A Simple Hello

Good morning from the Sierra Nevada Mountains!  It's shaping up to be another fantastic day with lots of sunshine.  I love mornings like this when you know that Spring is on its way.

Can you believe there is no stamping done on this card?  When I started to make it, I never gave it a thought, it just happened.  I looked at it and said, "Wait a minute, there is no stamp or ink on this one."  I must say I do love the results.

The banner is cut from the, now retired, Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! and it is actually vellum.  I think the Petal Pink color made for a very pretty design.  From Soft Sea Foam cardstock, I used the Petal Pop-Up 2 Dies from Taylored Expressions for the dimensional flower and attached it using foam tape.  The Hello Die is one of the free little dies I received from Taylored Expressions as a thank you for an order.  I cut five out of Smoky Slate cardstock and glued them together to add dimension to the sentiment.  I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to add some shimmer to the flower.  For the finishing touch, I added a clear gem to the flower center.

As you can see in the flower close-up, the sparkle pen added just the right amount of shimmer and gave the flower a wee bit of personality.  It is really pretty in real time.

The sketch I used is from the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

Vase of Blue Flowers

The sun may be shining at the moment but apparently we are supposed to have another round of thunderstorms this afternoon.  I just hope it holds off until I get home from the Taylored Expressions Studio Anniversary Party.  It's been two years now that she opened the studio and I take a class whenever I get the chance to do so.  Tonight's treasure is the cupcake stamp and die combo that I'll come home with for attending the event.  It should be a lot of fun!

The inspiration for my design came from the Just Add Ink Challenge.  The inspiration photo was so pretty and I loved the copper vase.  To give my vase (Pitcher Vase Dies by Taylored Expressions) a coppery look, I covered the die-cut with VersaMark then used Copper Embossing Powder.  The center of the vase was done using Faded Jeans Oxide Ink on the cut out center of the vase to give it the look of water.  I layered the vase, flowers (Bloomers 4 Dies by Taylored Expressions) and greenery (Leafy Branches by Taylored Expressions) on a die cut made using the Sunburst Thinlits Die from Stampin' Up!  The sentiment is from the retired Botanical Bookplates stamp set by Flourishes and stamped using Dapper Denim ink by Stampin' Up!  For the finishing touch, I added the little die cut center and put a drop of White Blizzard Glitter Drops by Nuvo in the center of each flower.

Christmas Gift Card Holder Tag

It isn't often that two challenges have the same theme at the same time.  I was thrilled to see that the Stampin' Royalty Challenge and the Just Add Ink Challenge both asked us to create holiday gift tags.  It gives me the opportunity to share a gift card holder that was one of the Make & Takes at the October 2016 Stamp Joy Event put on by Taylored Expressions.  There were tables set up for us to make ten different projects.  I loved this gift card holder that looks like an elf''s vest.  As you can see it holds a gift card beautifully.  I don't have a list of the supplies, as everything was prepped and ready to go for us.  I added the sentiment and the sequins after I was home.  The sentiment is from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set by Stampin' Up!

My tag is entered in the Stampin' Royalty Challenge.   For all the challenge details, click the image below.
