Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #147 - Charlotte's "Anything Goes" Challenge

This week Charlotte is hosting our "Anything Goes" Challenge over at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Normally, our anything goes challenge is not a hosted challenge but due to our taking a wee bit of time off during Christmas, it worked out that way.

This is another card I made in the Fall Shine class taught by Lori Craig of Imagination International.  And, I fell in love with the Sand Paste and the Copper Metallic Paint.  You will be seeing both in upcoming projects.  I love the grittiness of the Sand Paste and the added texture it gives your project.

Stamp Set:  Fall Florals; Inks:  Chocolate Truffle, Cookie Monster, Plum Punch, Pumpkin; Dies:  Fall Florals Dies, Frame in Frame 2 Dies, Various Vases Dies; Cardstock:  Cookie Monster, Sugar Cube, Toffee; Other:  Woodgrain Embossing Folder; Tommy Art:  Copper Metallic Paint, Sand Paste

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #146 - Kath's "All About Christmas" Challenge

This week Kath is hosting our "All About Christmas" Challenge over at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  One of the cards I made at the Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2017 event is this fun slider card.  I think one of my younger grandchildren is going to love getting this card at Christmas.

You know, I've made only one other slider card and have steered away from then since.  I used pennies for the weight and they are just to heavy to mail.  But, one of the things I learned when making this one is that there are plastic discs that are light weight and so much nicer than the pennies.  Looks like slider cards are back on the list of cards I want to do.

Stamp Sets:  Quick Critters - Winter Stamp & Die Combo, Snow Day Background; Inks:  Oreo, Sprinkles; Dies:  Build a Scene - Mountain Tops, Make A Snowflake, On the Right Track - Build a Scene, Stitched Banner Stacklets Dies; Cardstock:  Cherry Pop, Salt Water Taffy, Sugar Cube, Toffee; Other:  On the Right Track Discs, Pop Dot Adhesives, Salt Water Taffy Enamel Shapes

The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Give Thanks

Hi everyone!  It's time for another challenge from The Sisterhood of Crafters.  Vickie is our host this week and she has challenged us to "Give Thanks".  It can be anything showing thanks like a thank you card or something for which you are thankful.

One of the things that rarely happens when I make a card is not using any stamp sets or inks.  That is what happened with this card.  The Golden Grove Paper Pad has turned out to be a nice set of papers to have for creating.  I mixed several pieces together and came up with this Autumn card.  No stamping and no stamping.  It doesn't get any easier than this.

Silver Thanks

There's nothing like waiting until the last minute to get a card made and challenges entered.  I'm not usually a procrastinator and I really can't say that's what happened here.  I've just got a lot going on and haven't had a lot of time to spend in my craft room.

When looking for my silver paper, it suddenly occurred to me that I didn't have any.  I'd used up the last of it on another project quite some time ago and it never made it to my shopping list.  So, I had to improvise.  I stamped the background image from the You've Got This stamp set using VersaMark and heat embossed it using Silver Embossing Powder then, cut it out.  It's not completely filled in as that background is not a solid one.  I rather like the way it looks with just a wee bit of white peeking through.

Stamp Set:  You've Got This (Stampin' Up!); Ink:  VersaMark; Cardstock:  Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Sugar Cube; Dies:  Hills Die Set (Your Next Stamp), Thanks Die (Taylored Expressions); Other:  Silver Embossing Powder

Peace

It seems like it's been ages since I last sat at the craft desk and made a new card.  Life has been moving fast for me this past month.  It's been a whirlwind of doctor's appointments and various tests.  Only one more hurdle to jump and life can go back to normal.  But, that is a discussion for another day.

For now, it's time to share this pretty white on white card I made for The Paper Players.  The card base and the snowflakes were done using Sugar Cube.  For the wreath I used Shimmer White to offset it from the white of the card base.  It let's you see more detail of the Wreath Cutting Plate.  It's one of my favorite dies from Taylored Expressions.  The snowflakes are cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies from Stampin' Up!  The word peace is a die from Taylored Expressions.

Stamp Set:  None; Ink:  None; Cardstock:  Shimmer White, Sugar Cube; Dies:  Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies (Stampin' Up!), Wreath Cutting Plate (Taylored Expressions)

The color I used is from The Paper Players Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.
