Wacky Watercooler "All Out" Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to the November Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  Each month, on the third Thursday of the month, a group of us get together to hop and share projects from Stampin' Up!'s current catalogs.  It's always a lot of fun.  This month it's all about Christmas.  You'll see projects using product from both the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog plus a few surprises along the way.  So, grab a cup, sit back and enjoy.

You should be coming to my blog from Libby Fens.  Weren't her projects great?  After your visit with me, you'll head on over to Penny Hanuszak.  You are going to love her projects.  And, as always, our Hop runs in a circle.  Whether you start at the top and go forward or start at the bottom and go backward, you will always wind up where you started.

My first card is a clean and simple design.  I actually fussy cut the scallops after tracing around a die cut from another project.  Most of the cards I make for Christmas that get mailed to family and friends are rather simple.  It does keep the cost of postage down.  This one has the holly branches Father Christmas from the Holiday Catalog.  I colored them with Old Olive and Real Red.  The sentiment is from the Reason for the Season stamp set from the Annual Catalog.

Stamp Sets:  Father Christmas, Reason for the Season; Inks:  Basic Black Archival, Old Olive, Real Red; Cardstock:  Real Red, Shimmery White, Whisper White; Other:  Rhinestone Basic Jewels

For my second card, I stamped the train image from the Christmas Magic stamp set and heat embossed it using Copper Embossing Powder. I love that copper and I think it looks well with most colors.  I keep trying it out and so far, I've not found one that I don't like the combination.

Stamp Set:  Christmas Magic; Ink:  Dapper Denim, VersaMark; Cardstock:  Dapper Denim, Whisper White; Patterned Paper:  2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack; Other:  Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Copper Embossing Powder, Radiant Rain Shimmering Ice Mist (Splash of Color), Dimensionals

It has been a while since I've used that Festive Flower Builder Punch so thought a pretty poinsettia was just the ticket for my final project.  I have to confess that the sheet music patterned paper is from last year's Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper.  For some reason I have totally neglected to buy any of the beautiful Christmas papers we have in the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog.

Stamp Set:  Reason for the Season; Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green; Cardstock:  Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Garden Green; Patterned Paper:  Home for Christmas (retired); Other:  Festive Flower Builder Punch, Radiant Rain Shimmering Ice Mist (Splash of Color), Paper Doily, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

That's it for me this time around.  We are taking the month of December off but will be back on January 5th, 2017 with the first of two mini hops to showcase the new Occasions Catalog and the new Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  You are going to love them!

Wacky Watercooler October Blog Hop

Welcome to the October edition of the Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  Each month, on the third Thursday of the month, a group of us get together to hop and share projects we've made using product from Stampin' Up!'s current catalogs.  It's always a lot of fun.  This month we are celebrating Autumn with a focus on fall colors and occasions.

You should be coming to my blog from Gail Allen.  Her projects were fantastic, don't you think?  After your visit with me, head on over to check out what projects Debbie Spano has shared with us.  And, as always, our Hop runs in a circle.  Whether you start at the top and go forward or start at the bottom and go backward, you will always wind up where you started.

One of the things I have come to love and appreciate is single layer stamping.  It's clean, it's simple and it doesn't bulk up that envelope when you are ready to send it through the mail.  For this one, I stamped the leafy branch from Crazy about You in Pumpkin Pie and added the sentiment from Paisleys & Posies stamped in Soft Suede.  And that, as they say is that!

Stamp Sets:  Crazy About You, Paisleys & Posies; Inks:  Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede; Cardstock:  Whisper White

My next project adds a couple of layers and some simple embellishments.  The "pumpkins" are stamped in Tangerine Tango using one of the images from the Work of Art stamp set.  The stems, also an image from the Work of Art stamp set, are stamped in Emerald Envy.  On the center pumpkin, I added a small twine bow and to the upper left corner I used Regals Candy Dots in Rich Razzleberry.  That is the only part of this project that is retired.  I really do miss those candy dots.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and it's stamped in Soft Suede.

Stamp Sets:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Work of Art; Inks:  Emerald Envy, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango; Cardstock:  Emerald Envy, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White; Other:  Twine, Rich Razzleberry Regals Candy Dots (retired)

My final project showcases some of the fall colors we see here in Iowa in the Autumn.  The base color is Delightful Dijon.  To that I added a strip of the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper.  On the popped up layer, Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Dijon and Whisper White.  I used the trees from the In the Meadow stamp set and stamped it in Soft Suede.  The leaf colors were done using a bundle of q-tips as a stamp.  The sentiment I used is from the retired stamp set Happy Scenes.  I love this color combination, don't you?

