Pals Paper Arts #219

Okay, so I'm procrastinating.  I'll admit it!  I should be finishing up three sets of swaps I need to have done within the next two weeks.  Instead, I'm playing along with the great color challenge over at Pals Paper Arts.  I totally love these colors and, thanks to Angie Crockett, I have a wonderful single layer card design to CASE (Copy And Share Everything).   To see her card, you can visit her Body, Mind, Spirit, and STAMPS!

For my 'clouds,' I made a template using the Cloud Punch from My Digital Studio.  I printed it out then, cut around the clouds.  Using the cloud mask, I first sponged Crushed Curry over the entire area.  Then, sponged Cajun Craze to give the varying definitions of color.  I used Always Artichoke to stamp the image and sentiment from the For All Things stamp set found on page 41 of the 2014 Holiday Catalog.

Stamp Set:  For All Things; Inks:  Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry; Card Stock:  Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Sponge Dauber

Clean and simple and full of wonderful Fall colors. You can find the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge HERE.

Green and Gold and Purple, Oh My!

A few months ago, someone asked me if I would help with invitations for a birthday party, to be held in February of next year, that had a Mardi Gras theme.  When I first saw Justin Krieger's card, it was perfect for the birthday invitation.  So, I knew I was going to CASE (Case And Share Everything) it.

I wanted the traditional colors of Mardi Gras and with a little research, I found those colors to be green, gold and purple.  I didn't have a current sentiment stamp that I liked for my card so, I dug out my retired Define Your Life.  It's one of the few sets that I have kept from those that have retired since I've been a Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator.

Stamp Set:  Four Feathers, Define Your Life (retired); Ink:  Elegant Eggplant; Card Stock:  Elegant Eggplant, Wild Wasabi, Gold Foil Sheets, Vellum; Accessories & Tools:  Confetti Stars Punch, Four Feathers Framelits Die, Mustache Framelits Die, Chalk Talk Framelits Dies, VersaMark, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, SNAIL Adhesive, PEARLustre Amethyst Embossing Powder(non-Stampin' Up!®), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine
All Stampin' Up!® Product unless otherwise noted.

This was a really fun card to make and I want to thank Justin for the inspiration.  Here is the card that Justin designed.  I love the black and orange he used.  Click on his name above or the photo below to see his blog post about his card.

It's a New Watercooler Challenge

The challenge this week is to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a project from the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.  The project I chose to CASE can be found on page 158 of the Annual Catalog.  It's the one on the upper left.  As you can see, I changed things up a bit.  CASE-ing doesn't necessarily mean you have to make an exact duplicate of the design.

One of the new 2014-2016 In Colors that I really like is Tangelo Twist.  Honestly?  That really surprised me as I really don't like orange but there is something about this one that just reached out and grabbed me.  I also wondered how it would look paired with Blackberry Bliss, another of the new colors.  Now I know.  I must say that I like the two together.  Wonders never cease!

Stamp Sets:  Petite Petals, Work of Art (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Tangelo Twist, VersaMark (Stampin' Up!); Card Stock:  Blackberry Bliss, Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!); Accessories & Tools:  Bird Builder Punch, Petite Petals Punch, White Embossing Powder, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Mini Glue Dots (Stampin' Up!)

The Whisper White Baker's Twine really look blah when I put it on the card.  Before I attached it to the card, I sponged some Tangelo Twist over it and gave it a new look.  It was just the right touch of color to keep the little bow from blending in to the point of invisible.

You can find all the details and play along with the Watercooler Challenges HERE.

CASEing Allison

It's CASE time again at Flourishes.  While I didn't have all of the cool things Ally used in her card, I improvised with those that I had.  The colors and basic layout are all from Ally's project but I did change the orientation of the card since I used the Anemones stamp set and it is a tall one.  To see more of her beautiful designs, click HERE and head over to the Flourishes blog.

Stamp Set:  Anemones (Flourishes); Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento); Copic:  Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19, YG11, YG13, YG17, E37; Card Stock:  Classic White (Flourishes), Signature Collection Gingham (Creative Imaginations); Accessories & Tools:  Anemones Silhouette Cut File (Flourishes), Corner Rounder Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Scallop Oval Punch and Snowburst Embossing Folder (Stampin' Up!), Rhinestones,  Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!)

Now here is Ally's card that was my inspiration.  I love her strawberries.

Now I'm off to finish up some more challenge projects.  I love participating in challenges as they keep me creating and provide such wonderful inspiration.

Until next time. . .happy creating!

Morning Cup Perk Up

Since I first saw this stamp set, it has been on my wish list.  It is now on the shelf in my craft room.  Woo! Hoo!  This card is a CASE of one that my upline, Andrea had in her tray of swap cards.  When I offered to buy it from her, she took pity on me and simply let me have it.  She is so generous that way.  Mine is a bit different in that I did not layer as much as the original.  And the fact that I love my coffee, just added to the appeal of the whole stamp set.

Stamp Sets:  Morning Cup, Mixed Bunch; Ink:  Soft Suede; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Neutrals Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack - Soft Suede; Accessories & Tools:  Word Window Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Mini Brads, 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber

Okay, so here is my second post of the day.  Technically, it should be my first post of the day but as I said in the previous post, I missed yesterday so the first post was yesterday's post and the second post is today's post.  Now I'm all caught up again.

Until we meet again...
