Bushel of Blessings

Autumn is my favorite time of the year and I found two challenges that were an inspiration for the card I made for today.  I've been using up card bases left over from different events I had in days past.  It's a good way to deplete my supply of colors that have retired.  And, I absolutely love that Bushel of Blessings stamp set and Bushel of Blessings Dies from Taylored Expressions!  I've been looking for a long time for a great pumpkin set and I think I've finally found it.  I'm happy now!  :-)

Stamp Set:  Bushel of Blessings (Taylored Expressions); Inks:  Rich Razzleberry, Tuxedo Black Memento, Variety of Copic Markers; Cardstock:  Peach Parfait, Rich Razzleberry, Shimmery White, Twelve Days of Christmas Patterned Paper (Graphic 45); Other:  Bushel of Blessing Dies (Taylored Expressions), Chicken Wire Embossing Folder (Taylored Expressions), Gold Sequins, Pearl Basic Jewels

The sketch I used is from the Share Joy Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Cherry Cobbler Flower

Time is flying by these days what with getting ready for Thanksgiving and working on Christmas gifts for family and friends.  It is stacking up to be a very busy week for me.  Let me just share a bit of my schedule with you.

Today is our annual Thanksgiving dinner where I live.  It's always a fun time.  Tomorrow is challenge day for Watercooler Wednesday Challenges.  Be sure to join in and share your project.  Then, there's Thursday.  I have a 3 p.m. council meeting as I'm the treasurer for our Residents Association.  At 6 p.m. it will be time to join in the fun with fellow demonstrators at our annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange at Okoboji Grill.  To top it all off, the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop starts at 8 p.m. CST.  Do stop by and take a tour.  And, sometime this week, I need to schedule in a road trip to do some scrapbooking with a friend.  Oh, and don't forget all the other challenges that I love and participant in regularly.

You know, I'm thinking I won't be slowing down until next year!

Stamp sets:  Best Thoughts, Gorgeous Grunge, Happy Scenes; Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron; Cardstock:  Whisper White Thick; Accessories & Tools:  Little Leaves Sizzlits Die, Flower, Wink of Stella Brush Clear, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin' Trimmer.

Wacky Watercooler October Holiday Round-Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler October Holiday Round-Up Blog Hop.  The Watercooler gang has been hard at work creating some mighty fine new holiday projects featuring products from the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog.  There are 13 of us so be prepared to be amazed with all the wonderful projects we have to share.

For my first project, I used the new Happy Scenes stamp set, the new Hearth & Home Framelits Dies, the new Woodland Embossing Folder and an old favorite, the Lovely As a Tree stamp set.  And, yes, Jean, I used a spider.  She knows how much I hate spiders.  I go running whenever I see one.  Sad thing is, I have to come back to do away with the critter.  It's really a funny undertaking and I'm sure you all would laugh until you fell off your chairs should you ever have the privilege of seeing me go into action.

Just for the record, no, I don't consider Halloween a holiday but my oldest son does.  I'm not sure where he gets that from but I can assure you it's not from my side of the family!  :-)   I made this card just for him.  It's going to be included in the care package I'm sending off to him in a few days.  I just have to finish getting the things I want to include.

Stamp Sets:  Happy Scenes, Lovely As a Tree; Ink:  Basic Black Archival; Cardstock:  Basic Black, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Tangerine Tango, Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Woodland Embossing Folder, Hearth & Home Framelits Dies, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Triple Banner Punch, Silver Cording Trim, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details, SNAIL Permanent Adhesive, Glue Dots, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

For my second project, I focused on Thanksgiving.  I think it is a nearly forgotten holiday other than you get the day off from work.  I'm one of those who waits until the day after Thanksgiving to start looking forward to Christmas.  The only exception is making Christmas cards throughout the year as a member of the Design Team for Christmas Card Challenges.  It's nice to have them all done and ready to go when the time comes.

These are the cards that I'll be sending out to my family.  I combined three of my favorite stamp sets, For All Things, Teeny Tiny Wishes and You've Got This.  The little label is made using the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  I stamped the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto Whisper White cardstock then, punched it out using the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  As you can see, it fits perfectly in the punched piece.  Hey, no one told me it had to make a flower.  :-)

This is how I finished the inside of the card.

Stamp Sets:  For All Things, Teeny Tiny Wishes, You've Got This; Inks:  Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Tip Top Taupe; Cardstock:  Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper, Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Lots of Labels Framelits Dies, Boho Chic Embossing Folder, Corner Rounder Punch, Festive Flower Builder Punch, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Pearl Basic Jewels, Dimensionals, SNAIL Permanent Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

My final project is all about Christmas.  It uses the new Peaceful Wreath stamp set, the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies and the new Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  It doesn't show up well but the stamped bow has a Gold Cording Trim bow added on top of it.  It probably would have shown up better had I used a different color of ink for the stamped bow.  Oh, and can I just say I love those Home for Christmas Enamel Dots!  I know, I got a little carried away.  :-)  I hope Stampin' Up!® comes out with more of those.