Stamp Sets:  Happy Scenes - sentiment (retired), In the Meadow, Timeless Textures; Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede; Cardstock:  Delightful Dijon, Rich Razzleberry, Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack, Whisper White; Other:  Pearl Basic Jewels

Now that you have seen all of my projects, it's time to move on and check out what Debbie Spano has in store for you.  Simply click on the image below to be directed to her blog.

Framed Work of Art

Okay, so I start things and don't finish them... well, not right away, that is.  Before I moved to my new apartment, I painted this frame and set it aside to dry.  Yes, I just found the tote it was hiding it.  It's been long enough now that I can't even remember what color I used since I mixed the color myself.  When I saw the new In Colors and the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, I saw this image in my head.  The sentiment is from the new Work of Art stamp set.

Stamp Set:  Work of Art (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow (Stampin' Up!); Card Stock:  Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack (Stampin' Up!); Accessories & Tools:  Frame, Acrylic Paint, White Chipboard Coaster

The new Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalog goes live on June 2nd.  You'll be able to get those new 2014-2016 In Colors (they are gorgeous!), Moonlight Designer Series Paper and Work of Art stamp set for yourself.  My store is always open.  You can access it by clicking the My Stampin' Up!® Website tab at the top of the page.

Happy Birthday, Bailey!

Today is my oldest granddaughter's birthday.  The new stamp set, Work of Art, is one that is coming out in the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog and it has already become of new favorite.  It also fit the occasion.  Bailey is a beautiful and vibrant work of art!  I'm so proud of her.  It is a joy getting get to know her as a young adult.

The inspiration for my card came from one I saw done by Maria Pane.  She used the new 2014-2015 In Colors that will be seen in the new catalog, too.  They are gorgeous!  For Bailey's card, I used the retiring 2013-2014 In Colors.  I'm sad to see them go as they are such pretty colors.  I wanted to use a sentiment from Delightful Dozen but I could not for the life of me find that set.  So, I fired up My Digital Studio and printed it on white card stock.  It's on the inside of the card and I forgot to take a picture of it.  I used Midnight Muse and surprisingly, it matches the front of the card perfectly.

Stamp Sets:  Work of Art, Delight Dozen (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit (Stampin' Up!); Card Stock:  Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!); Accessories & Tools:  Stampin' Dimensionals

Originally, I had just stamped the hearts but they just didn't show up well.  So, I stamped them again on Whisper White and fussy cut them out and used Dimensionals to pop them up.  It looks so much better.

Wacky Watercooler February Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Oh, yes!  It's time for another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop.  Don't you just love 'em!  I do.  There are so many wonderfully creative projects and no two ever seem to be alike.

For my first card I managed to use a bit of product from all of the current catalogs.  At my last Stamp Club, the ink smeared on the original center layer so I didn't finish the project and just took the parts home with me.  When I committed to the hop, this immediately came to mind.  I changed it up a bit and this is the final product.  I love these colors look together.

Stamp Sets:  Petite Petals, Trust God; Inks:  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana and  Summer Starfruit, Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  Sahara Sand, Basic black, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Scallop Edge Border Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals(Stampin' Up!)

The Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper is from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog and is one of the free choices you have when you place a $50 order with your Demonstrator.

For my second card, I went bright and cheerful.  I made this card on what would have been my mother's 88th birthday.  Instead of making it a birthday card, I went with a Mother's Day card because I love this sentiment from Delightful Dozen.  She was a wonderful mother and she loved butterflies and flowers.

Stamp Sets:  Petite Petals, Delightful Dozen; Inks:  Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral; Card Stock:  Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Labels Collection Framelits, Petite Petals Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Well, what do you know!  Again, I used product from all of the current catalogs.  And, no, this was definitely not planned but I'm on a roll!  Will it carry through for my final project?

For my third and last project, I decided to do something a wee bit different, a mixed media canvas.  As you can see, I wasn't able to carry through with a product from each of the current catalogs.  I just couldn't figure out how to use the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and make it look good on the canvas.  At the moment, it's the only Sale-A-Bration product I have until my next order gets here.  So, here is the end result.  I love those blue flowers!

And here is a close up of the sentiment.  If you look closely at the Soft Sky flowers, you can see that I added just a bit of sparkle to the center of the flower.  Thank you to Jackie Topa for the great punch art tutorial for the cute flowers.  I will definitely be making them again!

Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, Trust God, Petite Petals (used for the background); Inks:  Crushed Curry Ink Refill, Pear Pizzazz Ink Refill, Island Indigo Ink Refill, Soft Sky, Island Indigo; Card Stock:  Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Marker, Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Marker, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack Flower, Bird builder Punch, 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Antique Brad, Pearl Modeling Cream, Wedding Cake Acrylic Paint

That's all for me, folks.  Now it's time to see what great things Bev has in store for you.  Just click on the cooler below.

