Wacky Watercooler February Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Oh, yes!  It's time for another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop.  Don't you just love 'em!  I do.  There are so many wonderfully creative projects and no two ever seem to be alike.

For my first card I managed to use a bit of product from all of the current catalogs.  At my last Stamp Club, the ink smeared on the original center layer so I didn't finish the project and just took the parts home with me.  When I committed to the hop, this immediately came to mind.  I changed it up a bit and this is the final product.  I love these colors look together.

Stamp Sets:  Petite Petals, Trust God; Inks:  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana and  Summer Starfruit, Tuxedo Black (Memento); Card Stock:  Sahara Sand, Basic black, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Scallop Edge Border Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals(Stampin' Up!)

The Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper is from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog and is one of the free choices you have when you place a $50 order with your Demonstrator.

For my second card, I went bright and cheerful.  I made this card on what would have been my mother's 88th birthday.  Instead of making it a birthday card, I went with a Mother's Day card because I love this sentiment from Delightful Dozen.  She was a wonderful mother and she loved butterflies and flowers.

Stamp Sets:  Petite Petals, Delightful Dozen; Inks:  Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral; Card Stock:  Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Labels Collection Framelits, Petite Petals Punch, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Well, what do you know!  Again, I used product from all of the current catalogs.  And, no, this was definitely not planned but I'm on a roll!  Will it carry through for my final project?

For my third and last project, I decided to do something a wee bit different, a mixed media canvas.  As you can see, I wasn't able to carry through with a product from each of the current catalogs.  I just couldn't figure out how to use the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and make it look good on the canvas.  At the moment, it's the only Sale-A-Bration product I have until my next order gets here.  So, here is the end result.  I love those blue flowers!

And here is a close up of the sentiment.  If you look closely at the Soft Sky flowers, you can see that I added just a bit of sparkle to the center of the flower.  Thank you to Jackie Topa for the great punch art tutorial for the cute flowers.  I will definitely be making them again!

Stamp Sets:  Everything Eleanor, Trust God, Petite Petals (used for the background); Inks:  Crushed Curry Ink Refill, Pear Pizzazz Ink Refill, Island Indigo Ink Refill, Soft Sky, Island Indigo; Card Stock:  Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Marker, Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Marker, Petite Petals Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack Flower, Bird builder Punch, 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Antique Brad, Pearl Modeling Cream, Wedding Cake Acrylic Paint

3x3 Thank You Note

Well, our less than half an inch of snow has turned into over four inches, that is once it quits falling.  I'm now counting down the days until Spring.  Maybe that's why I've been so focused on flowers lately.  That, and I love the Secret Garden stamp set in the Spring Catalog and the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  I finished up these little thank yous with the sentiment from Tiny Tags.  The 3x3 note cards make a perfect addition to a gift bag.  The outside of the card is on the left and the inside on the right.

Stamp Sets:  Secret Garden, Bloomin' Marvelous, Tiny Tags; Inks:  Always Artichoke, Night of Navy; Card Stock:  Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla

Time to go watch more snow fall.  The nice thing about that is my craft table faces the window.  Have a creative day!

Henry Says Congratulations!

This is my favorite Henry card of the two we made.  We stamped him on Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stacks and cut him out.  Clean, simple and cheerful.  The rhinestone eye was not part of the original, I added it once I got home just to give Henry a wee bit of sparkle!  I love how the black and Melon Mambo colors look together.

Stamp Set:  Henry Says; Inks:  Basic Black, Melon Mambo; Card Stock:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stacks; Accessories & Tools:  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder/Cloudy Day, Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack/Pool Party, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

There you have two ways you can use the Henry Says stamp set and a great combination of Sale-A-Bration ribbon and a Spring Catalog stamp set.

Thoughts of You

Again, I found a sketch challenge that I wanted to try.  I hadn't used any of the Core'dinations paper I ordered from the now retired Holiday Catalog.  Why, you ask?  Well, I kind of forgot I had it.  When I was looking through my card stock to use for this card, there it was.  I love it and now want to get it in the other colors offered in the Spring Catalog.

Stamp Set:  Loving Thoughts; Ink:  Early Espresso; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Core'dinations/Early Espresso; Accessories & Tools:  Top Note Bigz Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Little Labels Punch Pack, Pearl Basic Jewels, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

Once you lightly sand the top of the paper, the 'core' shows through and gives a whole new look to the design.  Isn't it great?

Thanks So Much

I've finally had a chance to play with some new product from the Spring Catalog.  Being sick and having new toys and not feeling like playing with them is the pits!  Now that I can breath again and not cough my head off, here is a card I made from a card sketch I found on my demonstrator only website.  I love the Secret Garden Stamp Set and Oh, Hello Stamp Set and the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  Well, actually, I love it all!

Stamp Sets:  Oh, Hello, Secret Garden; Ink:  Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Secret Garden Framelits Dies, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

I really do like the clean look of this card.  It's going to be perfect to send to my friend, Sandra, who brought me a care package while I was sick.

My Little Valentine

Okay, here is my last Valentine card for the time being.  I have three birthday cards to design for three of my grandsons.  They all have birthdays this month, one right after the other three days in a row.  I'll share those cards with you once I have them done.  Right now they are only images in my head just waiting to find their way to paper and ink.

For this card, I used some of the new Print Poetry Designer Series Paper from the Spring Catalog.  It has some beautiful colors in it that I'll be sharing in future projects.

Stamps:  You Are Loved, My Little Valentine; Ink:  Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Hearts Collection Framelits, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

The Grand Opening for the Gift Shop is set for January 25th.  But, be sure to check back this Friday for all the details on how you can register to win a one of a kind gift.

Spring has Sprung at Stampin' Up!

The new Spring Catalog is here and does it have some wonderful new products.  You'll find the link on the sidebar just below the Annual Catalog.  Today's card was made using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and the A Little Greeting Stamp Set.

Stamp Set:  A Little Greeting; Ink: Cajun Craze; Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder/Honeycomb, Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots, Small Octagons/Nestabilities

To add a bit of differences, I cut out some octagon shapes to add to the hexagon shapes of the honeycomb.  It's going to be fun trying to come up with new ways to use this embossing folder.

Mom's Ceramic Creation

Well, my laptop took a dive today.  When I pushed the power on button, nothing happened.  According to my son Matthew, it's either the hard drive or the display thingy but he won't know for sure until he can get here to take a look.  Yes, as you can tell, I'm not literate on all parts of a computer.  Anyway, I'm on my desktop, which I haven't used much since the laptop so everything is taking me longer.

As promised in an earlier post, here is a close up of the ceramic piece my mother gave me.  It was hidden in the photo with the plants and the white church.  I love this Santa and all the detail she put into the whole piece.

Today, my order came with some of the goodies from the new Spring Catalog and the new Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  I can't wait to show you what I've been working on since I started almost as soon as I got them out of their package.
