WWC307 - Heidi's Challenge: Anything Feminine Goes

Given the fact that the vast majority of my craft supplies still reside in totes, I was able to make this simple heart filled card from what supplies I could find.  A few scraps of patterned paper, some sequins and a wee bit of glue and this is what I made.  It could be a Valentine, anniversary or simply a thinking of you card.

Well, the move is complete.  The train ride was wonderful.  Seeing my youngest granddaughter for the first time was a joy.  She is so precious.  Now it's time to get all of those totes unpacked and my house in order. I have a very cute little apartment and am having so much fun furnishing it.

For all of our challenge details and to share your project, visit the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge by clicking the image below.  We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Monday, February 8th at 6:00 p.m. Central Standard Time to link up your project.

Love Is In The Air

Here is another card I made to send to one of my friends or someone in my family.  It's a very simple design but I love that patterned paper.  This one happens to be one without the foil accents.  The red heart was punched from the patterned paper as the design fits perfectly with the scalloped heart punch.  It's foil but you can't really see that as it did not photograph well.

This is what the inside of the card looks like.  Since I always write a note in the cards I send, I like to leave plenty of room.

Stamp(s):  Heartfelt (Stampin' Up!)
Ink(s):  Real Red
Cardstock:  Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Patterned Paper:  From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper (Stampin' Up!)
Punch(s):  Heart Punch Pack (Stampin' Up!)

I'm linking up my card in the following challenge(s):

Sending Love & Hugs

With Valentine's Day just a little over a month away, I thought it was time to get some cards made to send to family and friends.  I usually have a few on hand but not this year.

To start, I cut out the oval, then ran it through an embossing folder to add some texture.  I punched a red heart and a black heart and layered them together.  The sentiment was stamped on white using black ink.  I attached it to the hearts and popped it up using foam tape.

Stamp(s):  Best Sentiments (Altenew)
Ink(s):  Jet Black (Altenew); Real Red (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Stitched Ovals Stacklets (Taylored Expressions)
Punches:  Sweetheart Punch (Stampin' Up!)
Other:  Sheet Music Embossing Folder (Taylored Expressions)
Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen

I tried to show a close up of the heart to show off the shmmer but it just wasn't cooperating.  There is a very pretty shimmer to it thanks to my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

Simple Little Valentine

With Valentine's Day just a few weeks away, I've been getting busy and making cards for family and friends.  Here is a very simple but pretty card that is quick and easy to make.  I tend to use non-traditional colors but this would be very pretty in red and white.

Stamp Set:  Butterfly Basics, Perpetual Birthday Calendar, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Inks:  Night of Navy, Sweet Sugarplum; Cardstock:  Whisper White

My card has been entered in the Stampin' Royalty Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #102

It won't be long and Valentine's Day will be upon us.  With eleven grandchildren, I need to get busy.  Even the big kids love to get cards from Grandma.  This is the first of those eleven.

It's a Clean and Simple challenge this week.  Libby is hosting and has given us the theme of Love using red on white.  I think it makes for a pretty card even though I'm usually one who does more nontraditional colors.  I really like the way this one turned out.

Stamp Set:  Heart Balloons (My Favorite Things); Ink:  Red; Cardstock:  Real Red, Whisper White, Whisper White Think; Other:  Heart Balloons Dies, Staggered Heart Border Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

For all the challenge details and to share your project, visit Watercooler Wednesday Challenges by clicking the image below.  We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday, January 23rd at 6:00 p.m. Central Time to link your project.

The Friday Mashup! Challenge #196 & Watercooler Challenges #17

With Valentine's Day just a few days away, I had time to make one last card that I needed.  My original idea was to do this in blues but the challenge over at The Friday Mashup was a perfect fit for what I had in mind.  We could create a project using the colors of red, white and pink or create a project using a love theme or do the mash up and create a love themed project using the challenge colors.  I used a lot of white and love how it turned out.  I think my oldest granddaughter will like it.

Stamp Sets:  Butterfly Basics, Pictogram Punches; Inks:  Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding, Real Red; Card Stock:  Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Corner Rounder Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Pink & White Baker's Twine (American Crafts), SNAIL Adhesive, Glue Dots, Dimensionals
All Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

The inspiration for my card is from The Friday Mashup Challenge.

