Happy Birthday, Heather!

My friend and stamping buddy, Heather, has a birthday today.  The card is on its way and should arrive just in time to let her know I'm thinking of her on her special day.  It's been such a busy summer for her, that we've not had a lot of time to spend crafting together.  She loves pink, so I added as much pink as I could to her card but not so much it looked like Pepto-Bismol.  :-)  Because I love blues, I don't have a lot of pink paper on hand but I really like the way this came together.  The sketch made all the difference.

Stamp Set:  Bloom with Hope; Ink:  Mossy Meadow; Card Stock:  Pistachio Pudding, Great White (Darice), Baby Girl Paper Pad (DCWV); Accessories & Tools:  Scalloped Circle Punch, 2013-2015 In Color Sequins, Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker's Twine, Dimensionals
All Stampin' Up!® Product unless otherwise noted.

The sketch can be found, HERE, over at RetroSketches.

A Blanket of Bright Flowers

Yesterday's sunshine and warm temperatures had me wishing that Spring really was here to stay.  I am so looking forward to the bright and beautiful flowers and the luscious green coats of the trees.  But until that happens, I'll just have to rely on pretty patterned papers like the one I used on the card I made for the RetroSketches Challenge.  Don't you just love those bright, cheerful flowers?

Stamp Set:  Fabulous Florets (Stampin' Up!); Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Crisp Cantaloupe (Stampin' Up!), Ki Color Crush Paper Pad (Hampton Art); Accessories & Tools:  Petite petals Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack Flower, Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker, Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!), White Opaque Pen (Inkssentials)

Here is the sketch I used from the RetroSketches Challenge.

Happiness

Today I've combined a sketch challenge with a color challenge.  Retro Sketches meet Dynamic Duos.  I think they played well together.  I, for the life of me, could not find an umbrella stamp which I thought I had  so I improvised.  I found a piece of Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper, that is retired from Stampin' Up!®, but had a cute little umbrella.  On the inside of the card, I added a strip of the same patterned paper I used on the front just to add a bit of pizzazz.  You just see it peeking out on the lower left of the card.

Stamp Set:  Loving Thoughts (Stampin' Up!);  Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper - retired (Stampin' Up!), Sunshine (My Mind's Eye); Accessories & Tools:  Scallop Oval Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!), 1/8" Vanilla Ribbon.

And, here is where I got my inspiration.  Just click on either image to go the the Retro Sketches Sketch Challenge Blog or the Dynamic Duos Color Challenge Blog.  I've just recently been introduced to both so it was fun to be able to play along with the two.
