Watercooler Wednesday Challenges #83

It's a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges.  Penny has given some wonderful options for creating some great projects.  I chose the left down line using dry embossing, any shade of green and a die-cut.  I couldn't decide on a sentiment so I didn't add one.  I think this one is slated to go in my note card stash for when I just want to write a note and not have to worry about a certain sentiment for the card.

Stamp Set:  Gorgeous Grunge, Timeless Textures; Inks:  Emerald Envy, Tip Top Taupe; Cardstock:  Elegant Eggplant, Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron, Whisper White; Other:  Emerald Envy Baker's Twine, Seaside Embossing Folder, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies

For all the challenge details and to share your project, visit Watercooler Wednesday Challenges by clicking the image below.  We'd love to have you join us. You have until Monday, September 5th at 1:00 p.m. Central Time to link your project.

Butterflies

The sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge was perfect for the CAS-ual Fridays color challenge.  I love the way the butterflies line up on the card.  I had planned to pop all of them up which is why I punched all the bitty butterflies out but changed my mind and decided the only one that needed popped up was the Watermelon Wonder butterfly.

Butterflies

Stamp Sets:  Jar of Love (sentiment), Papillon Potpourri; Inks:  Basic Black Archival, Watermelon Wonder; Cardstock:  Whisper White; Other:  Bitty Butterfly Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels

Bold Flower

It isn't often that you can make a card fit three challenges but today I was able to accomplish that feat.  The sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, the colors from ColourQ and the theme from Stampin' Royalty all came together to give me this card.  I really like the bold look of it.

Bold Flower

Stamp Sets:  Butterfly Basics (sentiment), Fabulous Flora; Inks:  Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Old Olive; Cardstock:  Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky, Whisper White; Other:  Ovals Collection Framelits Dies, Postage Stamp Stacklets Dies (Taylored Expressions)

Swirly Thank You

Today's card is one that was inspired by Frenchie Martin.  I love the new Swirly Birds stamp set and when I saw the one she made, I just had to CASE  (Copy And Share Everything) it.  You can see her version Here.  The lime, teal and yellow colors I used are from the Color Throwdown Challenge.  I matched what colors I had as closely as I could and I think it turned out rather well.

Stamp Sets:  Fancy Thank You (Hero Arts), Paisleys & Posies, Swirly Bird; Inks:  Bermuda Bay, Black Soot Distress Ink (Tim Holtz), Daffodil Delight, Pistachio Pudding; Cardstock:  Bermuda Bay, Whisper White; Other:  Rhinestone Basic Jewels

The colors I used are from the Color Throwdown Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Bitty Butterfly Birthday

It's a short post today simply to share a card I made for a couple of my favorite challenges, Retro Rubber Challenge and Sunday Stamps Challenge.  The colors and the sketch came together beautifully, don't you think?

Both of my stamp sets qualify for the older than a year rule at Retro Rubber.  The Bloom with Hope stamp set came out in 2014 as a Host Set.  Papillion Potpourri is over a year old, too, but I don't know the year it came out.  It's still a current set available in the Annual Catalog.

Stamp Sets:  Bloom with Hope (2014), Papillion Potpourri; Inks:  Dapper Denim, Marina Mist; Cardstock:  Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron, Soft Sky, Whisper White; Other:  Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Silver Sequin Trim, Pearl Basic Jewels

The sketch I used is from the Retro Rubber Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenges #82

It's time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and this week Libby has given us the theme of trees.  I love trees so this was a fun one for me.  I kept it very simple and used some of that gorgeous Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack and Copper Embossing Powder.  And, you can't go wrong with Lovely As a Tree.  I think it made for a very pretty card, don't you?

Stamp Sets:  Lovely As a Tree, Rose Wonder (sentiment); Ink:  VersaMark; Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack; Other:  Copper Embossing Powder

Wacky Watercooler August Blog Hop

Welcome to the Wacky Watercooler August Blog Hop!  Each month, on the third Thursday of the month, a group of us get together to hop and share projects from Stampin' Up!'s current catalogs.  It's always a lot of fun.  This month we're Stepping it up:  One, Two, Three!  We are taking the same card and showing you how to take it from a simple design to one with all the bells and whistles.

It's my privilege to start off our Hop.  I've been having so much fun creating with the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set and the Paisley Framelits Dies that I wanted to give you a sneak peek.  It is a new bundle from the upcoming 2016 Holiday Catalog that launches on September 1st.

As always, our Blog Hop runs in a circle.  Whether you start at the top and go forward or start at the bottom and go backward, you will always wind up where you started.

You should be coming to my blog from Penny Hanuszak.  Weren't her projects great!  After your visit with me, head on over to Gail Allen and her wonderful projects.

For my first card, all I did was stamping.  The center is a square layer with a design stamped on it and a rhinestone just to fill in the center of the card.  Very basic and very simple.

Stamp Set:  Paisleys & Posies; Ink:  Dapper Denim; Cardstock:  Whisper White; Other:  Rhinestone Basic Jewels

My second card is a stepped up version of the first one.  I added more layers and some twine.