I've also added my card to the Watercooler Challenges.  It fit the Valentine challenge.  Be sure to check it out, too.

Valentine Treat Boxes

Well, that's what happens when you have a deadline and you wait until the last minute to get things done.  An order for three Valentine treat boxes came in on Friday and I said I'd have them done for her on Monday.  I just finished them up and I see it's now Monday morning.  I made it with time to spare as I won't see her until mid-morning.  Whew!

Stamp Set:  Delightful Dozen (Stampin' Up!); Ink:  Strawberry Slush (Stampin' Up!); Card Stock:  White, Red, Patterned Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Adorning Accents Edgelits, Hearts Collection Framelits, Chalk Talk Framelits

I want to thank Julie Davison for the great tutorial for these very cute little boxes.  They take no time to make and can be adapted for any occasion.  I think I need to make some of these for my grandkids.  You know, my big kids just might enjoy a little Valentine treat as well.  Guess I'd better get busy!

Be My Valentine

With so many guys in my family, I needed to come up with another Valentine card that wouldn't offend any masculine egos!  :-)   The sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches was the perfect clean and simple sketch to keep one of my guys happy.

Stamp Sets:  My Little Valentine - retired, You Are Loved - retired (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Smoky Slate (Stampin' Up!), Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  Smoky Slate, Champagne Glimmer Paper (Stampin' Up!), Maggie Holmes Patterned Paper (Crate Paper); Accessories & Tools:  Hearts Collection Framelits, Full Heart Punch, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!)

With just a touch of the glimmer paper, it kept it from being a rather dull card.  Sparkle helps every time whether it's for a guy or a gal.

Here is the sketch I used from Freshly Made Sketches.

My Heart POPS for You

Whew!  One down and only eleven to go!  I'm in Valentine mode trying to get all of the cards done I need to send to my children and grandchildren.  I have three sons and nine grandchildren.  Looks like I'll be making hearts for a few days yet.  I may just wear out my new Heart Balloons Stamp Set before I'm done.  I had a lot of fun putting this card together.  I wanted to make it look like the balloon had actually burst and little hearts were floating out of it.  I'm not sure how well I pulled that one off but I do like the way the card turned out.  Bright, cheerful and very red and white!

Stamp Set:  Heart Balloons (My Favorite Things); Inks:  Real Red (Stampin' Up!), Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  Whisper White, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper (Stampin' Up!); Accessories & Tools:  Delicate Doilies Die-namics, Heart Balloons Die-namics, Cute Cameras 2 Die-namics (My Favorite Things), Whisper White Baker's Twine (Stampin' Up!), Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!)

Today I played along with the sketch over at My Favorite Things.  Here is the sketch for this week's challenge.

Valentine Grunge with Tag

Combining challenges can be a challenge in itself!  Colors and sketches, sketches and colors, I really love how it stretches me to use all the elements in each challenge.  For this card I used the sketch from The Paper Players Sketch Challenge and the colors from ColourQ Colour Challenge.  It was fun and I love how the card stock layer is actually a sleeve for the little tag.

Stamp Sets:  Gorgeous Grunge, Teeny Tiny Wishes (Stampin' Up!), Heart Balloons (My Favorite Things); Inks:  Primrose Petals, Blushing Bride (Stampin' Up!); Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Primrose Petals, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!); Accessories & Tools:  Chalk Talk Framelits, Whisper White Baker's Twine (Stampin' Up!), Rhinestones

To check out both challenges just click on the images below.  There is still time for you to play along.

Wacky Watercooler Welcome 2014 Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  So glad you have joined us here today.  Haven't the projects been fantastic and the inspiration over the top!

For my first project I wanted to showcase the cute little Petite Petals Stamp Set and the Petite Petals Punch from the Occasions Catalog.  I am really going to enjoy having this little set!