Stamp Set:  Peaceful Wreath; Inks:  Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Real Red; Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla; Accessories & Tools:  Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Gold Cording Trim, Home for Christmas Enamel Dots, SNAIL Permanent Adhesive, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

A Pumpkin Pie Thanksgiving

Ever have one of those projects that when you are done with it, it just doesn't seem right?  Well, this is one for me.  The design looked so much better in my mind.  Some how I just couldn't get those flowers and leaves to work for me but, I decided to share it anyway.  I do like the Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black together.

Stamp Set:  Season of Giving (Hero Arts); Ink:  Basic Black Archival; Card Stock:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White Thick; Accessories & Tools:  Festive Flower Builder Punch, Black Flowers (Prima), Orange Flowers (Daisy D's), Candy Dots Brad Bases, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Glue Dots, SNAIL Permanent Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer.  Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

Colour Me...! Creative Challenge 48 and Freshly Made Sketches 164

The Reed family had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I was so pleased to have my three sons all together this year.  Family fun, food, and football... it doesn't get any better than that!  My son, Matthew, and his wife, Michelle, hosted this year.  He makes a delicious champagne turkey.  There is never much left when we get done with it.  I'm still "stuffed" from yesterday!

Today I was back in the craft studio pairing up challenges for my card.  This one uses the colors from the Colour Me...! Creative Challenge and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  Along with the new Banner Blessings Stamp Set, they all made for a rather pretty card.  I think it will be perfect to send to Matthew and Michelle for bringing us all together for Thanksgiving.

Stamp Set:  Banner Blessings; Ink:  Rose Red; Card Stock:  Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Adorbs (My Mind's Eye); Accessories & Tools:  Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine, In Color Sequin, Dimensionals

The Colour Me...! Creative Challenge details can be found HERE.

Give Thanks

Today's post will be a short one as I'm headed out to run some errands before the snow starts to fly.  Thanksgiving is nearly here and so this is my final Thanksgiving card I needed to send.  Here is what I came up with using these stamp sets; For All Things, Petite Petals and Pictogram Punches.  Three of my favorites!  (Yes, I know, everything is my favorite!)

Stamp Sets:  For All Things, Petite Petals, Pictogram Punches; Inks:  Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango; Card Stock:  Cajun Craze, Whisper White, All Is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper, Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, SNAIL Adhesive, Glue Dots, Stampin' Trimmer

Okay, just saw my first snowflake.  It's time for me to get going!  I don't want to be caught out when it really gets to flying white out there.

A Simple Thanksgiving Pumpkin

You know, sometimes it feels like I'm been cleaning and sorting for years.  I know, it's only be a couple of months.  How does any one collect so much "stuff"?  When I was cleaning out my craft supply closet, I put all of my scraps in a box and every now and again, I'll pull out some colors and make a card like today's Thanksgiving card.  As a former Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I have a lot of retired card stock and designer series paper.  I love how the Cajun Craze and Not Quite Navy card stock along with the Well Worn Designer Series Paper look together.  I have been concentrating on making my Thanksgiving cards to send to family and friends.  Here's my latest.

Stamp Sets:  Pumpkin (Studio G), A Season of Giving (Hero Arts); Inks:  Cajun Craze (Stampin' Up!), Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Ink (Ranger); Card Stock:  Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze and Well Worn Designer Series Paper (Stampin' Up!), Autumn Song Collection (Bo Bunny); Accessories & Tools:  Clear Embossing Powder (Stampin' Up!), White Doily (Bo Bunny), Pop Dots

I also added a sentiment to the inside of the card using the Cajun Craze card stock and clear embossed it as well.  I was going to add the rest of the doily but it looked rather odd, so I just left it off.  Although you can't see it, I stamped the pumpkin on the doily, then stamped it on some patterned paper, cut it out and used pop dots to attach it to the card.

A few more Thanksgiving cards and I can start in on those Christmas cards.  I have a few done but now that I've made my list, I have quite a few to go.

Until next time. . .happy creating!

I love making non-traditional cards so I brought out Pumpkin JackThanksgiving is an often forgotten holiday but it and Christmas are my two favorites.  I remember all of the delicious smells coming from the kitchen and the beautiful table my mother used to set the those holidays.  The house was always full and it was a time to be thankful for all we had.  Here is the simple Thanksgiving card I made for this challenge.

Stamp Sets: Anemones (Flourishes), Thanksgiving Sentiments (Unknown); Inks:  Tuxedo Black (Memento), Tim Holtz Vintage Photo (Ranger); Card Stock:  Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke (Stampin' Up!), Classic White (Flourishes); Accessories & Tools:  Anemones Silhouette Cut File, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack (Stampin' Up!), 3/8" Lime Ribbon, Tim Holtz Pumpkin Jack Die (Sizzix), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine
