Thinking of You

Today the sun is finally shining again and it does look a bit like spring here in the high desert of Nevada.  Flowers aren't quite blooming, yet, but I thought a bright, cheerful card was a good substitute.  Flowers that never fade.

This card does have a few layers to it.  I started by embossing the orange layerwith the Leaf Frame Cover Die.  On a piece of Whisper White, I stenciled the dots using Silver Lake ink.  Then, I glued them together and attached that double layer to a white card base.  The flowers are from the Wonderful Romance stamp set.  I stamped the outline in black and used colored pencils and gamsol to color them.  It's my favorite way to color these days.  For the finishing touch I added some iridescent bubbles that nicely reflect the color of the flowers.

Stamp Set:  Wonderful Romance (Stampin' Up!)
Ink:  Jet Black, Silver Lake (Altenew)
Pencils:  Prismacolor Colored Pencils
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Wonderful Floral Framelets Dies (Stampin' Up!)
Other:  Leaf Frame Cover Die, Feeling Dotty Stencil (Altenew), Iridescent Bubbles (Studio Katia), Gamsol

The inspiration for my card came from the Festive Friday Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Shades of Pink Hyacinth

Today I'm playing along with the Sunday Stamps Challenge 200th challenge.  I've always enjoyed their challenge and hope it continues for many more challenges.  Here is a pretty pink hyacinth I made to celebrate the occasion.

I started with a Powder Pink card base.  To that I attached a layer of Soft Sea Foam after embossing it using the Candy Stripes Embossing Folder from Tim Holtz.  The hyacinth is one I did a while ago.  I used the Build-A-Flower:  Hyacinth stamp set and dies by Altenew.  I used foam tape to pop it up for some dimension.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the hyacinth.  I added some Snowball Droplets from Ellen Hutson   For the finishing touch, I added sparkle to the flower using Spectrum Noir's Sparkle Pen.  A simple but pretty Spring card.

The sketch I used is from the Sunday Stamps Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

WWC212 - Tristan's "All About Occasions" Challenge

Well, Wednesday has come around again and it's time for our "All About Occasions" challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Tristan is hosting this week.  We'd love to see all of your creations, so join in and celebrate occasions with us.

For my card, I used a white Center Step Card from Divinity Designs as my base.  To that, I added layers of Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper for a pretty background.  The flowers are ones I had done when I first got the Wonderful Romance stamp and Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies from Stampin' Up!  I made up several sets using Primascolor Colored Pencils and Gamsol.  The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set by Stampin' Up! and it was stamped using Jet Black ink from Altenew.
