WWC167 - Gail's "All About Christmas" Challenge

This week Gail is hosting our "All About Christmas" challenge this week at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  I love our Christmas challenge as it allows me to make my cards throughout the year and not get bogged down with making them all at once at the end of the year.  When the time comes, all I have to do is address the envelopes, write a short note in each card and put them in the mail.  Gotta love it!

We'll be Friends until...

Sometimes it is just fun to bring out an old stamp set that you haven't used in a white and get creative with it.  And, it fits the theme over at the Less is More Challenge.  It's to "bring something back" and it could be a technique or a stamp set or a die but it's one you've haven't used for a time.  The Just Kidding stamp set is one I've had for a while and it is one of the very few humorous ones I have.  It was fun to get it out and play with it again.

Stamp Set:  Just Kidding (Stampin' Up!)
Ink:  Oreo (Taylored Expressions)
Stampin' Write Markers:  Blush Blossom, Dapper Denim, Soft Suede, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Delightful Daffodil (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Patterned Paper:  Christmas Carol (Graphic 45)
Other:  Night of Navy Baker's Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

I've entered my car in the Less is More Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

WWC166 - Kath's Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge

This week Kath is hosting our Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  I had some fun with my oxide inks making a pretty background for my hot air balloons.  Before I added the inks, I stamped the background with VersaMark Watermark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I colored the balloons with my Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol, then fussy cute them out and added them to the card front.  The finishing touch was adding a few Sugar Cube Enamel Dots in the shape of stars.

Stamp Sets:  Stitched Scenes 2, Twinkle Twinkle Background (Taylored Expressions)
Ink:  Oreo (Taylored Expressions), VersaMark Watermark Ink
Distress Oxide Inks:  Black Soot, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Faded Jeans (Tim Holtz)
Prismacolor Colored Pencils:  30% Cool Grey, White, Violet Blue, Orange, Violet, Mulberry, Hot Pink, Process Red, Apple Green, Jasmine, Grass Green
Cardstock:  Mixed Media Paper Vellum Surface (Strathmore), Sugar Cube, Shimmer White (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Stars Framelits Dies (Stampin' Up!)
Other:  Sugar Cube Enamel Dots (Taylored Expressions)

CAS Colours & Sketches #268

This week we have another great color challenge at the CAS Colours & Sketches and the Design Team has some awesome inspiration to get you started.  So, show us what you can do with these wonderful colors.

Well, Spring left us this past weekend and winter dumped a bunch snow all over us.  If you're like me, you are probably wondering when Spring is going to get here to stay.  The best way I know to combat winter's return is to make a card full of pretty flowers.  This one is very clean and simple.  I had this scrap of white so I used the challenge colors to stamp some pretty flowers and make a wee bit of my own patterned paper.  I wanted to add some leaves but green wasn't allowed this time.

Stamp Set:  Bloomin' Birthday Stamp & Die Combo (Taylored Expressions)
Inks:  Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)

WWC165 - Tenia's "All About Occasions" Challenge

This week Tenia is the host at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for our "All About Occasions" challenge.  The card I'm sharing is one I made in a class I took at the Taylored Expressions Studio.  I learned how to add color with my Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol.  This was the very first time I've used this technique and I love it!

The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Bunny rabbit

Hi everyone!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new challenge from The Sisterhood of Crafters.  This week Vickie is our host and she has challenged us to design a project showcasing bunny rabbits.  With the cold, snowy weather we've been having, not many bunnies are straying far from their nests.  I thought it would be fun to create a scene where the bunnies were out enjoying some warm sunshine.

Cardstock:  Wild Wasabi, Always Artichoke, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Garden Green (Stampin' Up!), Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #267

This week we have a great sketch for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  The Design Team has some wonderful inspiration to get you started.  So, show us what you can do with these great colors.

The other day I watched a video by Taylored Expressions and Taylor had created this beautiful flowered background using three of her new inks.  So, I just had to CASE it.  To fill in the white spaces after the flowers and leaves were stamped, I used a stylus.  That's the little trick I learned from Taylor.

