WWC206 - "Anything Goes" Challenge

It's Wednesday and time for the next challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week, being the fifth week in January, means that it's and "Anything Goes" challenge.  So, whatever you are working on at this moment will fit the challenge so I do hope you will join us and share your projects..

For my first play with the Build-A-Flower: Hyacinth stamp set from Altenew, I don't think I did to bad of a job.  Lining up these layered stamps can be tricky but each time I use it, it will get easier.  I think it is a beautiful stamp set.  And, of course, it has matching dies.

 Stamp Set:  Build-A-Flower:  Hyacinth (Altenew)
Inks:  Wisteria, Hydrangea, Ultraviolet, Green Field, Shadow Creek, Maple Yellow, Jet Black (Altenew)
Cardstock:  Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Build-A-Flower:  Hyacinth Die (Altenew)
Other:  Feeling Dotty Stencil (Altenew); Pearl Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

For all of our challenge details and to share your project, visit the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge by clicking the image below.  We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Monday, February 4th at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time to link up your project.

Altenew Layering 3 Class - Lesson 2

Well, in order to share this card with you I had to make a separate post as it wouldn't let me link up different cards from the same post.  Lesson learned.  So, I'm giving you a double dose today.

This is the design I made for Lesson 2 of the Layering 3 Class.  Again, I didn't have the same stamp set the instructor used so I substituted  the Build-A-Flower:  Poppy stamp set.  This is a three layer flower.  I love these Build-A-Flower sets as they come with matching dies.

Stamp Sets:  Build-A-Flower:  Poppy, Rustic Linen, Birds of a Feather - sentiment (Altenew)
Inks:  Jet Black, Buttercream, Citrus Burst, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle, Caramel Truffle, Gray Denim (Altenew)
Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Build-A-Flower:  Poppy Die

Altenew's Layering 3 Class - Lesson 1

Today I'm sharing a card with you that I made after taking the free Layering 3 Class at Altenew.  I love the layered stamps but sometimes they can be a bit intimidating.  With all three of the Layering classes, I really see an improvement in my understanding of the layering and how to get the best effect.

This is the design I made for Lesson 1.  I rarely have the same stamps and dies that the instructor uses but I use what I have.  This is the Bold Blossom stamp set and it is one of my favorites.  There are four layers to this stamp and I love how pretty the flower looks once you've completed all of the layers.

Stamp Sets:  Bold Blossom, Build-A-Flower: Hyacinth - sentiment (Altenew)
Inks:  Jet Black, Wisteria, Hydrangea, Ultraviolet, Firefly, Grass, Filed, Shadow Creek, Silver Lake, Charcoal Suit (Altenew)
Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Bold Blossom Die (Altenew)
Other:  Wavy Grid Stencil (Altenew); Pearl Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

Typrewriter Font Alphabet Dies

Hello and another Happy Friday to all of you!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a new die from Cheapo Dies.  I'll be here every Friday to share a new die with you, so I hope to see you again soon.  In the meantime, be sure to take time to check out all the different dies that are available.  They are good quality and you just can't beat the price.  I know you'll love them as much as I.  You can find them HERE.

Today's card features the Typewriter Font Alphabet Dies.  With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I thought this would be a good time to use these dies.  I cut the letters out of the Bold Glam Glitter Solids paper pack.  It's glitter paper but without the mess.  I love it!  I placed them on a layer of red foil using Scotch Foam Tape.  This layer was glued to a white card base.  A simple card but pretty and shimmery.

Cardstock:  Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions); Bold Glam Glitter Solids (The Paper Studio)
Dies:  Typewriter Font Alphabet Dies (Cheapo Dies)

AECP Celebrations: Stencil Techniques

Today finds me sharing a card I made for one of my classes in the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP).  With all that has happened in the past six months, I had to take a short break from classes.  Now that I'm mostly settled into my new home, it's time to get back to it.  This card was for the Celebrations:  Stencil Techniques class.

I started with a piece of black cardstock and used modeling paste and the Wavy Grid Stencil from Altenew to make the background.  Once the paste had dried, I added all the pretty flowers.  They were stamped and die-cut using the Delicate Primrose stamp set and dies.  All the product I used is listed below the photo.

Stamp Sets:  Delicate Primrose, Build-A-Flower:  Poppy - sentiment (Altenew)
Inks:  Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Buttercream, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue, Sapphire, Soft Lilac, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet, Firefly, Grass Field, Shadow Creek, Jet Black (Altenew); VersaMark
Cardstock:  Sugar Cube, Oreo (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Delicate Primrose Die (Altenew)
Other:  Wavy Grid Stencil (Altenew); Light Modeling Paste (Liquitex); White Embossing Powder (Ranger)

Thanks for visiting today and I look forward to seeing you again soon at the Coffee Pot Stamping Cafe.

