Addicted to Stamps and More #303 - Holiday

Hello everyone!  Today I'm pleased to announce that I have joined the Design Team at the Addicted to Stamps & More Challenge.  The challenge this week is "Holiday" and, of course, I had to make it a Christmas card.  As you may know, I make my cards throughout the year to have them all done when the time comes to need them.  It sure does eliminate the stress of making last minute cards.

Ink:  VersaMark
Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce (Stampin' Up!); Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Double-edged Flag Stacklets Dies (Taylored Expressions)
Other:  White Embossing Powder (Ranger); Green Rhinestones

Altenew Educator Certification Program - All About Layering 1

Exciting news to share!  Recently I applied for and was accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP).  I'm looking forward to learning more about my craft from all the great instructors teaching these classes.

The first class I took is the All About Layering 1 Class.  It gave many good points on how to layer with the Altenew stamps.  For my card, I used the Build-A-Flower:  Morning Glory Stamp and Die set.  These sets are wonderful as they come with the stamp and the die.  It was the first time I've used the Altenew Crisp Dye Inks and I love them!  As you can see, the colors are vivid and cover well.

The card is a very simple one as it is all about stamping the various layers of the morning glory images.  To the card base I added a layer of black cardstock and placed my stamped layer on top of that.

Stamp Sets:  Build-A-Flower:  Morning Glory, Painted Encouragement (Altenew)
Inks:  Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue, Sapphire, Sweet Leaf, Just Green, Jet Black (Altenew)
Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Other:  Clear Wink of Stella Brush

In future, I'll be sharing more of the cards I make for the various classes I'm taking for certification.  I can't wait to share them all with you.

This week Charlotte is hosting our Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  It was a perfect opportunity to add another note card to may stash.

I love this beautiful flower from the Bold Blossom stamp set from Altenew.  And, I love that it has matching dies.  It's one of their layering stamps and that makes it so easy to get the depth in the blossom.  All you have to do is follow the guide and when done, you have such lovely flowers.

Stamp Sets:  Bold Blossom, Floral Elements, Rustic Linen (Altenew); Cutting Edge: Flowers - sentiment (Taylored Expressions)

WWC176 - Kath's "All About Christmas" Challenge

This week Kath is hosting our "All About Christmas" challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  My card today is a very simple snowflake card with a big sentiment.  The snowflakes actually sparkle but it just never shows up in a photograph.  The tiny circles were left the die-cut snowflakes and I wanted to add a spot more of the dark blue.  They were perfect for the snowflake centers and around the card front.  I daubed them using the Blue Corn ink from Taylored Expressions.

Stamp Set:  Merry Christmas (Co-Motion Stamps)
Ink:  Blue Corn (Taylored Expressions)
Cardstock:  Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions), Glitter Paper - snowflakes (Stampin' Up!)
Patterned Paper:  Playful Patterns - Holiday (Taylored Expressions)

This week Gail is hosting our "All About Occasions" challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  I had a request for graduation announcements and this is one of the designs I made.  The school colors are black and teal.  Given that they must go in the mail, I kept the design fairly simple to avoid additional postage.

The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Animal Crackers

Hi everyone!  It's time for another challenge from The Sisterhood of Crafters.  This week your host is Terri.  She has challenged us to create a design using animals as the focus.  I've not used my Party Pandas stamp set is a while so I decided to do a very simple card.  I stamped the panda, added some confetti and a flag and that was all there was to it.  Very simple but what a cute little panda.  I hope you stop by and share your animal creation with us.

Morning Glory Thinking of You Birthday

One of the things I like doing, is to make up flowers and die-cuts ahead of time so when I need them they are ready for me to use.  That's the case with today's card.  I had the morning glories all stamped and cut as well as the sentiment.  I thought they would look well together and so they do.

The challenge at The Flower Challenge is to "use a previous challenge" and the one I chose to use is from November 5, 2016.  It was their second challenge and was an occasions one.  My thinking of you card is actually a birthday card for my daughter-in-law.  I love those flowers from the Build-A-Flower:  Morning Glory stamp set from Altenew.

