Melon Mambo Matchbook Post It Note Holder

This time last Saturday I was having all the fun at a local craft show.  One of the items I had for sale was post it note holders.  They are fun, easy to make and a useful small gift item.  They are always a hit at craft shows.

Stamp Set:  Just Believe; Ink:  Soft Suede; Card Stock:  12x12 Textured Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper (retired); Accessories & Tools:  Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Butterfly Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Blossom Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Antique Brads, Jewels Basic Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals

These are quick to make up and everyone seems to love them.  I usually have two to three different styles on hand.  I often give them out as gifts myself.

Blushing Bride Bookmark

Ahh... alliteration!  I love words.  I love to write and try to do so each day whether it's journaling or adding to my novel.  Today's short story is all about my youngest grandson, Aiden.  I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I watch him during the week while Mom and Dad work and big brother and big sister are in school.  He is quite the little man and overflowing with personality!  He is two and has turned into a little jabber jaw.  Most of the time he and I communicate well but there are those times when he is trying very hard to make himself heard and Grandma just doesn't get it.

His favorite TV show is Thomas and His Friends.  It's a really cute program and even I enjoy watching it with him.  Here is a link, http://www.thomasandfriends.com/usa/Thomas.mvc/Home, for those who might like to know more about the program.

Today he was talking away, trying to tell me something about his new train engine, Diesel 10, but I just wasn't getting it.  Smiling at him I said, "You are a little Dutchman."  To which he answered with a frown, "No I not!"  So, I asked him if he was a little German.  He got the biggest smile on his face and said, "Yes, derman."  Needless to said I just couldn't hold back the laughter.  He is such a sweet little guy and can definitely melt my butter!

So, now it's on to this neat little bookmark I saw and knew I had to try one of my own.  It's very easy and mostly done by folding.  I'll be making more of these.  Thank you, Jessica!

Stamp Set:  Mixed Bunch; Ink:  Perfect Plum; Card Stock:  2011-2013 In Color Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack - Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum, Whisper White; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, 1" Circle Punch, VersaMark, Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss® Powder, Jewels Basic Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals, Heat Tool

The bookmark doesn't show up well but it at least gives you the idea of how it is to be used.  Now I'm off to work on more of the cards I need for Saturday's Class.  I'll be sharing those with you soon.

Until we meet again...

Send A Friend A Card Day

Although it's not an official holiday, it is on the calendar.  What better way to remember a friend than by sending them a handmade card full of love.

Last week my llama group finished up another swap and all of the cards I've received so far have been great!  I'm sharing my card here today since it fits right in with the theme of today's post.  It's a clean and simple design but I really like the colors in this one.  The Twitterpated Designer Series Paper is fast becoming some of my favorite paper to use.

Stamp Set:  My Friend; Ink:  Night of Navy; Card Stock:  Calypso Coral, Twitterpated Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, Mini Brads, Adorning Accents Edgelits Die

I'm thinking I'm also going to use this one for my Make and Take for my Customer Appreciation Tea that's in the works.

Candy Conversations

Our Valentine Card Class was so much fun!  Laughter and beautiful cards; what a great combination!

Since our time was limited to two hours, I kept the designs more towards the clean and simple kind.  There were five designs and they made two of each design for a total of ten cards.

As we progressed through the cards, I added a few more steps and some embellishments.  Here is the second card we made.  For this one I had them stamp and punch their own blossom.  They thought that was great!

Stamp Sets:  Candy Conversations, Mixed Bunch; Ink:  Riding Hood Red; Card Stock:  Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper; Accessories & Tools:  Blossom Punch, Jewels Basic Rhinestone

A simple and clean sweet valentine.

Until we meet again...

So Saffron Flower

Today's card was inspired by one I saw while browsing cards online.  I was looking for ways to use the new Blossom Punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog and this flower is similar to the one I saw.  I punched out three blossoms then, cut them apart to make petals.  I used my So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker to add the lines on the center of each petal.  For the center of the flower, I used the 1/2" Circle Punch and covered it with Crystal Effects and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it while still wet.

Stamp Set:  Word Play; Inks:  Soft Suede, Stampin' Write Marker So Saffron; Card Stock:  So Saffron, Whisper White, Attic Boutique; Accessories:  Modern Label Punch, Large Oval Punch, Blossom Punch, Jewels Basic Pearls, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin' Dimensionals

I''m loving the new product in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Tomorrow I'll show you another card made with the new Hearts Collection Framelits. You're going to love them!

Mixed Bunch Butterfly

After making a card using the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and having punched an extra flower, I just had to try my hand at making a butterfly from the Mixed Bunch flower.  I got the idea after seeing the one shown on page 16 of the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  The whole card was made using up leftover card stock and ribbon.  The solid flowers were made using the punched out card stock as a stencil.

Stamp Sets:  Mixed Bunch, Four Frames, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Inks:  Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party; Card Stock:  Rich Razzleberry,  Very Vanilla, Pool Party; Accessories:  1/2" Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Blossom Punch, Crystal Effects, Stamping Sponge, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Now it's time to concentrate on finishing up my Christmas gifts for my family.  I always seem to leave them until the last minute.

Mixed Bunch Thank You

Yesterday I had the privilege of dining with some wonderful friends.  Kay called earlier in the day and invited me over for supper.  It was just what I needed.  Good food and good conversation.  Her husband, Jerry, is the one I always turn to any time I have a computer issue.  He has gotten me out of more than one technical jam, usually of my own making.  I am somewhat technically challenged even though I love all the gadgets available to us today.  Kay shared with me albums she has been putting together for several years.  They were wonderful!  She uses magazine pages, written pages, old cards, etc. and puts them altogether into three ring binders in page protectors.  I enjoyed going through them last night.

My order arrived yesterday, but the only thing I had time for was to inventory the contents of the box.  I wanted to play with them but just did not have the time.  Chasing a two year old is an ongoing marathon!  Once Mom picked up the little man, it was time to get ready to head over to Jerry and Kay's.

When I returned home, I got busy and designed a thank you card for them.  With the hour getting late, I decided to do a very clean and simple card.  The inside of the card has another Mixed Bunch Blossom that I stamped a sentiment on before punching with the new Blossom Punch.  The Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Blossom Punch are new products from our new Occasions Mini Catalog.

Stamp Sets: Mixed Bunch, Because I Care (Retired); Ink:  Island Indigo; Card Stock: Island Indigo, Whisper White; Accessories: Antique Brads, Blossom Punch, Jewels Basic Rhinestones, Modern Label Punch, Stampin' Sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

The card stock looks more green than indigo.  I'm thinking I need a new camera.  Lately, this one has not been giving me good quality photos.  Sigh... wonder if Santa can find one for me?  :-)

Now I'm off to finish up that Raining Flowers design I mentioned the other day.
