Wacky Watercooler October Blog Hop

Welcome to the October edition of the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  Each month, on the third Thursday of the month, a group of us get together to hop and share projects we've made using product from Stampin' Up!'s current catalogs.  It's always a lot of fun.  This month we are celebrating Autumn with a focus on fall colors and occasions.

You should be coming to my blog from Gail Allen.  Her projects were fantastic, don't you think?  After your visit with me, head on over to check out what projects Debbie Spano has shared with us.  And, as always, our Hop runs in a circle.  Whether you start at the top and go forward or start at the bottom and go backward, you will always wind up where you started.

One of the things I have come to love and appreciate is single layer stamping.  It's clean, it's simple and it doesn't bulk up that envelope when you are ready to send it through the mail.  For this one, I stamped the leafy branch from Crazy about You in Pumpkin Pie and added the sentiment from Paisleys & Posies stamped in Soft Suede.  And that, as they say is that!

Stamp Sets:  Crazy About You, Paisleys & Posies; Inks:  Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede; Cardstock:  Whisper White

My next project adds a couple of layers and some simple embellishments.  The "pumpkins" are stamped in Tangerine Tango using one of the images from the Work of Art stamp set.  The stems, also an image from the Work of Art stamp set, are stamped in Emerald Envy.  On the center pumpkin, I added a small twine bow and to the upper left corner I used Regals Candy Dots in Rich Razzleberry.  That is the only part of this project that is retired.  I really do miss those candy dots.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and it's stamped in Soft Suede.

Stamp Sets:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Work of Art; Inks:  Emerald Envy, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango; Cardstock:  Emerald Envy, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White; Other:  Twine, Rich Razzleberry Regals Candy Dots (retired)

My final project showcases some of the fall colors we see here in Iowa in the Autumn.  The base color is Delightful Dijon.  To that I added a strip of the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper.  On the popped up layer, Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Dijon and Whisper White.  I used the trees from the In the Meadow stamp set and stamped it in Soft Suede.  The leaf colors were done using a bundle of q-tips as a stamp.  The sentiment I used is from the retired stamp set Happy Scenes.  I love this color combination, don't you?

Stamp Sets:  Happy Scenes - sentiment (retired), In the Meadow, Timeless Textures; Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede; Cardstock:  Delightful Dijon, Rich Razzleberry, Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack, Whisper White; Other:  Pearl Basic Jewels

Wacky Watercooler October Holiday Round-Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler October Holiday Round-Up Blog Hop.  The Watercooler gang has been hard at work creating some mighty fine new holiday projects featuring products from the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog.  There are 13 of us so be prepared to be amazed with all the wonderful projects we have to share.

For my first project, I used the new Happy Scenes stamp set, the new Hearth & Home Framelits Dies, the new Woodland Embossing Folder and an old favorite, the Lovely As a Tree stamp set.  And, yes, Jean, I used a spider.  She knows how much I hate spiders.  I go running whenever I see one.  Sad thing is, I have to come back to do away with the critter.  It's really a funny undertaking and I'm sure you all would laugh until you fell off your chairs should you ever have the privilege of seeing me go into action.

Just for the record, no, I don't consider Halloween a holiday but my oldest son does.  I'm not sure where he gets that from but I can assure you it's not from my side of the family!  :-)   I made this card just for him.  It's going to be included in the care package I'm sending off to him in a few days.  I just have to finish getting the things I want to include.

Stamp Sets:  Happy Scenes, Lovely As a Tree; Ink:  Basic Black Archival; Cardstock:  Basic Black, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Tangerine Tango, Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Woodland Embossing Folder, Hearth & Home Framelits Dies, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Triple Banner Punch, Silver Cording Trim, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details, SNAIL Permanent Adhesive, Glue Dots, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

For my second project, I focused on Thanksgiving.  I think it is a nearly forgotten holiday other than you get the day off from work.  I'm one of those who waits until the day after Thanksgiving to start looking forward to Christmas.  The only exception is making Christmas cards throughout the year as a member of the Design Team for Christmas Card Challenges.  It's nice to have them all done and ready to go when the time comes.

These are the cards that I'll be sending out to my family.  I combined three of my favorite stamp sets, For All Things, Teeny Tiny Wishes and You've Got This.  The little label is made using the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  I stamped the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto Whisper White cardstock then, punched it out using the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  As you can see, it fits perfectly in the punched piece.  Hey, no one told me it had to make a flower.  :-)

This is how I finished the inside of the card.

Stamp Sets:  For All Things, Teeny Tiny Wishes, You've Got This; Inks:  Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Tip Top Taupe; Cardstock:  Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper, Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Lots of Labels Framelits Dies, Boho Chic Embossing Folder, Corner Rounder Punch, Festive Flower Builder Punch, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Pearl Basic Jewels, Dimensionals, SNAIL Permanent Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

My final project is all about Christmas.  It uses the new Peaceful Wreath stamp set, the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies and the new Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  It doesn't show up well but the stamped bow has a Gold Cording Trim bow added on top of it.  It probably would have shown up better had I used a different color of ink for the stamped bow.  Oh, and can I just say I love those Home for Christmas Enamel Dots!  I know, I got a little carried away.  :-)  I hope Stampin' Up!® comes out with more of those.

Stamp Set:  Peaceful Wreath; Inks:  Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Real Red; Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla; Accessories & Tools:  Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Gold Cording Trim, Home for Christmas Enamel Dots, SNAIL Permanent Adhesive, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.
