WWC318 - Kath's Challenge: All About Occasions

Our All About Occasions challenge has rolled around again at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Here is another birthday card I put together using up more of the bits and pieces I have in my stash.  I did some very simple coloring and love the yellows and other colors that I used.

Please forgive the quality of my photos.  My Shotbox is buried again and I didn't have enough daylight to get a good photo.  I'll do better next time.

WWC311 - Kath's Challenge: All Things Feminine

It's that time of year when you just want to see green and flowers.  Here in Iowa, it is slowly turning to Spring.  While I wait for the real thing, here is flower I colored using my Copic markers.  I've not used them in a very long time and I can sure tell I'm out of practice.  This is one of the images I had already stamped and added to my stash.  I attached it to a Lemon Meringue card base.  For the finishing touch, I added a few Gold Drip Drops.

WWC309 - Dawn's Challenge: Anything Masculine Goes

It's been so cold here in Iowa that I've gladly stayed inside my cozy little apartment.  I will admit that I am tired of the site of totes that still need unpacked.  Of course, being distracted by these cute little snowmen may be one of the reasons I'm so slow getting the unpacking done.

Our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week is our masculine challenge.  I thought these sweet snowmen would make a perfect card for one of my grandsons.

WWC288 - Kath's Challenge: All About Occasions

Kath is hosting our All About Occasions challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  I needed a birthday card as my youngest granddaughter is turning one next month.  I've not seen the little cutie as we live in different states and only have pictures that her mom and dad send me via text.  Oh, and an occasional video.  I love those.

Be sure to check out the wonderful projects from the Watercooler Artists.  Then, take the challenge and link up your creation  You can find all of our challenge details by clicking the image below. WWC279 - Helen's Challenge: All About Occasions

Today's Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is hosted by Helen and it's All About Occasions.  As you can see, my occasion is birthday.  I used one of the stenciled backgrounds I had in my stash for this card.  I used the Spring Fling Layered Stencil from Taylored Expressions.  I love these stencils as there are three layers that allow you to get everything lined up perfectly.

Today, Tristan is hosting our All About Occasions challenge over at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  As ever, I'm needing more birthday cards and this one was such fun to create.  I used my Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes to make a background to showcase the Wild Grass stamp from Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.  The ink colors I used are Salt Water Taffy, Gumball and Toffee from Taylored Expressions.  The image was stamped using Altenew's Jet Black ink.

Llama Birthday

So, what do you do when you wake up early?  I usually grab a book and read while the house is still quiet but this morning it was a make a card morning.  I had such fun making this cute llama birthday card.

To add more texture, I used the Bubbles Embossing Folder on the layer of Blushing Bride and the Subtles Embossing Folder on the banners cut from Shaded Spruce.  For the party hat, I stamped the hat image on some Shaded Spruce cardstock, then on some Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  I fussy cut the part of the darker hat and added the pieces to the lighter layer.  For the finishing touch, I used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to add some shimmer to the hat but it doesn't show up well in the photo.

Isn't that llama just the cutest!  I used my Prismacolor Colored Pencils to color it.  Yes, there is a white pencil.

I've entered my card into the following challenges.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Birthday Balloons

Another day has come and gone here in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  It was a beautiful one.  My craft desk sits right under the window and I love looking out on those mountains as I create.

Clean and simple was the order of the day for the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge.  I combined their sketch with the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge.  I think they played well together.

I stamped the balloons from the Wish Big Stamp & Die Combo from Taylored Expressions.  Then, I fussy cut those balloons as the only dies in the set are for the words.  I hand drew the strings to the balloons.  Free hand is not my forte.  The word happy was stamped in Poppy Seed and cut with the die in the set.  For the finishing touch, I added to Drip Drops (yes, that is what they are called) to the happy.

The Drip Drops are iridescent but in this photo they look like they are clear.  They add just the right amount to sparkle.  I think I'm going to be using them often.

I played along with the following challenges.  For all the challenge details, click the image(s) below.

Happy Birthday

Okay, it's getting late and I have to be up early in the morning as I'm having breakfast out with my youngest son which means I'm going to keep this post a short one.  It's been a long day and I'm ready to shut everything down and enjoy some quiet time.

Using the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, I created this masculine birthday card.  I always have need for plenty of cards for guys.  I love how this one came together.  I stayed with the light and dark layers in the sketch and this is the result.  I embossed both of the layers but you can't see it on the patterned paper.

Here's another view of the card, which shows off the embossing done with the Hammered Metal Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!  The patterned paper was embossed using the Subtles Embossing Folder also from Stampin' Up!

The sketch I used is from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Birthday Flowers

It has been sometime since I've used the Everything Is Rosy stamp and die set.  I thought it would be perfect for this color combination.  I rather like the way it all came together.

First thing I did was all of the stamping and foliage.  Then, I cut them all out.  The background foliage is cut from cardstock as there is no stamp for them.  Before placing all of the various elements of the design, I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner and made sure not to cover it up with any of the foliage.  The finishing touch was the gems in the center of each flower.

Stamp(s):  Everything Is Rosy (Stampin' Up!)
Ink(s):  Highland Heather, Gray Granite, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Gray Granite, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)

Here is what I did for the inside of the card.  The patterned paper is the reverse of the paper used on the front of the card.

WWC255 - Marsha's Challenge: Anything Goes with a Masculine Twist

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week I'm hosting our Anything Goes with a Masculine Twist challenge.

This is the card I made for my oldest grandson.  He is in the market for a new car so I thought he would get a kick out of this.

All of the pieces were left over die-cuts from another project.  I stamped the image under the car and the gears on the card front and added the car using foam tape.

Here is what the inside of the card looks like.  I stamped the tool box in the lower left corner and added the die-cut Happy Birthday.

Stamp(s):  Geared Up Garage (Stampin' Up!)
Ink(s):  Soft Suede (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Garage Gears Thinlits Dies (Stampin' Up!); Happy Birthday (Sizzix)