Stamp Sets:  Bloomin' Birthday (Taylored Expressions), Maymay's Two Lips - sentiment (Maymay Made It); Inks:  Guava, Confetti Cake, Lime Zest, Strawberry Milkshake, Lemon Meringue (all Taylored Expressions); Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions); Other:  White Embossing Powder

Crafty Calendar Challenge - Buttons and/or Bows

Wow, March has come and gone and I'm now a year older!  Time does fly when you are having fun.  And, I sure did have fun creating my latest project for the Crafty Calendar Challenge.  For this challenge you are to add a button and/or a bow.  I didn't want to cover up too much of my pretty image, so I opted to add a double bow, to one side of the sentiment, using white twine.  Our sponsor this month is A Day for Daisies Digital Stamps.  For all the challenge details and to share your project at the Crafty Calendar Challenge, just click HERE.

As you may know, I love flowers.  When I saw this Bachelor Buttons image from A Day for Daisies, I fell in love with it's simplicity.  I started by printing my image off using my inkjet printer.  I always let my ink dry overnight to be sure it is good and dry before I start coloring my image.  It's a sure way of not having the ink run when coloring.  I'm really pleased with the way this turned out.

Stamp Sets:  Bachlor Buttons in a Mason Jar (A Day for Daisies Digital); Ink:  VersaMark; Cardstock:  Dapper Denim (Stampin' Up!), Mixed Media Paper (Strathmore); Dies:  Double-ended Flag Stacklets Dies (Taylored Expressions), Stitched Rectagle Stacklets (Taylored Expressions); Other:  Prismacolor Colored Pencils, Gamsol, Pewter Embossing Powder, Whisper White Baker's Twine

WWC164 - Marsha's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge

This week I'm your host at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge for our Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge.  For my design, I chose this wonderful hollyhock flower to color with my Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol.  It turned out so much better than I expected.  I love it!

Hollyhocks always remind of my grandmother.  She had this huge back yard and grew so many beautiful things.  When the hollyhocks would start blooming, she would make dolls out of the blossoms and let me play with them.  It was like having my very own dancing flowers.  Such sweet memories of Grandma.

Stamp Sets:  Jumbo Hollyhock (Stampendous), Apron of Love - sentiment (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Marina Mist, Oreo, VersaMark; Cardstock:  Sugar Cube, Oreo; Dies:  Double-ended Flag Stacklets (Taylored Expressions); Other:  Chicken Wire (Taylored Expressions), White Embossing Powder, Glossy Accents

CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #266

This week we have a wonderful color challenge at the CAS Colours & Sketches and the Design Team has some wonderful inspiration to get you started.  So, show us what you can do with these great colors.

With Spring having sprung and all the pretty flowers not far away, I thought a butterfly would be a great way to use these colors.  While it isn't showing well, the layer behind the vellum butterfly is Rich Razzleberry.  A wee bit is peeking out just at the top edge of the butterfly.

Stamp Sets:  Simply Stamped - Butterflies -sentiment (Taylored Expressions), Timeless Textures (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Calypso Coral, Rich Razzleberry; Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Rich Razzleberry, Sugar Cube, Vellum; Dies:  Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies, Butterflies Thinlits Dies (both Stampin' Up!); Other:  Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #258

Hello and welcome to another sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  Today I felt like doing something a wee bit different.  Rather than make a normal card, I made an easel card.  The easel will fold down so, if I choose to send this to someone, it will lay flat in an envelope.  Well, come to think of it, the flowers would get mushed so I'll have to think of a different way to send it.

Stamp Set:  Botanical Bookplates - sentiment (Flourishes); Distress Inks:  Victorian Velvet, Tumbled Glass, Crushed Olive, Mustard Seed, Dusty Concord; Distress Oxide Inks:  Faded Jeans, Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick; Dies:  Double-ended Flag Stacklets Dies (Taylored Expressions), Small Easel Die (Tim Holtz); Other:  Mini Art Is Stencil (The Crafters Workshop), Powder Blue Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Tonic Studios); Wild Roses (Petaloo), Glitter