Stamp Set:  Paisleys & Posies; Ink:  Dapper Denim, Whisper White Craft; Cardstock:  2016-2018 In color Designer Series Paper Stack, Dapper Denim, Night of Navy, Whisper White; Other:  Triple Banner Punch, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

My cards were inspired by one done by Debbie Mageed.  This third version used die-cuts and lots of layers.  While the first two used different images, the die-cuts give a special look all their own.  I had intended to use the came stamp but the die-cut I used doesn't have a stamp to go with it so it's simply the die-cute.  I really like the way this one turned out.

Stamp Set:  Paisleys & Posies; Ink:  Dapper Denim; Cardstock:  2016-2018 In color Designer Series Paper Stack, Dapper Denim, Night of Navy, Whisper White; Other:  Paisley Framelits Dies, Triple Banner Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Next up we have Gail Allen.  To see her wonderful projects, click the image below.

Amazing Grace

Today found me stumped on my projects for an upcoming Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop that I participate in each month. Nothing like waiting until the last minute which is so unlike me.  Things just weren't going well so I decided to take a time out and work on something else.  I had a few die-cuts laying about my craft desk so I put them all together and came up with this card.  It's going into my note card stash as I like to keep a box of them on hand to send notes to family and friends.

And, I also found a new challenge.  It's the Love To Scrap Challenge and this time around it's an "anything goes" challenge which is one of my favorite type of challenge.

Stamp Set:  Amazing Grace Hymn (Our Daily Bread Designs); Ink:  Night of Navy; Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe; Other:  Paisley Framelits Dies, Petal Pop-Up 2 (Taylored Expressions), Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, Metal Rimmed Pearl

My card was entered in the Love To Scrap Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenges #81

This week's Watercooler Wednesday Challenge is all about color.  Gail has given us four colors that I don't often use so it was a real challenge for me.  But, I had a new stamp set to play with so the card came together much more quickly than I thought it might.  Paisleys & Posies is one of the new stamp sets that will be available in the new Holiday Catalog on September 1st.  Stay turned for some more sneak peeks.

Stamp Set:  Paisleys & Posies; Inks:  Archival Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder; Cardstock:  Pear Pizzazz, Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White; Other:  Paisley Framelits Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Christmas Magic at the North Pole

You know, I don't often watercolor as I don't think I'm good enough at it but today I dug out my inks and aqua painter and went to work.  Of course,  having a new stamp set to play with was an added incentive.  It's called Christmas Magic and is a new set that will be available in the new Holiday Catalog.  I combined two of the stamps in the set to make it look like one.  Actually the snowman and the North Pole are separate stamps.  I haven't made a Christmas card in quite some time so this was a nice change from all the flowers I've been making.

Stamp Set:  Christmas Magic; Inks:  Basic Gray, Garden Green, Jet Black StazOn, Real Red, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango; Cardstock:  Naturals White (retired), Real Red, Watercolor Paper; Other:  Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, Silver Metallic Thread, Aqua Painter

My card was made and entered in two challenges.  The "anything goes" challenge at Stampin' Royalty and the water-coloring challenge at Just Us Girls.  For the details for each challenge, click the images below.

Blue & White Birthday

It seems like forever since I've been able to keep up with making cards and blogging.  Sometimes life just gets in the way and puts everything else on the back burner.  But, I'm happy to say, the week is ending well and it is a most welcomed change.

What was really great, was to be back in the craft studio playing with some new things from the Holiday Catalog.  Instead of using a circle like on the card, I stamped an image from the Paisley & Posies stamp set in Distress Embossing Ink and added some of my favorite Copper Embossing Powder.  Then, I overlapped the die-cuts and stamped the sentiment on it.  The die I used is one from the Paisley Framelits Dies.  Both the Paisley & Posies stamp set and the Paisley Framelits Dies are from the new Holiday Catalog that you'll be able to order from beginning September 1st.

Stamp Sets:  Paisleys & Posies, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Inks:  Distress Embossing Ink (Tim Holtz), Vintage Photo (Tim Holtz), Night of Navy; Cardstock:  Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, Whisper White; Other:  Copper Embossing Powder, Night of Navy Baker's Twine, Cream Pearls

The sketch I used is from the Sunday Stamps Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenges #80

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week Heidi has challenged us to a clean and simple design with a water theme.  For our Clean And Simple (CAS), be sure to follow these simple rules:

Either a single layer upon which we stamp or a base with a single layer
upon which we stamp. Since we use embellishments for any other type of card,
no embellishments or die-cuts or anything except the simplicity of stamping
for the "clean & simple".  We will allow heat embossing since,
if one decides to use a color, heat embossing would show better
than simple stamping. But no embossing folder embossing. Clean and simple!

Stamp Set:  Jar of Love; Inks:  Island Indigo, Pool Party, Smoky Slate; Cardstock:  Whisper White

Watercooler Wednesday Challenges #79

Kath Ricks is hosting our challenge this week at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges.  She has chosen a great sketch for us to use.  My card turned out to be rather bold and bright.  I love the look of the Copper Embossing Powder on the Night of Navy cardstock.  Layering it on top of the Flirty Flamingo really made the combination pop.

Stamp Sets:  Love You Lots (sentiment), Timeless Textures, Sitting Here; Inks:  Cajun Craze, Jet Black StazOn, VersaMark;  Stampin' Write Markers:  Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum; Cardstock:  Flirty Flamingo, Night of Navy, Whisper White; Other:  Postage Stamp Stacklets (Taylored Expressions), Copper Embossing Powder, Blender Pen, Dimensionals, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  All Stampin' Up! product unless otherwise noted.
