Color Me Beautiful Challenge 5

Today's card is the one I made for the current Color Me Beautiful Challenge.  It was an experiment in fun since I made my flower out of ribbon.  I want a unique and unusual flower and I'd say I found it.  I love how these colors Sahara Sand, River Rock, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant blended so well together.  To see all of the beautiful projects for this challenge, just click on the following link, http://colormebeautifulchallenge.blogspot.com/ and it will take you right to their blog.

Stamp Set(s):  Delicate Doilies, Loving Thoughts; Ink(s):  Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder; Card Stock:  River Rock, Sahara Sand, Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder; Accessories & Tools:  Top Note Die, 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon/Wisteria Wonder, Antique Brads, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Crystal Effects, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine

Tomorrow I'll show you the project I was working on over the weekend.  It took longer than I thought simply because I kept changing my mind.  A woman's prerogative, right?

  1. I love it, Marsha! The ribbon bow is so pretty, especially with the Vintage Brad in the middle! I am so stingy and have a hard time using so much ribbon on one card, but it really does look fabulous! Thanks so much for playing at CMB each week! I love seeing your work.

  8. Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! (Sorry,it just came out) This is a beautiful card! You must share how you made that ribbon bow! It's SO pretty!! You have in your list Crystal Effects. Is that the little dots on the right hand side of the card? I thought they were rhinestones but what a GREAT use of CE!

    1. Thanks, Connie. Too funny as I am so used to getting that. The dots on the right side are rhinestones. The CE was used to hold down the ribbon flower. It, along with the brad, made it kind of heavy and I knew a dimensional wouldn't hold. The ribbon was made simply by using the brad and looping the ribbon over the prongs. You make your loops as long or as short as you want and keep looping until you have the size flower you want. Hope that makes sense.