Thinking of You

Today's card features the new Build-A-Flower: Hyacinth stamp set from Altenew.  It is a beautiful layering stamp.  I wish you could see this in person as the phot does not do it justice.

I'm entering my card in The Flower Challenge.  It is a color challenge where we have to use pink and gray.  I don't use a lot of pink so this was a bit of a challenge for me.  I think it turned out rather well.

Stamp Sets:  Build-A-Flower:  Hycinth (Altenew);  Wonderful Romance (Stampin' Up!)
Inks:  Frosty Pink, Silver Lake, Gray Denim, Cloudy Night, Charcoal Suit (Altenew); Strawberry Milkshake (Taylored Expressions); Melon Mambo (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Basic Gray (Stampin' Up!); Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Build-A-Flower: Hyacinth Die (Altenew)
Other:  Wavy Grid Stencil (Altenew); Pearl Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

Yes, It's a Birthday Card!

It feels so good go be able to, once again, play along with some of my favorite challenges.  Today's challenge is from the Retro Rubber Challenge.  We could only use black and white, so it was fun trying to figure out a design and make it look good.  I kept it clean and simple and made a birthday card.  I know just who is going to get this and I'm sure she will find the humor of it.

It is all stamped on one layer of white cardstock.  I stamped the flowers from the Billowing Blossoms stamp set from Altenew and the sentiment from the Another Year Older (2015) stamp set from Taylored Expressions in Jet Black.  I colored the three pearls with a black Sharpie and the card was all done.  The speckles on the white layer were left after I splattered another project and this was in the way.  It works here so never throw those accidents away.  You never know when they will come in handy.

Stamp Sets:  Another Year Older (Taylored Expressions); Billowing Blossoms (Altenew)
Ink:  Jet Black (Altenew)
Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Other:  Pearl Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

Today's card features the Believe Die.  It's a simple design with a layer of glimmer paper attached to a white card base.  The die-cut is cut from Night of Navy cardstock.  For the finishing touch, I added a gemstone to each of the dots about the "i's."

Pretty Primroses

Would you believe that for the first time in a long time I'm actually able to play along with some of my favorite challenges again.  This past year has been full of recovery from cancer surgery and a major move that took me from Iowa to Nevada.  And, that's not counting all the little things in between.  It feels good to be back to doing what I love best making cards and playing along with the challenges.

For this card, I combined a couple of challenges.  The sketch is from Sunday Stamps and the colors are from CAS Colours & Sketches.  And, I got to play with my new Delicate Primrose stamp set from Altenew.

Stamp Set:  Delicate Primrose (Altenew)
Ink:  Real Red, Crumb Cake (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Real Red (Stampin' Up!)
Dies:  Delicate Primrose Die (Altenew)
Other:  Pearl Basic Rhinestones

The colors I've used are from the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

Hello and welcome to Wednesday and the next challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week, Gail, is hosting our Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge.  Be sure to check out what the team has for you.  You're going to love them all.

I finally had a chance to play with the new Wild Ferns stamp set from Altenew.  The moose is a die-cut from the Woodland Silhouettes 2 Die from Taylored Expressions.  This is the other masculine birthday card I told you I needed just lasrt week.  They have all been received and they really liked them.  I'm always happy to hear that.  Oh, and yes, I took some artistic license when I combined the ferns with the moose.  I just love the way it looks.

Stamp Sets:  Wild Ferns (Altenew); Stitched Stems - sentiment (Taylored Expressions)
Inks:  Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Jet Black (Altenew); Mossy Meadow (Stampin' Up!)

Daisy Butterfly

Hello and a Happy Friday to all of you!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a new die from Cheapo Dies.  I'll be here every Friday to share a new die with you so I hope to see you again.  In the meantime, be sure to take time to check out all the different dies they have available.  I'm having so much fun with all of the dies I've been sharing over the last several weeks.  They are good quality and you can't beat the price.  I know you'll love them as much as I do.  You can see them HERE.
Today's card features the Daisy Butterfly Die.  When I was unpacking from my move, I came across a tote full of bits and pieces and backgrounds that I had done but never used.  The background for this card is one of those.  It's a watercolor background but I can't remember the colors I used other than they were a yellow, blue and green.

The die-cut was cut from watercolor paper and I colored it using some of my Taylored Expressions Liquid Watercolors.  Since I just did this one, I can give you the colors.  I used Blue Corn, Peapod, Lemon Meringue and Cherry Pop.  To all of the colors I added some Shimmer so the whole die-cut has a sparkle to it.  What I didn't realize, until I took the photo of the card, is that the background also has a shimmer.  It's subtle but very pretty.

The sentiment is from the Stitched Stems Stamp & Die Combo and stamped using Jet Black by Altenew.

