Over the next few days, I'm going to be trying some new things.  Here's hoping they are worthy of sharing with you.

Melon Mambo Matchbook Post It Note Holder

This time last Saturday I was having all the fun at a local craft show.  One of the items I had for sale was post it note holders.  They are fun, easy to make and a useful small gift item.  They are always a hit at craft shows.

Stamp Set:  Just Believe; Ink:  Soft Suede; Card Stock:  12x12 Textured Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper (retired); Accessories & Tools:  Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Butterfly Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Blossom Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Antique Brads, Jewels Basic Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals

These are quick to make up and everyone seems to love them.  I usually have two to three different styles on hand.  I often give them out as gifts myself.

Brights Designer Buttons Bracelet

As promised here is the Make & Take Button Bracelet we made at our local demonstrator meeting last night.  It is so cool!  It takes thirty buttons, ten each of small, medium and large sizes, and about thirty minutes of your time to string and finish off.  My granddaughter is going to love it!

The Brights Designer Buttons I used are found on page 197 of the current Idea Book & Catalog.  There are three other color families that would work great for these bracelets.  The one our demonstrator, Angela, was making used the Neutrals.  It made a very striking looking bracelet.

I can't wait to teach Mariah, my granddaughter, how to make these.

Mixed Bunch Graduation

I don't know about you, but I'm already getting invitations to graduations.  Of course, that could be because most of them are only a month away.  I'm going to add a Top Note pocket to the inside that will hold either cash or gift card.  Just change the sentiment and this card would make a nice Mother's Day Card.

Stamp Sets:  Mixed Bunch, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Inks:  Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral; Card Stock:  Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

There you have it; a card with many possibilities.

Mixed Bunch Distressed

Last Saturday my upline, Andrea, invited me to attend her Webster City Stamp Club.  I always have fun when I go and she has some great designs for everyone.  One of the things I've not done a lot of is 'distressing' a card.  Two of the cards we made used the Distressing Essentials Kit shown on page 203 of the Idea Book & Catalog.  It was a lot of fun to 'age' our cards.

Stamp Sets:  Mixed Bunch, Three Little Words; Inks:  Early Espresso, Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad; Card Stock:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla; Accessories & Tools:  Distressing Essentials, Blossom Punch, Modern Label Punch, Jewels Basic Pearls, Crimper

We also did another 'distressed' card but I'll save that one for tomorrow.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know.  I would enjoy hearing from you.

Going! Going! Soon To Be Gone!

Yes, it's that time of year again.  Time to say good-bye to those stamp sets that are retiring from the 2011-2012 catalogs.  The list is longer this year due to the transition to a new Annual Catalog and there are a higher number of stamps being replaced and refreshed but our stamp lines will still be plentiful.

Here is a link to the list so you can see what's retiring at the end of May...  Retired Stamps.

Dates: April 15-May 31, 2012

Now is your chance to get those stamp sets you've had your eye on before they are gone.  Many products are only available while supplies last, so order early.

Poppy Parade Get Well

One of the cards I made for our recent llama blog hop used the combination of Poppy Parade Card Stock and Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper.  It was so bright and cheerful, I knew it be a perfect get well card.  With Poppy Parade being one of the 2010-2012 In Colors that will be retiring at the end of May, it also gave me the chance to use up the last of my Poppy Parade ribbon.

Stamp Set:  Delightful Dozen; Ink:  Pool Party; Card Stock:  Poppy Parade, Attic Boutique, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Label Punch, Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Jewels Basic Pearls, 1/2" Stitch-Poly Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Be sure to watch for tomorrow's post.  It will feature the Retiring Stamp List.  If there are any you want, you'll need to purchase them before May 31st.

Attic Boutique Petite Purse

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been whining and crying around since the Summer Smooches Special Offer began because I've been unable to make a purchase.  Well, yesterday that all ended!  A knock on my door by my very favorite person in the whole wide world and being handed a package by my very own UPS cutie, had me grinning from ear-to-ear!  A very special and wonderful friend (Jean) thought I needed a bit of a birthday surprise and she gifted me with the Petite Purse Bigz L Die!  It was the one thing I wanted most from the Smooches!

Attic Boutique Petite Purse

Card Stock:  Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Petite Purse Bigz L Die, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (flower), Mini Glue Dots

With a Craft Fair coming up in a week, I wanted to have some new things to show and these Petite Purses will be just the ticket.  I think come May 1st, they will be the perfect gift to give for May Basket Day.  Here is the first one I created.  I kept it very simple just to get the feel of it.  I can tell you that they are super easy and you can embellish them in any way you can image.

Thank you my sweet, precious friend.  You know you are appreciated!

In Colors Corner Bookmarks

Just a quick post today.  I've been spring cleaning and rearranging my living room.  I didn't get to create today other than a new layout for the furniture.  Yesterday I did manage to make some new bookmarks using 6x6 sheets of Designer Series Paper and scraps from the cards I made for the current Llama Blog Hop.  They have been doing well at the Crafters Gift Boutique.  They are quick and easy to make.