Spring has Sprung at Stampin' Up!

The new Spring Catalog is here and does it have some wonderful new products.  You'll find the link on the sidebar just below the Annual Catalog.  Today's card was made using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and the A Little Greeting Stamp Set.

Stamp Set:  A Little Greeting; Ink: Cajun Craze; Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder/Honeycomb, Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Small Octagons/Nestabilities

To add a bit of differences, I cut out some octagon shapes to add to the hexagon shapes of the honeycomb.  It's going to be fun trying to come up with new ways to use this embossing folder.

Joy Ornament

A friend wanted to make these ornaments as seen on page 7 of the Holiday Catalog but her schedule was such that she had no time.  I had the time, so made 28 of these for her and the prototype now adorns my tree.  I love that Silver Glimmer Paper.  Actually, I like them all.  We have Silver, Red and Champagne.  The Red and Silver are in our Annual Catalog but the Champagne is only available in the Holiday Catalog and that will be gone come January 2nd.

Stamp Set:  Joyous Celebration; Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Glimmer Paper/Silver; Accessories & Tools:  Snow Flurry Bigz Die, 3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon/Cherry Cobbler, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots

When the light hits it, the Glimmer Paper really sparkles.  It is a nice addition to my handmade only tree decorations.

Serene Silhouettes meets Trust God

Two of the stamp sets I knew I had to have, when the new Annual Catalog came out, were Serene Silhouettes and Trust God.  This is one of the cards I made for my upline's current Holiday Catalog Swap.  Because I haven't had a lot of time to be creative and the deadline was fast approaching, I kept the card on the simple side.  I really like how the Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo came together.

Stamp Set(s):  Serene Silhouettes, Trust God; Ink(s):  Island Indigo; Card Stock:  Naturals White, Lucky Limeade, Twitterpated Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  1" Square Punch, 1-3/4" Scalloped Circle Punch, Dazzling Details/Silver Sparkle, Stampin' Dimensionals

If you don't have your copy of the Annual Catalog or the new Holiday Catalog, let me know.  You can e-mail me your address and I'll put one in the mail the same day.

Fab Friday Sketch Challenge

And here we go with another new challenge blog.  It's the Fab Friday Challenge and this week it's a sketch challenge.  I had fun with this one and used some of the new Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Annual Catalog and Tulle Scallop Ribbon from our Holiday Catalog.  Once I decided to simply use the colors from the Comfort Cafe DSP, the card just seem to come together.  I love having a sketch to follow and all I need to do is pick the colors.

Stamp Set:  Loving Thoughts; Ink:  Cajun Craze; Card Stock:  Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit, Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  3-1/2" Scalloped Tulle Ribbon/Crum Cake, 1" Square Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, 3/16" Neutrals Brads/Crumb Cake

To check out this new challenge blog, click the following Fab Friday.  Tomorrow I'll share one of the swap cards I recently made.

Delightful Dozen Birthday

This is the card I made for a sketch challenge offered by Susan Roberts.  It's the first time I've played along with one of her challenges.  The winner of her challenge will receive a new Hoop La La Stamp set that is in the new Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalog.  I love to do counted cross stitch and have had my eye on this stamp since I first saw it.

Stamp Set(s):  Delightful Dozen; Ink(s):  Island Indigo; Card Stock:  Bravo Burgundy, River Rock, Baja Breeze, Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, Naturals White; Accessories & Tools:  Rhinestone Basic Jewels, 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon, 1/8" Mini Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

It was a fun challenge and come August 1st, we'll know the winner.

Delightful Dozen Congratulations

Stamp(s):  Everything Eleanor, Delightful Dozen; Ink(s):  Always Artichoke; Card Stock:  Naturals White, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Twitterpated Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Antique Brads, 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon (dyed Midnight Muse), Stampin' Dimensionals

Here is the next card that Aiden and I put together.  It's from another card sketch challenge.  It was fun to play with the different colors.  I often times use the Stampin' Up!® Color Coach to figure out different color schemes.  I'm one of those people who likes everything to match and coordinate.  The Color Coach helps get me out of that box and makes it easy to experiment with different color combinations.  This is what I did when thinking of colors for this card.  I've recently discovered Always Artichoke and, while I don't like most greens, this one has made it to my list of likes.

You can find the Color Coach on page 159 in the new Annual Catalog.  It's a handy little tool to have.  If you don't have your copy of the new catalog, just e-mail me with your name and address and I'll get one in the mail to you.

On the Grow Coaster Set

When the On the Grow set (now retired) first came out, I knew it would be perfect to use for water color. it and make up this coaster set I had in my box of projects.  Each coaster is a different color but it has been so long since I worked on them that I don't remember what colors I used.  They are now sitting in my display at the Crafters Gift Boutique just waiting to be useful in a new owner's home.