Stamp Sets:  Petite Petals, Everything Eleanor; Inks:  Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Gumball Green, Pumpkin Pie; Card Stock:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Chalk Talk Framelits, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

My next card features one of the products you can get free during Sale-A-Bration, the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  It is so different from the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder in that the dots are random and not neatly spaced.  I really like the way it looks.  I used the sketch I found at Unscripted Sketches for this card.  Sometimes when I'm making a bunch of cards at one time, I look for some inspiration from a sketch or color challenge to help me out.

Stamp Set:  Simply Sketched;  Ink:  Bermuda Bay; Card Stock:  Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Polka Dot Parade Real Red; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (Sale-A-Bration), 1/8" Silver Ribbon, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Rhinestones

With February 14th not far off, I thought it quite appropriate to share a Valentine Card with you.  Gorgeous Grunge made for some terrific backgrounds and this is a sketch I found over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Stamp Sets:  Gorgeous Grunge, Delightful Dozen; Inks:  Blushing Bride, Raspberry Ripple; Card Stock:  Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple, Rose Red; Accessories & Tools:  Hearts Collection Framelits, Rhinestone

I Heart You

You know what I love best about laptops?  I can be as miserable as can be and still be online doing my thing.  :-)   For some reason, I decided I needed to catch a very nasty, cough til your ribs hurt, cold.  Of course being out in a salvage yard with my youngest son in the snow and cold blowing wind didn't have any part of it, right?  Well, I'm on the mend and felt well enough to do a little stamping today.  Yay!  Especially, since I got a bunch of new stuff yesterday that I wanted to play with.  I can't wait to share it with you.

Today's card was made with a new stamp set from My Favorite Things.  It's called Heart Balloons and I love it!  It worked perfectly for the current challenge over at The Paper Players.  We had to create a single layer card with minimal embellishments, if any.  I love this clean and simple look!

Stamp Set:  Heart Balloons (My Favorite Things); Inks:  Crushed Curry, Raspberry Ripple, Bermuda Bay (Stampin' Up!), Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  White (Bazzill)

I did add one rhinestone right where the balloon strings meet.  It added just a bit of sparkle to the card.

Click on the image below for all the details of the One Layer Valentine Challenge at The Paper Players.

Be sure to check back tomorrow.  I am participating in the Wacky Watercooler Welcome to 2014 Blog Hop.  A bunch of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators will be showing off some of the new products from the Occasions Catalog, the Sale-A-Bration Brochure and the current Annual Catalog.  Prepare to be inspired!

Valentine Heart

Today I took a break from birthday cards and made my first Valentine card.  I'm thinking about making and sending Valentine cards to my sons and their families this year.  It's been a long time since I've done that and I think it would be fun.  I love making easel cards and it fit perfectly with Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge which is to create a 'shaped' card..

Stamp Sets:  Flower Shop, Teeny Tiny Wishes and Language of Friendship-retired (Stampin' Up!®); Inks:  Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding (Stampin' Up!®), Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Whisper White (Stampin' Up®), Patterned Paper (Crate Paper); Accessories & Tools:  Hearts Collection Framelits, Extra-Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch and Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!®), Rhinestones

As you can tell, I still haven't got my light tent set up.  There are just too many shadows to suit me but it was the best I could do.  And, yes, tomorrow I am getting that light tent set up!

Baked Brown Sugar Birthday

Today I started to work on getting all of my February birthday cards made as I have five of them scattered throughout the month.  Since I want to get some Valentine cards made, too, I think I'm going to mix it up so I don't get so bogged down with birthday cards that I go 'bleck' and don't get anything done.  :-)  Not likely, but you just never know.  Anyway, this is the card I made for my oldest younger brother.  I found the sketch on the Operation Write Home website while doing some research on their organization.

Stamp Set:  Simply Sketched (Stampin' Up!®); Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar; Card Stock:  Baked Brown Sugar, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla (Stampin' Up!®), Silver & Gold Collection (Bo Bunny); Accessories & Tools:  1/8" Silver Mini Brads, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and Stampin' Dimensionals (Stampin' Up!®), Small Octagons Dies ( Spellbinders)

Here is the sketch I used.  Just click on the image to visit the Operation Write Home website.

http://operationwritehome.org/

I love that the measurements were included.  It made it so quick and easy to make the card.  They have other sketches, too, that I want to use so be sure to check them out if you enjoy using sketches.

