Screen Fold Card

From the time I first saw a screen fold card, I've been wanting to give it a try.  So, when I finally was hit with a bit of creativity after a few days slump, I made one.  I saw a beautiful screen card from Dawn Olchefske and watched her video on how to make it.

The Eyelet Border punch I used is a retired one from Stampin' Up!®  I don't have the new Hearts Border Punch found in the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog on page 222, but you can believe it is now on my wishlist.  I can see all kinds of possibilities with it.

When the card is open, it won't fit in my light tent, so I used an alternative location.  It's not the greatest picture but you can see more of the detail on what's on the other panels.  I love the look of Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry together.  It's a combination I don't think I've used before.

Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, Kinda Eclectic; Inks:  Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry; Card Stock:  Cajun Craze, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Label Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Eyelet Border Punch (retired), Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker's Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, SNAIL Adhesive, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Simply Scored Scoring Tool

Sunday Christmas Card Challenge #41

Hello, everyone.  This week's Sunday Christmas Card Challenge is all bout tall and skinny.  I love making tall and skinny cards.  I'm not sure why, but there is just something about them that appeals to me.  Of course, if tall and skinny is not for you, you can join in the challenge just the same.  After all, the only real requirement is that you make a holiday or Christmas card.

Stamp Set:  White Christmas; Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento; Card Stock:  Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Frosted Sequins, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer

Mojo Monday Card Sketch Challenge 361

So, what do you do when you can't sleep?  Me?  I make cards.  :-)  It's been a long week and I'm not surprised that sleep has eluded me.  At least it's Saturday and I can take it easy all the day long.  Well, for the most part.  With three sets of swap cards to design and make, a blog hop to make projects for and my Sunday Christmas Card Challenges Design Team card to design, I will definitely be busy but at least I can sit and be busy.

I am totally loving all the new product I recently purchased!  My sleepless night gave me the opportunity to use my new Holiday Home Stamp Set as well as some of the new Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon.  Now, that ribbon is really very cool.  The snowflake sequins are colored with the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities.  The roof and chimney are colored with my Copic Markers since I only have the one set of Blendabilities.  While I do have the framelits that go with the Holiday Home stamp set, I didn't use them.  For the house, I did some paper piecing.  I stamped the image on a piece of patterned paper and cut it out by hand.  It's my little Sahara Sand with Garden Green polka dot house with a Cherry Cobbler wreath above the door.  Can  you tell I get rather chatty when I'm tired.  :-)

Stamp Set:  Holiday Home; Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Tuxedo Black Memento; Blendabilities:  Coastal Cabana; Card Stock:  Early Espresso, Whisper White, Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Circles Collection Framelits, Corner Rounder Punch, Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon, Frosted Sequins, Glue Dots, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer, Crystal Effects
All Stampin' Up!® Product unless otherwise noted.

I used the sketch from the Mojo Monday Card Sketch Challenge.  They had a great sketch this week.  You can find it HERE.

Pals Paper Arts 218 and Freshly Made Sketches 152

You know how I love to combine challenges, right?  Well, this week these two challenges were made for each other!  The color challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches come together wonderfully.  Add the images from the For All Things Stamp Set found in the new Holiday Catalog and you have a clean and simple Autumn card.

Today was the first day I felt like being in my craft studio.  It's been a sad week for me as my 83 year old friend who lived across the hall from me passed away last Saturday.  I didn't want to make a sympathy card so I went with a Fall card.  I will miss him.  He loved the cards I make so this is a tribute to Bill.  I know he is again with his wife and happy now.

Stamp Set:  For All Things; Inks:  Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake, Hello Honey; Card Stock:  Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake, Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Corner Rounder Punch, Large Oval Punch, Stampin' Trimmer, SNAIL Adhesive, Dimensionals
All Stampin' Up!® Product unless otherwise noted.

CAS(E) this Sketch! #90

One of my favorite little people was here from Sunday through today.  I didn't spend much time on the computer since Zac and I were busy eating out and watching movies when we were home.  He is such a joy to have visit and it sure seems quiet now that he has gone home.

So, this afternoon found me at my craft table making a card for the current CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge.  It's a clean and simple card using the new For All Things stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.

Stamp Sets:  For All Things, Gorgeous Grunge; Inks:  Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Hello Honey; Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Baked Brown Sugar Sequins from the 2013-2015 In Color Sequin Assortment, SNAIL Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

It's anything goes week for our Sunday Christmas Card Challenge.  This year I decided to start sending Christmas cards to each of my grandchildren.  The adults will still get their grown up version.  I love this little sentiment from the Christmas Bliss Photopolymer stamp set.  Trust me, it reminds me of the grandchildren.  The eyes wiggle so the younger ones I'll send it to will love it!

