Summer Starfruit Poppy

Just a quick post here today.  I'm supposed to be doing chores but put it off long enough to share this card with you.  I combined a couple of challenges and I really like the simplicity of the card.  I opted not to add a sentiment so I can use it later for whatever occasion I might need.  I often leave my cards blank just for that reason.  It allows me to have a stash on hand that I can customize easily.

Stamp Set:  Simply Sketched (Stampin' Up!); Inks:  Always Artichoke and Summer Starfruit (Stampin' Up!); Card Stock:  Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Always Artichoke and Peach Parfait - retired (Stampin' Up!); Accessories & Tools:  Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (Stampin' Up!), Rhinestones, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

For the flower, I did some paper piecing.  I stamped the imaged in Always Artichoke onto the Summer Starfruit card stock.  Next, I stamped the flower from the Simply Sketched Stamp Set onto Whisper White using Summer Starfruit ink, then cut around the flower and glued it on top of the stamped image.  It's a fun technique and you can get very detailed with it should you chose to do so.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my card.  You can find it HERE.

The color scheme came from the ColourQ Challenge.  You can see it HERE.
