Hello

Today's card was made using just the card base.  First, I used my VersaMark Pen to make the wavy, crooked line then, heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I stamped the hello in Night of Navy ink to the right and added the die-cut flower to the left.  I die-cut two and popped them up with foam tape.  For the finishing touch, I added a few iridescent bubbles.  A clean and simple card that took no time at all to make.

Stamp(s):  Build-A-Flower:  Peruvian Lily (Altenew)
Ink(s):  Night of Navy (Stampin' Up!); VersaMark Pen
Cardstock:  Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Patterned Paper:  Everything is Rosy Designer Series Paper (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Flower Die (Taylored Expressions)
Other:  Gold Embossing Powder, Iridescent Bubbles

I've entered my card in the following challenge:

Thinking of You

It's just a clean and simple stand of trees.  It's been snowing on and off here today so I spent the day in my craft room, watching it snow while I made a few more cards.  The sketch is from The Paper Players Challenge and the theme of 'trees' is from The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge.   I really like how this all came together.  Simple, easy and a card I can send to one of my grandsons.

Stamp(s):  Colorful Seasons (Stampin' Up!)
Ink(s):  Shaded Spruce (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Gray Granite (Stampin' Up!)
Patterned Paper:  Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Evergreens Die (Taylored Expressions)
Other:  Subtles Embossing Folder (Stampin' Up!); Icy Sparkle Crystals (Studio Katia)

Here's another view of the card.  I did run the trees through the Subtles Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!  It gave the trees just a wee bit of texture and made them look less flat.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

AECP - Yellow is the Color for Roses

Yellow roses were my mother's favorite so I made a trio of pretty yellow roses for this lesson in the In the Mood for Color class.  I kept the design very simple.

Each rose was stamped using a different combination of yellow.  I stamped each outline using Jet Black ink.  I masked the one rose so I could put two of them close together.

After completing the panel with the roses, I cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to fit behind and clued the two together.  It gave a little bit of color to the card but kept the focus on the flowers.

The sentiment is from the Simple Flowers stamp set from Altenew.  For the finishing touch, I stamped the little dotted image all the front.  I decided not to add any other embellishments.

Stamp(s):  Bold Blossom, Simple Flowers (Altenew); Everything Is Rosy (Stampin' Up!)
Ink(s):  Butter Cream, Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle, Caramel Truffle, Jet Black (Altenew)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss (Stampin' Up!)

AECP Level 2 - In the Mood for Color

It's time to share another card I made for certification class.  This lesson, in the In the Mood for Color class, focused on the color green.  She showed stamping on watercolor paper and simply using your brush and water to spread the color.  I love the look you get.  While she used distress inks, I used some of my Altenew inks.  I think the next one I do, I'll use some oxide inks to see what happens.

Stamp(s):  Leafy Canopy, Build-A-Flower: Rose (Altenew)
Ink(s):  Frayed Leaf, Sweet Leaf, Firefly, Jet Black (Altenew)
Cardstock:  Whisper White (Stampin' Up!); Watercolor Paper (Master's Touch)
Other:  Sequins (Taylored Expressions); Foam Tape; Shimmery Crystal Effects (Stampin' Up!)

AECP - The Color Red

Over the next few days, I'm going to be sharing with you all the cards I've made for my Altenew Educator Certification Program Level 2 classes.  I've had a fun week learning more about color and different ways to use it.

Today's color was red so I combined Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink with Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink.  I used the Leaf Canopy stamp set from Altenew and this is the end result.

I stamped the solid leaf image onto Mixed Media Paper using Candied Apple distress oxide ink and spritzed it with water.  Then, once dry, I stamped the outline leaf image on the solid image using Fired Brick distress oxide ink.

Stamp(s):  Leaf Canopy (Altenew)
Distress Oxide Ink(s):  Candied Apple, Fired Brick
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black (Stampin' Up!); Mixed Media Paper (Strathmore)
Other:  Arctic White Ultra-Fine Embossing Powder; Clear Raindrops (Studio Katia)

For the sentiment, I white embossed it on black and added it to the center between the leaf branches.  For the finishing touch, I added some clear raindrops.

Wishing You a Day

It's another day and time for another challenge.  The Paper Players Challenge had a wonderful inspiration photo this week and I just had to play along.  I love the colors found in it.

It's a clean and simple challenge but I think I got carried away.  There is a lot of navy showing so maybe that will be acceptable.  I do love this stamp set and the images it has.  It was fun to stamp and die-cut and put it all together.

Stamp(s):  Simple Flowers (Altenew); Woven Heirlooms (Stampin' Up!
Ink(s):  Seaside Spray, Granny Apple Green, Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Gorgeous Grape (Stampin' Up!); VersaMark
Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Simple Flowers Die (Altenew)
Other:  Arctic White Ultra-Fine Embossing Powder, Faceted Gems

And here's a close up of that wonderful sentiment from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set.  I do so love that font.  It's such pretty cursive.

The Paper Players have a Clean and Simple themed challenge with color influence from the North Pole.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.