Stamp Set:  Christmas Bliss; Ink:  Mossy Meadow; Card Stock:  Real Red, Silver & Gold Collection (Bo Bunny); Accessories & Tools:  Labels Collection Framelits, Owl Builder Punch, Paste-On Eyes (Darice), Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches 151 and Color Throwdown 307

It's been a while since I've contributed to the Color Throwdown Challenge so I combined it with the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I don't recall ever using Pacific Point and Crushed Curry together but I do like the effect.  While my creating time has been a bit limited lately, I finally had a chance to play with some of my new product.  The little die I used for the leaves came with a magazine I recently purchased.

I didn't add a sentiment because, at this time, I don't know if it will be a birthday, thinking of you or thank you card.  It's one of those cases where when I need it, it will fit.  :-)

Stamp Sets:  Beautiful Bunch, Kinda Eclectic; Inks:  Pacific Point, Crushed Curry; Card Stock:  Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Arrows Embossing Folder, Fun Flower Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Dazzling Details, Glue Dots, SNAIL Adhesive, Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Floral Die (unknown)
All Stampin' Up!® Product unless otherwise noted.

It's An Anniversary

Whew!  It is done!  The apartment building I live in is celebrating 35 years of service to the community.  The Facility Manager asked me to design a card for the occasion.  Their colors are Royal Blue, Red and White so I made up some samples using Pacific Point, Real Red and Whisper White.  This is the design they approved.  They needed 100, so I'm thankful it was a clean and simple design they chose.  I love how it turned out!

Stamp Set:  Gorgeous Grunge, Kinda Eclectic, Feeling Sentimental (retired); Inks:  Hello Honey, Pacific Point, VersaMark Watermark Pad; Card Stock:  Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Label Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, SNAIL Adhesive, Simply Scored Score Board, Stampin' Trimmer, Dimensionals

It's a sketch challenge this time at the Watercooler Challenges.  I decided to keep my card very Clean and Simple (CAS).  I stayed with mostly greens except for the wee bit of yellow and white.  As you may be able to tell, I've still not changed the bulb in my photo lamp.  Guess I really need to get that done.

We'd love to have you join us in this week's challenge.  Just click on the sketch below to go right on over to the Watercooler Challenges blog for all the details.

Freshly Made Sketches 150

It has been a really busy week and a very hot one.  Top that off with a few days where I wasn't feeling as well as I should and you have me waiting until the last minute to get my card made for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.  I just loved the simplicity of this sketch and anything with flowers gets my attention.

I just have time for a short post before heading over to my neighbor's for a visit.  Bill just got home today from the hospital after taking a fall at home.  Nothing broken, for which everyone is very thankful.  And, no, this card is not for him.  I've got a different one all ready to take over to him.

The Wacky Watercooler August Blog Hop

Welcome!  It's good to have you stop by on your way around the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop.  If you came here from Stephanie Pletscher's blog, didn't she have some great projects?  Are you enjoying your chance to see a sneak peak at the 2014 Holiday Catalog?  You'll be able to order from the new catalog come August 28th.  You are going to love it all!

For my first card, I went with a summer theme.  School has started here and summer is winding down.  It won't be long and the leaves will be changing and the weatherman is going to start talking about snow.  I thought some pretty flowers would remind us that summer is not over and we still have time to enjoy the pretty flowers.

Stamp Sets:  Petite Petals, Flower Shop, Four You; Inks:  Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Pistachio Pudding, Mossy Meadow; Card Stock:  All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Petite Petals Punch, Blossom Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Circles Collection Framelits, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, 2013-2015 In Color Sequins, Pearl Basic Jewels, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Stampin' Trimmer, SNAIL Adhesive, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

Now it's on to showing you some of what's in that new Holiday Catalog.  This card is a very clean and simple design using the new Christmas Bliss Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I love those cute little trees!

Stamp Set:  Christmas Bliss; Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow; Card Stock:  All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Chalk Talk Framelits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Stampin' Trimmer, SNAIL Adhesive, Dimensionals

My last card features the Beauty of the Season Stamp Set and it's available to order right now.  That's right!  If you love this stamp set as much as I do, you can purchase it today and get a jump start on creating your Christmas projects.  It's been some time since I did any coloring and boy, do I need more practice!

Pals Paper Arts 215

It's a color challenge over at Pals Paper Arts.  I needed a gift card holder and the one we made at stamp club yesterday was perfect.  I changed it up for this one since I needed to use the challenge colors of Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black.  I love these colors together.

