A Simple Hello

Good morning from the Sierra Nevada Mountains!  It's shaping up to be another fantastic day with lots of sunshine.  I love mornings like this when you know that Spring is on its way.

Can you believe there is no stamping done on this card?  When I started to make it, I never gave it a thought, it just happened.  I looked at it and said, "Wait a minute, there is no stamp or ink on this one."  I must say I do love the results.

The banner is cut from the, now retired, Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! and it is actually vellum.  I think the Petal Pink color made for a very pretty design.  From Soft Sea Foam cardstock, I used the Petal Pop-Up 2 Dies from Taylored Expressions for the dimensional flower and attached it using foam tape.  The Hello Die is one of the free little dies I received from Taylored Expressions as a thank you for an order.  I cut five out of Smoky Slate cardstock and glued them together to add dimension to the sentiment.  I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to add some shimmer to the flower.  For the finishing touch, I added a clear gem to the flower center.

As you can see in the flower close-up, the sparkle pen added just the right amount of shimmer and gave the flower a wee bit of personality.  It is really pretty in real time.

Hello

Today's card was made using just the card base.  First, I used my VersaMark Pen to make the wavy, crooked line then, heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I stamped the hello in Night of Navy ink to the right and added the die-cut flower to the left.  I die-cut two and popped them up with foam tape.  For the finishing touch, I added a few iridescent bubbles.  A clean and simple card that took no time at all to make.

Stamp(s):  Build-A-Flower:  Peruvian Lily (Altenew)
Ink(s):  Night of Navy (Stampin' Up!); VersaMark Pen
Cardstock:  Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)
Patterned Paper:  Everything is Rosy Designer Series Paper (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Flower Die (Taylored Expressions)

It's time for a new sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I widened the window so it covers the whole card front.  You can't see it but the die-cut words are covered with shimmer and in real time they have a nice sparkle going.  Hope you can join us this week for the challenge.

WWC194 - "Anything Goes" Challenge

Wednesday has rolled around again and it's time for a new Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week Heidi is hosting our "Anything Goes" as it is the fifth week of the month and makes for a nice change in the lineup of challenges.

The card I'm sharing with you today was one I made in a recent watercoloring class I took at the Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2018 Event.  It was taught by Taylor and I learned a couple of new tricks using her new Liquid Watercolors.  They are so much fun.

For this card we used one color.  It's Plum Punch and to get the ombre effect you simply add more water as you do each strip across the watercolor paper.  It's such a bright, cheerful card.

Liquid Watercolor:  Plum Punch (Taylored Expressions)
Cardstock:  Watercolor Paper, Lollipop, Peapod, Sugar Cube, Plum Punch, Strawberry Milkshake, Lavender Glaze (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Hello Script, Hello Script Backer, Leafy Branch, Scribble Flowers (Taylored Expressions)
Other:  Berry Patch Designer Felt

For all of our challenge details and to share your project, visit the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge by clicking the image below.  We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Monday,  November 5th at 6:00 p.m. Central Standard Time to link up your project.

Butterflies

Hello and a Happy Friday to everyone!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a new die from Cheapo Dies.  I'll be here every Friday to share a new die with you so I hope to see you again.  In the meantime, be sure to take time to check out all the different dies they have available.  You can see them HERE.

Today I'm featuring the new Butterflies Die.  They are just the right size for a card and I love the detail.  I created a background on watercolor paper using Brusho Crystals.  Then, I stamped flower silhouettes and the Hello and added the butterflies.  There are actually four butterflies in this set of dies but I decided to use just the three on this card.

Stamp Set:  Secret Garden Collage (TPC Studio)
Ink:  Earl Grey (Taylored Expressions)
Brusho Crystals:  Moss Green, Brilliant Blue, Yellow, Emerald Green, Gamboge
Cardstock:  Basic Gray, Pineapple Punch, Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie (Stampin' Up!); Watercolor Paper (Strathmore)
Other:  Rhinestone Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

If you are not familiar with Cheapo Dies and would like to know more, here's where you can go to check them out.