Stamp Set:  Mixed Bunch; Card Stock:  Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Blushing Bride, Concord Crush, Cheerful Treat Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, VersaMark, Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stampin' Dimensionals, Dazzling Details

Tempting Turquoise Big Wish

Do you ever have days when you say one thing and do another?  Well, that was my day.  My plan was to design a new card but time got away from me because I was working on projects for our next Stampin' Llama Hop.  They are done, posted and set to post tomorrow night at 8 p.m. so be sure to head over to http://www.hereallamathereallama.blogspot.com tomorrow evening to check them out.

For tonight, I'm going to share with you a card I made last summer shortly after Word Play and Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Emboss Powder became a part of my stamping inventory.

Stamp Sets:  Greenhouse Garden, Word Play; Ink:  Night of Navy; Card Stock:  Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Jewels Basic Rhinestones (colored with permanent marker), Stampin' Dimensionals, Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Emboss Powder

It may look a wee bit crooked in the photo but in reality it is just fine.  My cropping was off and unfortunately, I didn't take the time to redo it.  Next time I won't be in such a hurry.

Maybe tomorrow I'll actually get around to showing you that set of 3x3 cards I've been mentioning lately.

For Your Viewing Pleasure

Since I forgot to post yesterday given it was a super busy day and, once it was over, I simply sat down in my chair and crashed!  Days like that don't happen often for which I am truly thankful.  So, here are some flowers to brighten your day and to remind me that, although we had a 'freeze' last night, Spring is still in the air.

I'll have some fantastic new projects to share with you over the next few days so stay tuned.

Tagtastic Birthday

Finally, a chance to sit down at the craft table and make a real card.  Well, I've had chances but was playing with My Digital Studio and simply neglected the hands on stuff.  I'm supposed to be designing projects for an upcoming llama hop and I've kind of been putting that off.  The ideas are in my head and just need to be transferred to card stock and ink.  Sigh... time to get busy.  Not only do I have the hop to prepare for, I also have a Craft Fair in two weeks.  The card I'm sharing today is one I CASEd from a recent magazine I receive and will display at the Craft Fair.

.

Stamp Set:  Tagtastic (Hostess); Ink:  Baja Breeze; Card Stock:  Baja Breeze, Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper, Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Label Punch, 1/2" Poppy Parade Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Jewels Basic Rhinestones (colored with permanent marker), Stampin' Dimensionals, White Baker's Twine, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine

It was fun to make the chevron.  I like the brightness of the whole card and it will be a perfect birthday card for a young person.

Now I'm headed back to the craft table to get those llama hop projects done.  Hope your day is as bright and sunny as mine.

Late Night Play Time

During a lengthy phone call with a dear friend (Jean, I love our late night chats!), I was playing around with My Digital Studio and discussing it's merits with Miss Jean.  After I e-mailed her the picture, she offered up a suggestion or two and this is what the finished project looks like.  I had planned to add a sentiment but it will have to wait until my full version of My Digital Studio arrives.  I can't wait to play with more of the features that it will include.  In the meantime, it is back to the craft table getting my fingers all inked up.  I have a set of 3x3 cards in the works and you will be seeing them soon.  For now, here is the project created at somewhere between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. this morning.

Stamp Sets:  Fresh Vintage, Elementary Elegance; Inks:  Bravo Burgundy, Pool Party, Crumb Cake; Card Stock:  Brocade Blue Script; Accessories & Tools:  My Digital Studio

The butterfly was done in the Crumb Cake and the opacity was adjusted to give it a see through look.  Flipping and mirroring gave me the Fresh Vintage images.

And, there you have my last MDS creation, for now.  Once the My Digital Studio DVD Software arrives, I'll be right back it at.

Now, I'm off to the grocery store.  When I return, I'll finish that 3x3 set and posted for your viewing pleasure.

Have a great day!

What Do You Do On Your Coffee Breaks?

If you're like me, you have to keep busy even when you are taking a break.  I may only have 15 minutes for my break but that is plenty of time to add another layer to a project.  Today's project was very simple and it only took me the length of my coffee break to complete.  I love clean and simple.

Stamp Set:  Elementary Elegance; Ink:  Concord Crush; Card Stock:  Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue Script; Accessories & Tools:  Full Heart Punch

Leave a comment and let me know what do you do on your coffee breaks?

Tulip Time

The tulips have been beautiful and plentiful during this unusually warm early spring.  To brighten your day, I thought I'd share some spring beauty with you.

Enjoy!

5 Petal Flowers

There hasn't been much time to create these last few days.  I've been spring cleaning and eliminating so much stuff that I've been too tired to sit at the craft table.  After Aiden left today, I pulled up My Digital Studio and this is the card I created.  I've been using the 30-Day Free Trial and can't wait until my full set gets here.  I'll have a lot more projects I'll be able to do with it.

This program is really a lot of fun and you should give it a try.

A Birthday Gift

Last night my upline, Andrea, took me out to dinner for my birthday.  We decided to do BBQ.  Yum, my favorite!  When we were deciding whether to have dessert, Andrea let it be known to our server, Stephanie, that we were celebrating my birthday.  After we ordered dessert, we shared a brownie a la mode, Stephanie brought it to the table along with this cute and cleaver little gift!  Mini Tootsie Pops in a red bandana vase and so appropriate as the restaurant is called Bandana's.

Mini Tootsie Pop Bandana Vase

I'm going to take it with me on Sunday when I go to my youngest son's for Easter dinner.  There are just enough for each of us to have one.  The grandkids are going to love it!