Sunday Christmas Card Challenge #38

Dry embossing, wet embossing.  That's the optional challenge for this week's Sunday Christmas Card Challenge.  I opted to do both.  I embossed the Whisper White using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  For the image, I heat embossed the cardinal using Pewter Embossing Powder.  Wet embossing and heat embossing are different terms for the same technique.  The photo does not do this card justice!  The natural light did not show the card off to advantage.  I miss my light tent!  I keep forgetting to add the bulb to my shopping list.

Stamp Set:  Beauty of the Season; Inks:  Blackberry Bliss, VersaMark Watermark Pad, E39 Copic Sketch Marker; Card Stock:  Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Label Punch, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Pewter Embossing Powder, Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker's Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Dimensionals
All Stampin' Up!® Product unless otherwise noted.

Please visit Sunday Christmas Card Challenges HERE for details and to join us for this week's challenge.

Beautiful Punch Board Flowers

Hello, everyone!  I just have time for a quick post today as I overslept, a rarity, and I'm meeting a friend at the theater to watch "Into the Storm."  I'll let you know if it was worth the time.  I have a free pass so I won't be too disappointed is I don't care for it.

Anyway, while watching movies at home, I didn't want to just sit and watch so I pulled out my flower punch board and some patterned papers and went to work.  I'm making new bouquets for the ladies who work in the office at my apartment complex.  The punch board makes it very easy and quick to make up the flowers.  You can make flowers from XXS (3" diameter) to XXL (22-1/2" diameter).  The sizes I used for my three layered flowers XXS (3" diameter), XS (4" diameter) and S (5" diameter).  I'm thinking the XXL will make a nice size to put on my door.  Will have to give that a try.

The only thing I need to add to the flower stems are the leaves.  You can even make those with the flower punch board.  I'm thinking some Christmas flowers are going to decorate my home this year.  I can't wait to get some of the new Christmas Designer Series Paper in my next Stampin' Up!® order!

Just Add Ink 226

It's a short post for you today but I wanted to share the card I made for the Just Add Ink Challenge this week.  I loved the simplicity of this sketch.  Given how early in the morning it was when I made my card, it's a good thing it was an easy one to put together.  I think my eyes are crossing!

All the Stampin' Up! Product used is noted below.  The paper doily is from Bo Bunny.

The sketch can be found HERE at Just Add Ink.

Paper Players 208 and RetroSketches 127

You know, there are just so many challenges out there I like that I can't keep up with all of them.  :-)  Today's card is a combination of challenges.  I loved the sketch from RetroSketches and the colors from The Paper Players.  Two great challenges, one pretty card.

Something that I am doing differently these days, is not listing all the product under my photo.  Instead, you can find all the product listed at the end of this post.  It's much easier and it lets you see exactly what the product looks like.  Oh, just so you know, the flowers were punched from a scrap left over from another project.  The Square Lattice Embossing Folder that was used is now retired so you won't see that in the list below.

All Stampin' Up!® Product.

Watercooler Challenge #6

Okay, I got a little dotty with my card but I do so love polka dots.  Our challenge this time was to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a fellow member of the Watercooler.  I chose Heidi Weaver's card because I love that Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  I used mostly the same colors but for my background I used Blackberry Bliss instead of Basic Black.  My little butterfly is different in that it is Hello Honey instead of the Crisp Cantaloupe Heidi used and my rhinestones are colored using the Coastal Cabana Blendabilities.  I pulled Hello Honey from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack.

You know,  there are just days when some things just don't go as well as you wanted.  My big butterfly wiggled his wing and my top layer went tilt just as I pressed it to the card stock.  So, while there are a few imperfections, I bravely shared the original rather than start over.  :-)

Stamp Set:  Kinda Eclectic; Inks:  Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey, Pistachio Pudding, Tuxedo Black Memento; Blendabilities:  Coastal Cabana; Card Stock:  Blackberry Bliss, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, SNAIL Adhesive, Dimensionals

Here is the card Heidi Weaver made.

Sunday Christmas Card Challenge #37

Don't you just love poinsettias?  I know I do.  They are a bright spot every Christmas in my house.  This week's Sunday Christmas Card Challenge color challenge featured an inspiration photo of a poinsettia.  I had to get creative with some of my color choices but the flower, itself, uses the colors from the photo.  I used the Bird Builder Punch to make my poinsettia.  Then, stamped over the punched pieces using the tree from the retired Christmas Lodge stamp set, to give the flower a sort of vein look.  :-)

Stamp Sets:  Beauty of the Season, Christmas Lodge (retired); Inks:  Mossy Meadow, Y17 Copic Sketch Marker; Card Stock:  Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Rose Red, Whisper White, Sahara Sand; Accessories & Tools:  Bird Builder Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Gold Pearl Mist (Creative Imaginations), Dimensionals
All Stampin' Up!® Product unless otherwise noted.

You can join us for this week's color challenge HERE.  We'd love to see what you create!