The inside of my card is stamped using the now retired Beautiful Birthday stamp set that was in the 2012-13 Annual Catalog from Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set:  Build-A-Flower:  Morning Glory (Altenew); Beautiful Birthday (Stampin' Up!)
Inks:  So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Thinking of You Die (Altenew)
Other:  Clear Wink of Stella Brush, Pearl Basic Jewels (Stampin' Up!)

The challenge from The Flower Challenge is to "Use a Previous Challenge."  For all the challenge details and to share your project, click the image below.

WWC173 - Tenia's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge

This week Tenia is hosting our Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  My clean and simple design focuses on using embossing powder to add color to your card.  It was fun using the different colors of embossing powder and using sticky tape to add the turquoise powder.  It's an easy way to adhere the powder and heat emboss it.

Stamp Sets:  Painted Poppy (Altenew), Colorful Seasons - sentiment (Stampin' Up!)
Inks:  Poppy Seed (Taylored Expressions), VersaMark Watermark (Tsukineko)
Cardstock:  Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions), Vellum
Other:  Melon Mambo Embossing Powder, Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder, Tempting Turquoise (Stampin' Up!), Scor-Tape

Thinking of You

A few months ago I decided to join the Maymay Made It Stamp of the Month Club.  Since doing so I've really enjoyed receiving these stamps but must confess to not using them much.  Today I decided it was time to get busy and make a card using the Happy Hibiscus stamp set for May.

The first thing I did was cut out four of the sentiment from Oreo cardstock using the Thinking of You Die from Altenew.  I layered them together using Art Glitter Glue and set them aside to dry while I stamped the card.

The three flower images were stamped using Confetti Cake ink for the base layer and Cookie Monster ink for the lined image.  The center of the flowers were stamped using Lemon Meringue ink.  The leaves were stamped using Lime Zest ink for the base layer and Peapod ink for the lined layer.  These were stamped on a layer of Sugar Cube cardstock which I then attached to a card base of Cookie Monster cardstock, which you can't see but it matches the color of the striations in the flowers.

After stamping the leaves and flowers, I took my quilling tool, which has a round ball on the end of it and I tapped it on a Blue Corn ink pad, then tapped it onto the card layer.  I kept doing this until I had all of the dots I wanted.  Before I added the sentiment, I covered it with a Clear Wink of Stella Brush and it has a wonderful shimmer to it in real life.  For the finishing touch I added a few sequins.

Stamp Set:  Happy Hibiscus (Maymay Made It)
Inks:  Confetti Cake, Cookie Monster, Lemon Meringue, Peapod, Blue Corn (Taylored Expressions)
Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube, Cookie Monster (Taylored Expressions)
Dies:  Thinking of You Die (Altenew)
Other:  Clear Wink of Stella Brush, Seuqins

You Are the Best

It's been a while since I've played along with the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge.  I had started coloring this with Copics but didn't get it finished.  When I saw the challenge of "flowers", I knew it would be perfect and I needed a thank you card.  I didn't do a lot of blending but decided to simply color the flowers.  I love the bright colors.  I really enjoy using this Cutting Edge - Flowers stamp set and die from Taylored Expressions

Stamp Sets:  Cutting Edge - Flowers (Taylored Expressions); So Very Much (Stampin' Up!)
Inks:  Night of Navy (Stampin' Up!); Oreo Hybrid (Taylored Expressions)

Thanks

It's been a while since I've made a card for the Retro Rubber Challenge.  I loved the sketch for this challenge.  I decided to do black, gray and white with just a pop of Strawberry Slush.  I seem to neglect my Jar of Love stamp set so I pulled it off the shelf and got busy.  It also fits the year or older stamp set requirement of the challenge as it's from the 2016-17 Annual Catalog.  I rather like the way this turned out.

Stamp Set:  Jar of Love (Stampin' Up!)
Inks:  Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Strawberry Slush, Sahara Sand (Stampin' Up!)
Cardstock:  Oreo, Sugar Cube (Taylored Expressions)