WWC181 - Kath's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge

This week Kath is hosting our Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  It was a perfect opportunity to add another note card to my stash.  I love this Build-A-Flower:  Peruvian Lily stamp set by Altenew.  It's so realistic when seen in real life.  It's also the first time I've tried their inks and I really do like them.

Inks:  Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades (Altenew Crisp Dye Inks)

Watercolor Roses

What?  No dies!?  That's the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.  What do you do when you can't use die cuts?  Well, I watercolor.

First, I stamped the image from the Wild Roses stamp set onto Watercolor Paper using VersaMark, then heat embossed using White Embossing Powder.  I colored the roses and the leaves using the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Watercolor Pencils.  The background is a wash of Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment is from the Jar of Love stamp set and stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Then, I added it to a layer of Elegant Eggplant and added a bow made of Linen Thread.

It's no dies were allowed at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Hello

While my pizza is baking, I have time for a short post to share the card I made for the current CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  I found I had all the colors, in one form or another, that I needed for the challenge without having to find a close match.  Yes, I was surprised.

The card base is Shimmery White.  I found a piece of Peach Parfait cardstock and embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  The ribbon I added is actually the 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon that I used my Dusty Durango Stampin' Write Marker to add color.  I think it looks really well with that Peach Parfait.  Don't you?

I stamped an image from the Fabulous Flora stamp set in Basic Black Archival ink onto a piece of Shimmery White and watercolored it using a Sage Shadow Watercolor Wonder Crayon.  Then, I cut it out using one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival and is also from the Fabulous Flora stamp set.

When I stamped the sentiment, it left a bit of a mark where you see the line of Pearl Basic Jewels.  It was one way to cover up the mistake and not have to start the card over.  I think it worked rather well.  I also added a pearl to the leaves in the image to finish out the design.

The colors and sketch I used are from the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Pretty Shaker Butterflies

It's Saturday night and I'm in the middle of a Downton Abbey marathon but I wanted to take time to share this fun shaker card with you.  This is one that I made at the shaker card class I took last fall at the 2016 Stamp Joy Event.  I fell in love with shaker cards and have made several since.  I don't know the names of the product used but I love the colors but I wanted to share it with you as I think it's a very pretty shaker card.

I'm play along with the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Hello

Wow!  Can you believe it?  I made a card that doesn't belong to any challenge.  Will wonders never cease.  :-)  Lately, of an evening, I've been pulling out my Copic Markers and my Stampin' Write Markers and the three sets of watercolor panels from Taylored Expressions and doing some coloring while watching TV.  I think tonight I'll work on some more but actually do some water coloring just to see if I can really do watercolor.

My card base is Elegant Eggplant, one of my favorite Stampin' Up!® colors.  I took VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad and stamped some flower images using one of the stamps from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar.  After coloring one of the Keep In Touch Watercolor Panels with Copic Markers, I added it to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.  For the final touch, I added three Santa's List White Enamel Dots from Teresa Collins.  I think Spring is in the air!

Stampin' Up!® product unless otherwise noted.

There is only one way to beat the winter blues and that's to make a flower filled card!  I loved the sketch over at Retro Sketches.  It was prefect for some cheerful flowers.  I'm loving that new Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper from the new Occasions Catalog.  It's all hand painted designs and that's just the kind of thing I like.  Here is the card that was inspired by the sketch.

Here is that great sketch from Retro Sketches.

Thanks So Much

I've finally had a chance to play with some new product from the Spring Catalog.  Being sick and having new toys and not feeling like playing with them is the pits!  Now that I can breath again and not cough my head off, here is a card I made from a card sketch I found on my demonstrator only website.  I love the Secret Garden Stamp Set and Oh, Hello Stamp Set and the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  Well, actually, I love it all!

Stamp Sets:  Oh, Hello, Secret Garden; Ink:  Midnight Muse; Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Gumball Green, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack; Accessories & Tools:  Secret Garden Framelits Dies, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

I really do like the clean look of this card.  It's going to be perfect to send to my friend, Sandra, who brought me a care package while I was sick.
