Spice Cake Dry Erase Board

Over the next three days I'll be showing you the different gift items I made for the craft show.  They are all dry erase boards but each is different.  The first one I made used Spice Cake Designer Series Paper which is now retired.  It was one of my favorites.  Because the design covers the entire piece of paper, I added a layer of Very Vanilla so any messages written would be clear and easy to read.  I had made the flower some time ago but never found a use for it.  It was perfect for this frame and added just a bit of color to the board.

Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Spice Cake Designer Series Paper (retired), Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (retired); Accessories & Tools:  3/8" Designer Printed Brads/Pool Party, Crystal Effects, Tattered Florals Die

To hold the dry erase marker, I added a piece of magnetic strip to the side of the frame.  Although the magnetic strip had sticky on it, I've found that they don't hold well and eventually fall off.  To prevent that from happening, I adhere the magnet with some Crystal Effects.  It works well for attaching the flowers, too.

Be sure to check out the Stamping Cafe Events tab as I'm making some major changes to the schedule.  I'll be adding new events throughout the week that will take us through to the end of the year.  There will be fun to be had for all!

  1. What a great and beautiful gift idea. I love that you used retired DSP. This may have to go on my CASE gifting list. Hope the craft show goes well.

  2. Thanks, Stephanie. What I like is that you can make them any size. I have a 12x12 in the works using more of my retired DSP.
