Snowflakes

Christmas may have come and gone but it's never too early to start making the cards you'll need for this year.  I love sending out Christmas cards so today I have the first one of the new year to share with you.

First, I heat embossed the snowflakes in white onto Vellum.  Then, I used my Copic markers and colored the back of each snowflake using a different shade of blue.  Each snowflake has been punched out, then glued to the Shimmery White background.  Although it is hard to see in the photo, there is a watercolor wash of Soft Sky that is behind the snowflakes.  Next time I think I'll have to go darker so it shows up better.

Stamp Set:  Flurry of Wishes; Ink:  Soft Sky; Copic Sketch Markers:  B00, B02, B05; Cardstock:  Shimmery White, Vellum, Whisper White; Other:  White Embossing Powder, Snowflake Punch, Flower Medallion Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

The theme I used is from the CAS Watercolour Card Challenge.  For all the challenge details, click the image below.

  1. Hi Marsha. Vellum really does make things look soft and dreamy ... perfect for your beautiful snowflakes. The watercolour wash in the background is subtle, but that just adds to the depth. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!
