crafter's Companion); Rhinestone Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Cute Spooks

Hello and Happy Wednesday to all!  It's time for another challenge from The Sisterhood of Crafters.  This week Terri is our host and she has chosen "Cute Spooks" as the challenge theme.

This one was a true challenge for me as I don't have any cute spook type of stamps.  So, I used some Graphic 45 patterned paper and found two small stamps that were in a box a friend gave me and stamped a dangling spider and the legs of witch for my spook feature.  I hope it works.

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Fall is in the Air

Hello and Happy Wednesday to all!  It's time for another challenge from The Sisterhood of Crafters.  This week I am your host and the theme is Fall is in the Air.  So, show us what you think of when you think of Fall.

With Autumn (Fall) officially here, the weather has turned cooler and some of the leaves are starting to change.  My card was made from an older Paper Pumpkin kit.  Fall is my favorite time of the year and what could be better than a shaker card made with some pretty Fall colors.  I laid the card down in the second photo so you could see the different colors and shapes of the sequins I used.