My Little Valentine

Okay, here is my last Valentine card for the time being.  I have three birthday cards to design for three of my grandsons.  They all have birthdays this month, one right after the other three days in a row.  I'll share those cards with you once I have them done.  Right now they are only images in my head just waiting to find their way to paper and ink.

For this card, I used some of the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper from the Spring Catalog.  It has some beautiful colors in it that I'll be sharing in future projects.

Stamps:  You Are Loved, My Little Valentine; Ink:  Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Hearts Collection Framelits, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

The Grand Opening for the Gift Shop is set for January 25th.  But, be sure to check back this Friday for all the details on how you can register to win a one of a kind gift.

Be My Valentine

Here is another Valentine card I made from previously cut supplies.  The original was also a Valentine card but the stamp set used on it has retired and I wanted to update it.  I already had a stamped blossom from the Mixed Bunch stamp set and thought it would make a great heart.

Stamps:  Delightful Dozen, Mixed Bunch, Tiny Tags; Ink:  Riding Hood Red; Card Stock:  Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Neutrals Designer Series paper Stacks; Accessories & Tools:  Full Heart Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

I love the heart punched from the Mixed Bunch blossom.  That has been a very versatile stamp set for me.

You Are Loved Valentine

With a class looming on the horizon, I've been busy trying different designs, trying to decide what ones I'll use.  Since I don't want to use retired product for this new class,  I've been re-purposing some supplies cut for earlier classes that didn't get used.  This card was originally a birthday card but I thought it would make a great Valentine card.  I'm not a big fan of pink but combined with Night of Navy, it makes for a very pretty card.

Stamps:  You Are Loved, My Little Valentine; Ink:  Night of Navy; Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Full Heart Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

The inside of the card has the Whisper White layer to allow you to write a message.  It also has been stamped with the Be My Valentine sentiment from the You Are Loved Stamp Set.  At the bottom of the white layer is a border of Pretty in Pink that was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

For more details about the Valentine Projects Class, click the Stamping Cafe Events tab at the top of the page.  There are a few spots still open so be sure to reserve yours' today.

Framed Happiness

Over the holidays, I've had a lot of time to spend crafting.  I've not had to watch my youngest grandson very much so that allowed me time to get some new items made.  I love the black, white and gray tones but the photo does not do it justice at all.  I'm thinking I need to take another one and see if I can do a better job of it.  Of course, I always blame it on the camera.

And, now I'm off to work on the projects for my January 24th Valentine class.  I have changed my mind on what we will be making so I need to get busy and make sure I have everything in order for it.

Stamp Set:  Heard from the Heart (retired); Ink:  StazOn/Black;  Paper:  Royal Metallics Wausau paper for the solid layers and flowers, Wallpaper for the background and top layer of the flowers; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Mini Brads/Silver

My Little Valentine

It's a new year!  I hope everyone had a great holiday season.  Now it's time to get back to the normal flow of days.  I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to it.  I'm glad those few weeks of busyness only come once a year.

Over the weekend I began work on the card designs and mini tote boxes we'll be making in the Valentine Projects Class at the end of the month.  Below you will find one of the cards we will make.  For more details about the class, click the Stamping Cafe Events tab at the top of the page.

Stamp:  My Little Valentine; Ink:  Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Label Punch, Small Heart Punch, Textured Impressions Embossing Folder/Cloudy Day, 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon/Pool Party, Mini Glue Dots, SNAIL Adhesive

I've also been working on new items for the Gift Shop.  The Grand Opening is coming soon so be sure to check back often to see new items and for your chance to win a free gift.

Regal Rose

The other day, while brushing my hair into a ponytail, I happened to notice the reflection of the design embroidered on the jacket I was wearing and thought what a great card it would make.  In honor of Valentine's Day, I changed the colors from blue to pinks and reds.  So, here is the inspiration and the card.

Stamp Set:  Delightful Dozen; Ink:  Regal Rose; Card Stock:  Regal Rose, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Glimmer Paper/Red, Glimmer Paper/Silver; Accessories & Tools:  Bird Builder Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Full Heart Punch, Paper-Piercing Pack/Essentials, Mini Glue Dots