The dies featured today are the Snowflakes Die and the Typewriter Font Die.  The card base is Sugar Cube to which I added a layer of patterned paper.  I cut the snowflakes out of Sugar Cube cardstock and the letters are the reverse side of the patterned paper.  Using a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, I covered the snowflakes and, while it doesn't show in the photo, they have a pretty shimmer to them.  The finishing touch was adding a few rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes.

Angel

Hello and a Happy Friday to all of you!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a new die from Cheapo Dies.  I'll be here every Friday to share a new die with you so I hope to see you again.  In the meantime, be sure to take time to check out all the different dies they have available.  I'm having so much fun with all of the dies I've been sharing over the last several weeks.  They are good quality and you can't beat the price.  I know you'll love them as much as I do.  You can see them HERE.

The die featured today is the Angel Die.  I used up some things I aready had made.  The cardbase is Sugar Cube cardstock to which I added a layer of Lovely Lipstick I had embossed with the Regency Swirls 3-D embossing folder.  The sentiment is from the Holiday Florals stamp set and was stamped using Oreo ink.  The angel is cut from Powder Pink cardstock and glued over the embossed layer.  For the finishing touch I added a few rhinestones for a bit of bling.  Another simple but pretty Christmas card.

Again, you'll have to forgive the photograph.  I'm still getting sorted after my move and I'm just not there, yet.  It's been an interesting time trying to find what box my boys packed things in.  There was absolutely no labeling done, so I'm being surprised with every box I open.  It's an adventure!

Stamp Set:  Holiday Florals - sentiment (Taylored Expressions)

WWC200 - Helen's "All About Occasions" Challenge

Wednesday here we go again!  And, it's time for a new Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  This week Helen is hosting our "All About Occasions" challenge.  It's also our 200th challenge.  We've been around since 2014 and have made many transitions through those years.  It has been so much fun and I'm so thankful for all of you who have shared your wonderful projects with us.

Today, I'm sharing one of the cards I made in the watercolor class I took when I attended Stamp Joy 2018.  It's a watercolor panel we colored using the Liquid Watercolor from Taylored Expressions.  Because the inks from TE are archival, and don't play well with water, you can' color with them.  These watercolors are fantastic.

Stamp Set:  Striped Background
Liquid Watercolor:  Lemon Meringue, Plum Punch, Lollipop, Peapod, Shimmer
Cardstock:  Lollipop, Lemon Meringue
Dies:  Stitched Frame Stacklets 1
Other:  3x4 Watercolor Panels - Inspire

Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Hello everyone!  It's time for another challenge at the Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Challenge.  The challenge is always about Christmas, so every month you can make a Christmas card and have plenty in your stash come time to send them all out to your family and friends.  I love making my Christmas cards throughout the year.  It sure does eliminate the stress of making last minute cards.

Today is my last post for the Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Challenge as a member of the Design Team.  I'm sad to go but I have so much coming up that I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up.  I will miss you all on the team and you, the participants and your wonderful creations.

Love Collage

Hello and a Happy Friday to all of you!  Today I'm sharing a card I made using a new die from Cheapo Dies.  I'll be here every Friday to share a new die with you so I hope to see you again.  In the meantime, be sure to take time to check out all the different dies they have available.  I'm having so much fun with all of the dies I've been sharing over the last several weeks.  They are good quality and you can't beat the price.  I know you'll love them as much as I do.  You can see them HERE.

The die featured today is the Love Collage.  First I stamped the Buffalo Plaid Background onto Cherry Pop cardstock using Earl Grey ink.  I stamped off to give a softer look to the plaid.  The heart is cut from Sugar Cube cardstock and I glued it directly to the card front.  I stamped the sentiment from the Cutting Edge - Flowers stamp set and attached it using foam tape to give it some dimension.  Then I added Sugar Cube Enamel Shapes for the finishing touch. I love how that heart looks against the red.

You'll have to forgive the photograph.  I recently moved and don't have my craft room completely unpacked and organized.  And, it didn't help that the sun did not shine today.  Hopefully, by next week, I'll have everything in order and the sun will cooperate.

Stamp Sets:  Buffalo Plaid Background, Cutting Edge - Flowers (Taylored Expressions)
Ink:  Earl Grey (Taylored Expressions)
Cardstock:  Cherry Pop, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Love Collage (Cheapo Dies)
Other:  Sugar Cube Enamel Shapes (Taylored Exporessions)

Addicted to Stamps and More #321 - Anything Goes

Hello everyone!  Today the Addicted to Stamps & More Challenge is an Anything Goes challenge. I really like these because it gives me a chance to show off some of the cards I make at some of the events I attend.  Today's card is one I made at a recent Stamp Joy Event that is Taylored Expressions holds each year.  Isn't this lady bug just the cutest!

Today is my last post as a Design Team member of the Addicted to Stamps & More Challenge.  I will miss all of the team and you, the participants, and you wonderful creations.