Over the next few days be sure to check back often.  With the new Annual Catalog and a new Stampin' Up!® year, I have lots of new 'stuff' to share with you.  There just never seems to be enough hours in the day.

Contact me, if you have any questions.  I'm here to help.

Summer Starfruit Hello

On Friday, June 1st, the new Annual Catalog is making its debut.  I wanted to show you a card I designed using one of the new 2012-2014 In Colors.  Five new ones, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit, are being added; they are absolutely gorgeous and I love them all!  I paired the new Summer Starfruit with the Island Indigo, which is one of the 2012-2013 In Colors.

Stamp Sets:  My Friend, Starburst Wheel; Ink:  Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit; Card Stock:  Summer Starfruit, Island Indigo; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, Fancy Flower Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Tempting Turquoise Brights Brad, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

To make the matching ribbon, I used my brayer and applied Summer Starfruit ink to the Whisper White Organza Ribbon.  I apply color to both sides to be sure to cover all the ribbon.  It is a quick way to color your ribbon and a whole lot less messy than dying it.

If you don't have your copy of the new Annual Catalog, let me know.  You can e-mail me and I'll be happy to send one out to you.

Going! Going! Soon To Be Gone!

Yes, it's that time of year again.  Time to say good-bye to those stamp sets that are retiring from the 2011-2012 catalogs.  The list is longer this year due to the transition to a new Annual Catalog and there are a higher number of stamps being replaced and refreshed but our stamp lines will still be plentiful.

Here is a link to the list so you can see what's retiring at the end of May...  Retired Stamps.

Click Image To Shop At My Online Store

Dates: April 15-May 31, 2012

Now is your chance to get those stamp sets you've had your eye on before they are gone.  Many products are only available while supplies last, so order early.

Elementary Elegance Happy Birthday

This card was made using My Digital Studio.  All I need to do now is make it out of stamps and card stock and it makes a perfect addition to the All Occasions Card Class this Saturday.

Stamp Set:  Elementary Elegance (SAB); Ink:  Rich Razzleberry; Card Stock:  Sweet Details Designer Series Paper, Wisteria Wonder, Almost Amethyst, Pale Plum; Accessories & Tools:  Everyday Enchantment Brads (SAB), Perfect Plum 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Daisy Punch

Several of the items I used are retired out of the Annual Catalog but the great thing is, you can still find them in My Digital Studio.  I like that.  It gives me a chance to use colors I like that weren't available after I became a Demonstrator.

For the class, I'm thinking I'll add some rhinestones to the butterfly to sparkle it up.  Since some of the colors I used are retired, I'll be picking different colors for most of the card.  Okay, I'm off to make this card.  I'll be sure to post it here when I'm done so you can see the difference.

Don't forget that Sale-A-Bration ends March 31st.  Some of the products I used are only available during Sale-A-Bration.  Oh, and you can get the One Big Sale-A-Bration CD in digital format free when you place a $50 order.  It includes all the new, exclusive Sale-A-Bration products!.  To order yours today, click on the coffee pot on the upper left.

And, as always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Until we meet again...

Just Believe

Today is the first day of Spring but there is no sunshine here.  It's cloudy and we are expecting it to start raining again.  With the less than normal amount of snow this winter, we really do need the moisture.  What I find hard to believe is that we have been in the 70s and 80s for the past couple of weeks.  Talk about unusual!  I do have to admit that I have not missed the cold and snow.

I haven't had a lot of time to create lately as I've been doing my annual spring cleaning early given our nice weather.  Today's card is one I cased from last years' Annual Catalog.

Stamp Set: Just Believe; Inks:  Cajun Craze, Night of Navy, Marina Mist; Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  5/8" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon

Just a reminder that Sale-A-Bration ends in eleven days.  You can place your order here or you can e-mail me with your order and payment.

Designer Series Paper Bliss

While looking through my demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success, I came across a card that I like but didn't have all the elements.  So, I changed it up a bit and really like how it turned out.  I love how the colors Soft Suede and Pool Party compliment each other.  I'm hoping that the Attic Boutique will be continued in the new Annual Catalog when it premieres in June.

Stamp Set:  Bliss (retired); Ink:  Soft Suede;  Card Stock:  Soft Suede, Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper, Very Vanilla; Accessories & Tools:  Curly Label Punch, Top Note Bigz Die, Jewels Basic Pearls, Pool Party Seam Binding, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Big Shot

Leave a comment and let me know what you think.  On Friday, I'll have a drawing and the winner will get the card.  I'll post the winner's name on Saturday morning.

Until we meet again...
