Thinking of You

Today the sun is finally shining again and it does look a bit like spring here in the high desert of Nevada.  Flowers aren't quite blooming, yet, but I thought a bright, cheerful card was a good substitute.  Flowers that never fade.

This card does have a few layers to it.  I started by embossing the orange layerwith the Leaf Frame Cover Die.  On a piece of Whisper White, I stenciled the dots using Silver Lake ink.  Then, I glued them together and attached that double layer to a white card base.  The flowers are from the Wonderful Romance stamp set.  I stamped the outline in black and used colored pencils and gamsol to color them.  It's my favorite way to color these days.  For the finishing touch I added some iridescent bubbles that nicely reflect the color of the flowers.

Stamp Set:  Wonderful Romance (Stampin' Up!)
Ink:  Jet Black, Silver Lake (Altenew)
Pencils:  Prismacolor Colored Pencils
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Wonderful Floral Framelets Dies (Stampin' Up!)
Other:  Leaf Frame Cover Die, Feeling Dotty Stencil (Altenew), Iridescent Bubbles (Studio Katia), Gamsol

The inspiration for my card came from the Festive Friday Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Thanks for visiting today.  I look forward to seeing you again at the Coffee Pot Stamping Cafe.

  1. Marsha - This is just a beautiful work of art! I love your pencil & gamsol coloring, and the way the embossed leaves in the background pull the whole design together. Thank you for joining us at Festive Friday! We hope to see you play again with us for the next challenge!

  2. Gorgeous soft colouring on this lovely bouquet, Marsha ... the layering and texture is fabulous ... and the bold orange really makes those blooms pop! Thanks so much for coming by and for your kind words! Anita :)
